It's a adult diamader not. Sure how to spell it but the big snake it was always a baby so mabey a adult? But it would have to be masive!! Also I think new weapons it shows on the pouch and on the back not sure but I really hope of they did it in the way I hope man I am all for it and it seems that way let's goo!! Also mabey the lighting transitions time!!! Or something like that!!!! Also what game systems does mhw release on? I say two new weapons which are the ones they showed if only one I say bowgun which it showed in the trailer you know it would be mabey medium bowgun returning!!!! Hahaha Happy hunting!!!!! NM what it is yes a time shift and well based off the movie a bit ya .... Bet
Normaly MH base games have 30-50 big Monsters in them, only exception was Gen with 70+. If Wilds is really Open World, i say it will have around 30 big Monsters. Edit: at start that is, who knows how many will be added in Title updates.
@@lubbo5261this will likely have more Base monsters than most game so far. Might not surpass GU though in monster totals until its expansion. Consider they might use a lot from World/Rise and add completely new ones.
@connorthompson9 it's super over rated. It was fun for the first few battles but was way to clunky to actually enjoy. If they bring it back and implement it better sure but it would hurt the game more then help it if not.
Ps5, xbox, and steam all releasing at the same time is a huge sign of them doing crossplay. A little after or before world released (i dont remember) they asked the community if we were interested in crossplay and it was a resounding yes, so i think we will finally get crossplay Edit: this would also explain capcoms new stance on modding sense consoles can't get mods
Unfortunately that stemmed from an official livestream of a sf6 tournament, one of the computers they were using had a NSFW mod on it The mod prohibition was probably going to happen either way though, to prevent other mods (one shot or impossible stats) from hampering cross-play with pc
It would be interesting if the mount acted like a mobile support base. There would be designated safe spots on the map where you’re able to set up a camp. Perhaps the mount can’t directly assist you in combat, but are able to move around and offer support, like a target for a grappling hook since it seems like we still have the slinger based on the hunter’s left arm on the trailer. Also, this is just how I feel, but I don’t believe it’ll be one massive open world map. I feel like they’re going to have multiple maps, but are very few like 2 or 3, and each are massive enough to house maybe 2 or 3 biomes that change based on the weather. Lastly, what I’m truly excited for is the possibility to hunt siege or titanic sized monsters, and with the new interaction with the environment, they could now portray the true power of elder dragons by finally making them as lore-accurate living forces of nature.
@@wysockifamily1747 yes it would be nice one issue Kulve lives in caves underground and Zorah lives deep in the ocean. now this could be a reason for us to see something like Lao Shen thou
Not really a problem if they live in caves, that just means they can add an underground region to the map. They already do this with some maps like the rotten vale. Also, now that many monsters can fit in the map, I wonder if there’ll be “horde” type or “group” type large monsters like the “rat-bears”/“goss harag’s cousin” shown
Honestly I'd prefer if maps stayed a similar size as they are now or have multiple biomes of current map size each per map that monsters try to keep inside of, like you can chase a monster into a neighbouring biome but it'll prefer to stay in its native area
So happy it's available day one on PC. Hope they incorporate cross save/play so I can play with my friends on every console (and not have to dredge through the lower ranks)
@@Zarroxius im pretty sure (as in 99%) that capcom PROMISED to include crossplay in all the next monster hunter games, and the fact that its coming out day one on pc may prove that. Not sure about cross save tho, also they implemented crossplay into 2 recent games (being street fighter 6 and exoprimal), and exoprimal was a lower budget game so yh
One thing I am really excited about is to see how many Large Monsters can be on the screen at the same time. We already 7 or so of those Desert Harags and like 30 of those Pangolin things at the same time. Arena Quests are going to be awesome!
We’re not certain those Harag like monsters actually classify as a “Large Monster”. They could just be very big “small monsters” like the Larinoth or Popo.
@@HerEvilTwin Even so thats still around 40 "small" Monsters on screen at the same time. I'd imagine atleast 5 or so should be realistic. Now getting them all into the same Zone probably isn't gonna happen all that often.
