Please everyone, stop with the complaining about no GPS in the Mi Band series. If you want to have a GPS just get a smart watch. I like the band because its 1. Has e great value for money 2. It's simple 3. Low price. I don't need a GPS, i prefer to have everything else and for lowe price. If you need GPS there's a 1000 options there. Thanks!
Maybe I'm missing something, but why would any smartwatch need GPS? Isn't the whole point that it's paired with your phone, which will have GPS anyway?
I feel that the bracelet is more suitable for running, because it is very light and will not put too much pressure on the hand. However, when I go out every day, I tend to prefer a round-screen watch. The matching of daily clothes, checking information, and making calls are very good.😄
I find your reviews simple and straightforward and I'm constantly amazed on how you speak continuously (no verbal fillers). Totally binged your videos, keep up the incredible work! 🙌 Also you are gorgeous and those veiny arms are nice to see~ 😆
Finally! A REAL improvement. I've been waiting for this for years! I've been dealing with Amazfit's Bip for awhile, but love the software so much more here. Thanks for a great review, as always, fellow Mike 😎
@@cobaltblue5523 Still waiting for non Chinese stock. I want the international version but Amazon at least only is selling the native one. I have patience, the proper version will get here eventually.
@@cobaltblue5523 Pretty big one, like the Chinese one has a few things we don't get, and despite those things being there they don't work (Like NFC). Plus you need to know how the menu works out of the box because it's in Chinese. If you don't know how the menu works, you can't get it to English. Just not worth the hassle.
I wish there were more reviews & tutorials that feature senior use of the Mi Band 7. I'm in my 70s. I am not in the greatest health, so I won't be using all the workout features; these were not the reasons I bought this device. The reason I purchased this was to track health issues and to support senior issues. Things like the 'Find My Phone' feature (I sometimes misplace my smartphone and it sometimes slips behind cushions and things) and the 'Flashlight' feature (so I can move around my home safely when I wake up in the middle of the night). Features most meaningful to me are the health-monitoring features. -Heartrate -Blood pressure -Blood oxygen level -Sleep monitoring and analysis What is most annoying to me are the prompts; I don't need a device to nag me to do 'fitness' things (well, maybe I do, but at my age I don't care for it). I don't know how to completely turn those off, and I'd like to. I won't be running (I'm nursing a torn meniscus as I write this comment), I won't be biking (I've already hit that 'brittle bone breaking stage of life, so no falling from bikes), I won't be exercising, and until I adopt a new rescue pup I won't be doing much walking. The fitness things are useless to me. I need a video spotlighting how to make the most of the health monitoring features. Like how to work with weight input, which understandably is not an auto feature; I don't own a 'smart scale' I might be able to sync to, if that's even an option, but there's a weight monitoring feature I am clueless as to how to utilize. I'm glad for the fitness features for those who want them, but this device can be great for seniors who just want to monitor basic health and address daily function. There are a million videos that address fitness use of the Mi Band 7, but where are the senior-specific uses? And to be clear, I do know other seniors who, independently of me, have discovered the usefulness of this device and bought one. Seniors are a huge demographic that's being overlooked. Oh, and one thing never mentioned is the recharging cable issue. I really love how it connects magnetically to the device, but no one mentions that, within a short time, even gentle use will press at least one of the two tiny charging prongs into the recharging cable seating, losing the contact necessary to recharge your device. Charging cables are available for separate purchase, often in pairs, and very affordable. STOCK UP if you don't want to end up with a Mi you can't use until you get another recharging cable delivered or bought at a store. Amazon has these.
Been thinking to change ,I'm using miband 4 since 2019 haha..the battery life has been good still while it still last for 10 days when the first time I use is as long as 14 days.
This has to be a great fitness band ! I want a few things to be added though.... and no, not gps. 1. Altimeter, ok it uses location, but when connected, this can really help with trekkers. 2. Barometer, again, uses location, but still helps alot. 3. Somthing random but maybe something to do with space ? Like constellation or stars or some other stuff and maybe you can check what constellations will be visible to you area that night or something. Totally random though.
I wish the display doesn't get any wider after this one, longer display is ok but not wider, I wear mi band 24/7 since mi band 4 and I love it because it's small
Here are my thoughts on miband 7 after using it for more than a week. 1. Battery life: in my testing, with AOD on, it doesn't last more than 4 days. With AOD off, it lasts about 10 days. 2. Slow response: the processor is noticeably slow, it lags so much compared to miband 4 that I loved so much. Other than those two, all other things surpass my old miband 4.
As a redmi smartphone owner, can't wait to get one of these for myself, since I never had one (with the exception of using a redmi smart band pro borrowed from a cousin) so I guess it's a good way to start!
I'm annoyed that fitbit wants me to pay £7.99 to access all the features on the watch i already own... Looking for an alternative and i think this might be it!
