@DrZakirNa1k I live on a US Mil base, the AH64s are LIGHTLY armed and armored. Plus the MI24/MI35s have more effective lock range, so while an Apache is still trying to lok onto the Hind, the Hinds missile is halfway to target
@HIMKA18 Then specify that you mean by word - the best. If the car can't execute certain elements of pilotage any pilot, whether it be the Pole, Russian etc. can't execute this figure. So to me the word the BEST has taken in head, to give to technics but not pilots, in that context without specification :)
Saddams army never fought In deed. Mil-24 was fighting in Afghanistan against "Stingers" but that's not a case when American fighting in Afghanistan today. Would be interesting to see what would happen if some country would give to Talibans something like a Stinger. Russia is more reliable country when it comes to keeping a treaties and not selling weapons to "uncertain" regimes. That you cannot say about USA, just look at the last conflict with Georgia, and US still gives weapons to Georgia.

It would be a disaster for A-10(s) and Cobras and Apaches to fly into anything like an IGLA, so anybody smart ass that thinks that Russian Mil-24 is not good because it had some casualties in the real fight, with an enemy-counter air defenses needs some education. I don not wand any American pilots to die, but God forbid if those Talibans would have IGLA(s) in abundancewhat would happen then

Although the Mi24 is my favorite helicopter I have to say that what you're saying is totally unrealistic. If you'd load up the carrier compartment with ammo and fuel the helicopter would need a runway just to take off and it would still risk to chop its own tail off so think about it... It would be like trying to swim and shoot with an M60 and a 10 kg backpack.

I'll be impressed when it survives an actual assault against an actual military. The only major conflicts it has been involved in are the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and the Iran-Iraq war. The occupation resulted in huge losses of helicopters (when they weren't massacring civilians) and the Iran-Iraq conflict saw no tanks destroyed, only helo-to-helo battles. contrast that to the Apache, which has gone up against Hussein (twice) and come out on top US Army forever! hooah!