It would be really fun if the lightning rods end up connected with a lightning elder dragon of sorts.. Like its quills left pierced into the earth and act as grounded rods for lightning. Also can't wait to find out what causes the flora to be wiped out in the story hehe Editing on because, it'd fun to imagine this open world as an old battlefield between elder dragons. One having quills or spears and the swooping terrain having been fossilized breath attacks? I dunno I'm having fun brainrotting about it
I also thought about that. In the last scene before the dust get blown away you saw a lightning stroke a pillar and in the same time a stroke flouted around this giant round structure. Let me also think that an Elder Dragon harvests energy across the land. Maybe another Xeno'jiiva/Safi'jiiva like Dragon, which you than can hunt in a team of 16 players hopefully.
Thanks to capcon for keeping the trailer from leaking, so we all got to experience it together and not questioning what is official or not. So many games leak info like screenshots and gameplay footage.
Loved the concept, I hope we can get more as we get more MHWilds news, i really enjoyed the interaction between all you guys and the different theories/opinions you each gave ! This is gonna be a long year ...
Podcasts are awesome so I personally would really appreciate more of these kind of videos. It is really fun to listen to your different thoughts and opinions! Maybe also invite other MH content creators to discussions and vice verca. I am 100% Rurikhan for example would be up to that.
Really enjoyed hearing a discussion from the team. You should consider doing a couple podcast episide leading up to, and just after the release of rise. Would probably be great for your numbers, and im sure everyone would love to hear more stuff like this.
I have been playing this franchise since freedom unite and it always felt like their goal was to make it feel like a first contact like exploration open world game. You were always supposed to prepare for a hunt get your backpack ready, food, provisions etc and then setup a tent to hunt the nearby prey in a previously unknown area. This type of narrative was heavily emphasized in world and was the most popular of the franchise. I hope the double down on this one and actually have ports and cities and they are miles apart and you have to establish roads and communications, have random traders you meet up in the wilderness and actually try to setup tents for hubs etc. I am so hyped for this one.
i like the detail of the starting armour sets between world and wild, as World was about exploring the new world and as such the starting armours gave off the look of an explorer, simple light weight to get from point a to point b. While im guessing by the name wild is gonna be more about the actual hunting as such the starting armour displayed gives off tribal hunter vibes ,kinda ragged camouflaging designed to survive harsh storms, clothes youd wear to be out in the field for a long time. Also I love the bird, im naming him Eragon
I'm so happy to see them being ambitious and trying to push for a open world & more emphasis on the environment. This feels like a renaissance attempt at seeking out the hunting sim root of the franchise & making MH more than just an action game I truely hope they will make planning out the travel in respective to the environments a bigger factor in this game. Instead of just having the maps feels like fight arena we teleport in & out of in late-game.
@@vukkulvar9769 yeah. And the rest of the map are barely enjoyable. Most of the time player just rides their dog around them collecting buff birds like Sonic collect rings.
Hunting is the core of the experience. Being prepared for the hunt and resource management is what has eroded in the modern games. The open world does not matter.
@@herochrisx open world means travel. Travel means planning. Planning means hunting immersion go up. Not to mention they also showed hits of seasonality in the trailer. That's something that also eludes to more planning. Ofc if they just throw in generous fast travel I can only slam my face against the wall and bid them wtf
My thought is that it's going to be a massive version of the guiding lands. Defined zones all layered together in one giant map. I'm so happy. I loved the guiding lands.
The Opening and Ecology Cinematics from before are becoming a reality. Since we are getting more monsters on screen it would be fun to finally get to experience a monster stampede in game whether it be large or small.
I'm very excited for wilds. We could be seeing some very significant changes to the formula and new tech. Like the weather is clearly an important system, and there's probably more than just sandstorms. Maybe like hurricanes, floods, other windstorms, etc. The logo is interesting. Two main serpents, one lighter green and orange and one black. Somebody on the sub was saying the intertwined serpents and the egg thing in the middle of the 6 could be a reference to a particular chinese folk story about two dragons fighting over a glowing pearl. Something about not underestimating people, idk. Maybe its just a generic light and dark thing? And the 4 smaller ring serpents are significant somehow. Are they like children of the larger two? New elders? Something related to the different biomes or weather or idk. Somebody else on the sub was also thinking the rocks were similar to highland corals, but it was pointed out they're actually fulfurite. Rocks formed when lightning strikes melt sand together, which makes sense given the shocky sandstorms. Or its a convienent coincidence. The theory that the weapon shown actually is a new weapon type is an interesting one. A medium weight weapon with a handle in the middle of the back of the blade, I guess you could use it like those weird bladed whatevers from startrek.