Why not use both? I have the Mi Band 5 on my right hand + Galaxy Watch 4 on the left :) Mi band 5 I have it on 24/7 while I wear the Galaxy Watch only when I get out of the house.
@@gjram8807 I don't really care about the exact number of stepcount. As long as I reach my daily goals on both devices it'll be okay. When I go to the fitness I use the tracking on both devices. I wear the Galaxy 4 because it is more classy but too big and heavy for me too sleep with or wear all the time.
As an iPhone user I am really torn on getting this over an apple watch. I just need a fitness band (¬ an overpriced watch everybody wears!) that can track my basic fitness. I wonder how is Mi Band’s connectivity over iPhones?
I've been using the 4 since it came out. I like them because all I needed was notifications and sleep tracking so getting an actual smartwatch with apps isn't really what I wanted, only thing I miss is tap to pay but I don't need a phone on my wrist. It's light too so sleeping with it on is possible. I'm gonna upgrade to the 6 or 7 cause it's time for a new one.
I find that the silicone bands are only comfortable if you never ever sweat. Otherwise they're sticky and hot and terrible. First thing I do when I order a new band is to order some kind of nylon or similar watch band to go with it.
You actually can get 3rd party apps. They have found a method to make an app as a watchface. Doing so allows it to run other apps like games or ie a calculator
I've used the MI band 4 and 6. And honestly, the watch faces suck!!! It's mostly weird cartoons and takes awhile to load. It's important you highlight that fact since a lot of people are into that sort of feature. But apart from that , it's quite brilliant.
I recently bought a Vivosmart 5, my girlfriend got a Band 7. I paid three times as much just so I could stay in the Garmin ecosystem, but I really find it difficult to justify the cost compared to the Xiaomi. It's almost embarrassing how much bang for your bucks you get with the this device, it's like the Garmin isn't even trying. At least the Garmin Connect app is excellent.
The mi band's features are just bells and whistles honestly. If you value tracking, the quality isn't really there with this one. Then again, you get what you paid for.
HI! You can save your workout even without bringing your phone with you on your workout. you just need to sync the band to your phone when you get home. Thank you.
Wish amazfit would create their own version with the same supplier. Amazfit band 5 and mi band 5 were essentially the same except amazfit had alexa and overall better in the US market. Highly doubt xiaomi would their their certs to be able to use Alexa and nfc pay in a US market.
Does it have smart alarm? (Waking you up when you're not in REM sleep) I used to have it on God knows how old Mi band, and it worked just fine for me, although a lot of reviews said it was a gimmick. And a bonus question, which smart watch/band has it? It's honestly a must for me if I'm gonna track my sleep with it
This is a really niche question, but does it have a wheelchair mode or exercise? I have the Mi Band 6, which is good, but I have to use the Walk exercise when I go out rolling, and I don't know that that gives me an accurate calorie count.
In a different video a person noted that the heart beat count is slow and off. But also the calorie tracking is way off. She compared it with fitness 5, the main band 7 showed half as much calories burned on a 8mile run/hike. Kinda bad
I have that band currently and some things are quite bad. Like for example notification about not walking around for a hour or so. You sit down and 11 minutes before let's say 12:00 pm band vibrates and let's You know that You have not moved for a hour so get but and move.. Why not at 12.. Why every time 11 minutes before that hour.. Also what i don't like. I'm up. Moving around, cooking, doing something. Then i sit down to watch something or eat and clock get's to let's say 9:49 and vibrates. Get up. You haven't moved for a hour. I just sat down to eat or what ever. Like 3 minutes ago. Then there is problem with step counting. I get up and move a bit inside. Shows me i did 20+ steps.. Okey. Sometimes i don't feel like getting up and move my hand back and forward 4 times.. Then it shows.. I did 30+ steps.. Like how?? Other than those problems i like it.. It's good.. Feels nice on my wrist and let's me know if my heart rate it too high or oxygen in blood to low.. But that 11 minutes before hour is up is really starting to annoy me.. Should be full hour notice.
A "feature" Mi needs to add is setup software that is not hours of tech hell. I'm on my third Mi Band. Registration, download, linking are not for the faint of heart. It can be done, if a user is patient and has experience working with buggy and minimal user interfaces.
I've had the Mi Band 5 since Sept 2020 ...it's fine, but i do wish that the heart rate measurement was more frequent than once a minute. The Mi Band 7 looks great so far.
i have a mi band 4 and i have almost 19 days battery life and I'm using notification receiving phone calls it work well with me . i think i will never upgrade till they add GPS and NFS
Can you chose the distance as a training when swimming? My wife's got the Band 6 and it only allows time, kcal or free training. I want to set for example 1km as goal and not any of the other goals. thanks
I see a lot of people positive in the comments. But as an Garmin and Apple watch owner, I just couldn't be happy with the lack of accuracy of the sensors and lack of software.
