Teostra, Kushala, and Nergigante back to back challenge quest. Nowhere near an (IMO) good run. Have only attempted this one a couple times and I'm not that experienced with switchaxe. It's in my sights to A rank however.
Hey, it's my time to be useful. I've mostly been learning other weapons so here are just some general tips: >Amped Mode is your number one asset when it comes to damage, do keep it up for as much as possible. Fastest way to charge with Focus 3 and Power Element Phial (what the challenge gives you) is Double Slash into Heavenward Flurry. Unlike LS, Amped Mode buildup is constant, so you can hit shitzones for faster charging due to less hitlag >Managing Sword Gauge is also important. Focus 3 gives you a slight boost to both natural gauge recovery as well as gain from Sword to Axe Morphs, so do use them >ZSD is overtuned as shit. This could probably be the entire comment >Holding Forward while doing the Sword: Overhead Slash moves you forward a bit, and it transforms the Axe to Sword Morph Attack into an advancing attack. In Sword Mode, you can cover a lot of ground with Roll > Sword to Axe Morph > Advancing Axe to Sword Morph >You can do a Slinger Burst in Axe Mode after Side Slash (also draw attack), Fade Slash, Forward Slash, and any Sword to Axe Morph Attack, in any direction. Slinger Burst during Wild Swings (can be used after the first one) always shoots forward and makes you jump back a fair distance. There are no Bursts in Sword Mode. Beyond staggers and a free KO with Thorn Pods they're useful for rotating on the spot and can be followed up with the Overhead Slash >I know this is claw related, but you can fire a Claw Shot at any point during the Element Discharge animation (including right after the first stab). This actually has a decent MV and with a Power Element Phial and Focus 3, it charges about half of your Amped Mode, allowing you to ZSD right away. On that note, you can ZSD even if your Sword Gauge is in Purple as long as you're clawed onto the monster and in Amped Mode (but the UI won't show it since it'll only display the axe model) I don't know how relevant any of this will be to this specific challenge compared to just learning ZSD openings, but I hope it at least makes SA more fun to play

I do already use the roll > sword to axe morph a lot but haven't evolved beyond that. >Slinger burst Not something I'll bother abusing until I feel like I've mastered the weapon properly >Claw Actually one of the coolest things about SA is that it actually implements the claw into its normal usage, specifically with transforming from a clawcrab into a ZSD. I love using that one monsters trying to run away. It's a guaranteed fat hit that's also likely to cause a stagger, so using it on something's leg to make it trip while it's trying to run away feels insanely rewarding. I'll try to use the mid discharge claw attack.
@@monhanking Heavenward Flurry is the attack that comes out if you press B after a Double Slash, you perform it at 5:10. It's the best move for charging your Amped Gauge, but that's about it - your main damage combo is looping Double Slash and Overhead Slash, with Morph Attacks as needed and ZSDs when possible. Tell you what, I'll give this quest a go when I'll have the time and I'll try to share if I figure anything interesting out. Pushing bad gear to its limits is exactly my kind of fun, no clue why I haven't touched Arena much

Yeah I learnt to just press B when I have longer openings for the fastest amp building and Y for cookie cutter sword mode hits since they come out so fast and there's practically always an opening for them. >no clue why I haven't touched Arena much I know right. It even makes me enjoy chasing fast times which I normally don't care for. The ease of access to comparing your times to other people (and the given ranking system) makes it feel a lot more satisfying.