Agreed with what you guys said about the Slinger and Clutch claw, I really didn't like the forced implementation of the clutch claw in World but instead had more appreciation for the slinger and how you could interact with the environment or lure monster with them
To me this is still very prototype-like footage. Similar to how MH4 trailer was very different from the final version of the game. I think alot will change here as well. I also don't think it's going to be fully open world. Areas will be larger, but the area they showed doesn't seem to have much else to it than sandy areas with some trees here and there.. I just think the areas will be much larger and maybe have different sub-biomes that still represent the overall biome. I'm sure whatever they do it's gonna be fun! I just personally am really against a fully open-world MH for some reason. I just don't see it working.
I have a feeling it'll be the open traversability from Rise's maps with the liveliness of World's maps, as well as World's scale if not bigger. But I had fun with every Monster Hunter game I played so far and I played all starting from 4U, so I doubt they'll fumble hard enough to make a bad game. The time they take shows that they intend to polish their games, something Pokemon could do for a change
Yeah I'd expect quite a lot to change. Even here there is a little crust, specifically with the visual effect applied to the hunter and mount inside the sandstorm it just looks like a flat coat of paint. But wilds is at least one potentially two years out still and that's a ton of dev time.
About the RE Engine, Capcom was working on an update/upgrade named REX engine, despite oh that, RE Engine got us games from MH Rise all the way to Resident Evil Village. It's a very versatile engine, one of the things Capcom did really well in recent memory.
The RE engine is by far the best i have ever seen. Dont forget they have exo primal which shows they can handle a lot of actors active at any time. Any upgrade on that engine is gonna be Decades ahead of engines used by companies like Bethesda, Activision etc.
We can assume from the trailer there could be a large monster with thunder element that could use the lightning to charge itself, then we could use the rods to prevent it from charging or vice versa. Alternatively we could maybe use the rods to avoid thunder and lightning strike based attacks which sounds obvious and boring but still kinda a big deal against the likes of kirin, zinogre and the like.
Even without Wirebug silkbinds, i hope they still have moveset switch like in RISE which is really glorious for bringing old gen hunting styles and hunter arts! MHW may have made the weapons to have more unique playstyle, but RISE is just on another level! Especially for us Lance and Gunlance mains!
Would love to see you guys do a round table discussion about your speculations and wishlist for MHWild. It could be multiple hours long and I'd watch it. Also I wonder if wildfires could be a problem if challenging fire monsters in dry, grassy areas.
Thing is, this is the "teaser trailer" not the full on "trailer" where they would show off a new weapon type. They first have to show us that yes, this is Monster Hunter, and later they'll show us new stuff.
Sword looks awesome though I legit thought it was a longsword instead for a sec 30:40 and love yall really enjoyed this discussion and your outlook on this it made a very entertaining video
Great video, very excited for Wilds, although I do think it is time for a new Weapon type. By the time Wilds has come out, it will have been nearly 10 years since the last new weapon type (Insect Glaive MH4). Personally, I’ve been thinking about what niches of play style haven’t been met and have 3 ideas I just want to throw out there: 1.) Gauntler & Greaves (aka Punch Kicker) Basically Beowulf from Devil May Cry, the idea of kick boxing monsters is too cool to pass up. They could potentially reuse some DMC animations as well. 2.) Giant Boomerang (Sango from Inuyasha) This would be a cool mix of a heavy melee weapon that can also be used at range. 3.) Kusarigama (Chain Sickle) This fills in the melee/range weapon, but for a more agile weapon type.
i wonder what happens to buffs and weapon mechanics? can i just use hunting horn to buff yourself up and then switch? what happens with ls spirit levels? do i lose them if i switch? are they put on pause?