I wait for the day Xaomi will just decide to include things like GPS and onboard storage to store music and listen to it even just by using a Bluetooth earbuds. That'll automatically be the best selling wearable ever.
@@MikeOBrienMedia I totally agree. And I believe they can do it. You are doing a great job Mike. I always watch your reviews. I bought the Galaxy watch active 2 after watching your review and one other person's. I look forward to seeing your Samsung Galaxy watch 5 series review. I'm watching from Cameroon 🇨🇲 Africa🌍
@@MikeOBrienMedia personally I wear regular watches on my left hand (I have over 40 to switch between) and the mi band 6 on the right so going any bigger would look odd. I wanted a compact tracker with HR and sleep so the 6 fits the bill. 7 seems great in terms of feature upgrades etc but I think I've hit as large as I'm willing to go and definitely get the limitations of size for incorporating GPS etc without killing battery life. I currently get between 8 and 12 days of charge on the 6 which is great to just charge once and forget about it for a week. EDIT: BTW a pomodoro timer is great for concentrated work periods.
I have a MiBand 4 now and my big complaint is that they do not support a good character set so if a notification has emojis or other special characters, I just get blocks. Did they finally fix that?
Same! Not even the comments were clear but it seems like if you value the always on display feature & wider screen the 7 may be better but can give less battery life and lags more than the 6
Best channel for smatwatches. I would like if could also review Huawei watches since currently I am going to buy one of Galaxy Watch 4 Classic or the Huawei GT3 Pro.
why are these two versions of this watch on amazon in USA? i looked up mi band 7 and two options pop up but i dont know what the differences are? they appear to be the exact same product.
PLEASE HELP! I am so frustrated. Band 6 showed weekly steps in Workout History. And to see previous weeks step numbers you could scroll. It was awesome. WHY did they remove this information from Band 7? Now I can only see my steps in chart form. And it's in thousands! For someone counting steps and wanting to see actual numbers this makes Band 7 useless. Can anyone help me please?
Your footage shows it still kinda lags I was thinking of getting the miband 7 upgrade from my 6 because it's a little lazy scrolling through the menu . It's slight but noticeable
That original rubber band is only for the producer... I have bigger wrists and lost 2 of the Mi band 5, due to the fact that the rubber band gets unlocked without noticing. I found my first Mi band 5 at several different locations.. once even in the dentist waiting room, not exactly a work-out area. The 3rd I have in a woven metal, wristwatch like band, for 4 years now and never lost it. The original rubber bands suck. But I'm looking at the Mi band as a replacement. I prefer one with a GPS. So I'll wait.
I was one of the people who bought the Amazfit X when they were getting money via Indigogo. And I can tell you their customer service was AWEFUL. Tons of complaints which went ignored. The watch was literally orphaned after only about four months. I think they only added four or five watch faces making a total of twenty to twenty-five faces. (Unless of course you went to some Russian site which some user kept posting on their forums.) It really made a lot of people mistrust the company enough to never buy from them again.
@@magusxxx Obviously it's impression from years ago right ? You got to look at their product line now. (I am not aware of the customer service issues).
Its not much of an improvement over the band 6 to make me replace mine maybe the band 7 pro if it goes global and the popping out of the band is band 4 territory
Does MI BAND 7 have option for CONTINUOUS HR measurement???? In my case it only have these measurements options: 1)Every 1 min 2)Every 10 mins 3)Every 30 mins 4) Smart HR measurement Please reply because I d like to have CONTINUOUS HR measurement Thanks
Having used MIB4-5-6 I'd say the best battery was the 4, I had like 24 days average The 5th generation wasn't worth the upgrade Now using the 6th gen. .. i get 2 to 2 and a half weeks of battery and 1 week when using it to compile data about my workouts Now the 7th. .. idk, I'll eventually get it, but i hope the battery administration gets better and never like a 1 day battery smartwatch
Hey, I see that you do in this video mrwhostheboss montage with circle view of you during some tech clips during video. To my mind it is more of a distraction than a advantage. You are not synchronize with a tech clip and it doesn't look good 😅. But it is just my opinion. You do you.
Personally I find it weird that they release two versions one with NFC and one without it I have bought the NFC version but to be frank I dont use it since the bank selections is really limited for my country and I would have to buy a Curve card and since I have a card on my phone I dont find it beneficial at all.
I own a Samsung S21 Ultra. If I set alarms on my phone. I don't get any notification on the mi band 7. Also I had a drink water reminder app. I don't get that notification on the band too. Any idea why ? I am about to return my band 7 and wait for Samsung band if Samsung apps won't sync with mi band or notifications of some apps won't be shown on the mi band 7.
For real im choosing this over watches because of the battery life . Watches always get charged everyday which is very annoying. Im currently using mi band 6 and only charge it once a week . With AOD added, its enough reason for me to upgrade