@@daethmer7834 it's likely that it's like this, but the mount seems to be always around and if it's simillar to how you can sharpen on palamute it doesn't seem to be that much of a hastle to swap out. something like hunting horn buffs + swap before starting a fight would still be quite viable, no? those buffs should stick around since they also apply to other players and are not directly tied to the weapon. if even that would be reset, then weapons without weapon mechanics that you need to manage like gs and hammer would likely be much more popular than say longsword or charge blade. also what about your armour set? different weapons have need of different skills and many flat out only work with a single type of weapon. i'm really curious how they want to make switching weapons work without making it massively exploitable/cheesy or making some weapons terrible options to switch to/from.
It's unlikely that they'd even try to incorporate weapon swapping while you're fighting the monster. It'd just be for when you're chasing down the monster and want to switch to something else.
I hope we do have to worry about the environment... Soo much to the point that you SERIOUSLY have to think TWICE on a camp choice... Like make it to where if you pick a bad location.... your camp gets trampled ! Make it feel like that show "naked and afraid" Like this series honestly needs a real ... Hunt... or be hunted kinda vibe
@@makandalp for real man. Like all these new games Like Horizon Forbidden west, Black myth Wookong and Elden Ring look better than this. Even Devil may Cry 5 that came out on Ps4 looks better than this and it’s made by the same dam company.
From what there is, there's evidence to show that SEASONS are a part of the game. The Wilds page has a little animation of the main area going from lightning storm, to winter (snow-covered), to Spring (title screen shot), and the shot jsut before the title dropped it showed the grass growing and the trees growing leaves (going from Summer to Fall, most likely the first rain of Fall) I hope I'm right, as that would be really cool
@@TornaitSuperBirdthat would be such a pain for farming but so cool. Like imagine not getting a gem after hunting the same monster for all the season and then it just ends and you have to wait again for the monster to appear 💀
New/casual player here and MHW exploded recently. I finally made it to guiding lands and the game really opens up and becomes very enjoyable at the end game to my surprise with some good voice acting and immersive quests. Can't wait for wilds.
The potential for two weapons at once in a quest must be amazing for elemental users since we can have two separate elements to switch between whenever. Although it might not be as effective as In thinking since you also tend to need a different armor set or decorations for different elemental weapons
Imagine the possibility of using ur slinger to knock over the lighting rods and then the lighting could be directed at the monster. Also if cluch claw does come back, I would love to see u be able to couch claw the lighting rods and get an electrifying couch claw
I'm probably the only player ever to really like the clutch claw gameplay in Iceborne XD. I enjoyed weakening the part I wanted to hit on the monster with my specific weapon I was currently using
Same lol. I'm a DB main and loved the clutch claw addition bc it let me reach areas that were usually inaccessible to me, and they let me control the fight flow more.
@@makandalpas someone who doesn’t like CC, for me it’s two things. Firstly it nerfed Weakness Exploit making you have to tenderize parts to get the full effect and then it’d only be on the tenderized part. Secondly, I think it’d be better if it was only used while the monsters gave you the tired pose opening. IMO. It was just spammy
I really hope they make the multiplayer more approachable with this entry in the series. The biggest problem I’ve had getting people into the series is that you can’t start a new save file and complete the campaign at the same time.
Seriously. It's kind of wild (no pun intended) because multiplayer worked just fine all the way up to MH4, and then MHW just shit the bed for seemingly no reason. Was Rise any better? I didn't play much multiplayer so I don't remember
@@sadgeman4589Much the same unfortunately, village quests (story) had to be played solo. I didn’t play it much because I wasn’t as big of a fan of it and I still had a bit left in mhw. Now that I’ve done almost everything in world save for all the little things like the observation log and crown hunting I’ll probably play a bit more rise while I wait for wilds.
@@sadgeman4589what you talking bout in the old games the story and multiplayer were always separate that why we had guild (village quest) and hub quests. In world they eliminated that and allowed you to play multiplayer with the story it just you needed to see cutscenes before others join you
World was the most approachable entry in the series. Also you could do multiplayer with the story which was the first time in this franchise’s history cause you had village/guild (solo) and hub quest (multiplayer) in the old games. The only problem was that you just had to wait till the cutscene ended for the person quest then you could join them and the fact that cutscene couldn’t be skipped so idk how in world you can’t “start a new save file and complete the campaign” since you get 3 save slots so you can easily start an new save file and play the game
@@nicholasmarquez3399 that’s not really playing through it side by side though. When I tried to get my friend into the game he expected us to be able to load in at the exact same time and do the mission including cutscenes together. He was also averse to the fact that you yourself have to complete the story mission someone else is doing before you can join them and he absolutely did not want me using the same save file I’d already completed the campaign on just because in his eyes that wouldn’t truly be playing through the game together. Eventually I broke him down and he let me play my regular save file but at that point he’d already given up on the game and was only willing to finish the story because I’d bought the game for him. Exactly what you’re talking about were exactly the things he complained about.
I worry about the hills making Laggy being shafted again. Maybe snake wyverns will come back in this the 6th generation like najarala, dalamadur, the huge one from frontier and/or new snakes.
Another theory of mine is using the weather conditions to ur advantage, like say the monster your hunting is weaker during certain storms or environmental areas, then u lead them to those areas and weaken them. Or vise versa a monster could be powered up like the small monster that got stuck by lighting in the trailer. So instead of rage mode, the monsters get a power up if their environment matches their element.
9:16 Wild Hearts was treated so dirty. It had so many cool ideas and the nature theme was just magical. I am sure, that Wilds will borrow some of these ideas, because they were too good. The way you can set your own camps and zipplines and traps on the map is deffinitely something people would love to see. Sadly these were probably the causes why Wild Heart's technical side flopped, but I hope Capcom can do something with the idea. (I still can't run this game smoothly after a year of release. It's just infuriating how it is treated.) Also I can already see the crossover event with Final Fantasy, giving a chocobo skin for the mount. :D
My one copium wish for this game is that they return HH to what it was in world lol, I loved the patient playstyle that it gave and the strategic buff playing considerations mid fight. lol, don't think it will happen, but one can hope.
The first showcase of MH4 didn't feature a new weapon, actually. It was the Hunter running from a Tigrex in a super open version of The Ancestral Steppe, eventually finding and mounting a Rathalos.
You cant be serious...the clutch claw is such a boring mechanic, and its almost mandatory to use later in the game, how can you prefer it over wirebugs when they objectively make the game more in depth and fun, especially compared to the clutch claw
most people were fine with the slinger, the clutch claw being used to tenderize the monsters so you can effectively damage them was annoying busy work.
@@JlezyWas fun to use. Monster Hunter World was my first Monster Hunter game, and I didn't have an issue with its use. Only found out recently that some people weren't happy about it. Lol
Weakness exploit was nerfed because of clutch claw, hitzones were nerfed because of clutch claw, they had to introduce a "stagger" animation purely for clutch claw so u can actually use reliably etc. There were many things that just made it feel awful. Clutch claw is a good and cool concept, the implementation was just really bad. It would be alright If they brought it back but manage to intergrate it into the game as good as wirebugs, because wirebugs were incredibly well integrated and just flow well with the combat.
@@BBBerti This right here. Also it was pretty annoying at times when you started to aim with it to grab a part of the monster, but you were juuuuust out of range, so you fail the grab and then try to get closer while still aiming, but the speed at which you walk while aiming is horrendous, I honestly think they did the slow walk as some sort of way to balance it? although I have no idea how that would balance anything. There is also a mod that fixes this issue almost completely, by making your forward walk a lot faster, although moving side to side was still as slow as the original.
They emphasize on the greatsword a lot but I feel like it might be a longsword where the handle also extends when you pull it out but who knows? So excited for another console MH!
I think the mounts saddle bags will be customizable, like how Palico's had special equipment they could take into a hunt(flashfly cage/meowlotov cocktails ecct) you could go into the hunt with an extra loadout or two at the cost of less storage for extra healing/ammo ecct.
Really appreciate this type of freeform conversation. Deus has a good instinct for this i think :) First thing i thought seeing the weather. Is how monster like Kushala Daora to be far more powerful and game changing with storm and tempests weather
The RE Engine is the engine behind RE7, RE8, all the new RE remakes including 4, and DMC5. It is by far one of the single most poweful engines on the market. Rise looked like that because of the switch
I'm very excited for a change in structure. Maybe it'll play the same with Base > Quest > Base gameplay loop but it might be heavily remixed with an emphasis on travel and longer expeditions. I played Dragon's Dogma for the first time a few years ago and Wilds is looking pretty familiar! If this really is a more open game, it may play more like DD where you can amass multiple quests before heading into the field. And the random encounters in DD are so exciting I wanted MH to do it too and that might be what we're getting! Considering DD2 is dropping soon, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some overlap between the two games and the devs have been sharing ideas and tech. My only concerns are if the combat is too similar to World due to the dev time being focused on the open world. We've seen it with Elden Ring and TotK where, though great, they both added very few new mechanics for the core combat because the focus was on making the open world work in the first place. I'm expecting new gimmicks of course, but I won't be surprised if the base movesets of the weapons are mostly unchanged.
Yea this discussion format was nice. Sometimes I wish there were monster hunter podcasts just talking about the game in general, advanced tips, etc that I could listen to while driving. So yeah this was cool 👍
at 13:55, I think the dust storm might cause the environment to become sandy. When the storm clears a gust of wind just sweeps the ground, causing the grass to stand upright again.
I think the coral looking bits are probably some type of fulgurite, so glass formed when lightning strikes sand, just going from the lightning focus in the trailer
something i noticed is the "theme" of the title maybe hinting what could be either the flagship or the "main elder" of the game, the "W" in wilds is intertwined in the middle, and the logo on the right shows the 2 tangled snakes , the black and white ones, so maybe the story is about the 2 snake elders fighting and causing disturbances on the lands below them, these being the thunderstorms and maybe other weather events
I had the same "...Monster Hunter...?" moment at the beginning of the trailer lmao! Can't wait for this release - I've been getting that MHW itch lately and started a third playthrough from scratch.
Hyped for Great Woddland Pteryx mount. He's cute. Watch the 20th anniversary announcement in March be Monster Hunter Now *again*. Happy 20 anniversary where we call this mobile game spinoff, "monster hunter content" again. like we did when we announced Zinogre in Now.
I honestly expect this to bring back some of the Frontier monsters here. There are many good ways to introduce, and this is the perfect way to introduce those desert monsters from Frontier
Whether it's open world or pseudo open world (like World), there hasn't been a Monhun game I haven't enjoyed for 500+ hours so I'm beyond hyped. Kinda hope the overworld IS the hub and you can join fellow hunters mid quest and explore with them etc. Can't wait to see more about this game, gameplay trailer, a few new monster teasers, the main hub town/city. Might also wanna go in blind and let the roster surprise me. It's gonna be a loooong year buckle up Lance mains.
i think the weapon pouch will be reserverd for ranged wepon because of utility pourpes for exemplan you can use to hunter fliyng small creator , use as a way to shot rope so um can climb a mointan things like that
My wild(hehe) guess about the handle in the back for the Greatsword that Vycery mentioned: it's because it's not a handle for a Greatsword... it's a secondary handle for a Magnet Spike /hopium
The mount looks like a forest/woodland Pteryx, the endemic life from World. It also moves and glides in a very similar manner. The font for "Monster Hunter" is the exact same as World's, so I'm pretty sure we're exploring the unexplored regions of the new World. Also, I saw an interesting comment on another video, what if they transform the clutch claw into a grapple hook ? Which makes sense, it would essentially function as a wirebug. Logically if fired at the ground, a wall or a monster you could pull yourself towards it, obviously we would need a surface to attach it to though, so it wouldn't be exactly like the wirebug, it's a really cool idea though ! And a great mix of both
This is the biggest and probably the most ambitious MH series. I think with how mobile game pushing the boundaries with their open world and 3D design, make AAA game also pushing their boundaries. Really hype for this one
