allow Sophia to listen to Spanish like her cartoons or any tv shows switch them over to spanish so since she’s a baby she can listen to the saying as well as with you! It will help y’all both and you’ll get a better idea! Same with music
You have a beautiful family and wife . It’s nice to see a relationship that is positive where you both support each other and love each other ! Thanks for showing and sharing it with the world.... we all need more of what you share
You know what there's a lot of people that try to speak more now that they're older and have a hard accent but you don't really have that. It's just more that you don't know many words (like me) but the bit of uncertainty when you talk will go away with practice. You speak pretty great!
I feel like if you had another person with you who speaks Spanish, you’ll get to perfection in no time!!! 💗💗 Your Spanish is not so broken as you think, and is very good for someone who doesn’t speak it on a daily basis!! YOU GO GIRL!!
Theres a lot of mexicans in finland (and other latinos) with whom you can practice. If you wanna start the easy way, writing and reading, theres these fb groups "mexicanos viviendo en finlandia" and "mexicanas en finlandia" where a lot of us mexicans talk and post stuff. If you dont like being in groups then theres a fb page "mexicanos en finlandia" that you can follow and read a lot of interesting news and discussions about stuff that happens in mexico and finland. Also theres a bunch of mexican parents in helsinki that hang together sometimes so that their kids can play with other mexi-finn kids and practice spanish.
Girl, for someone with broken Spanish, you’re vocab is pretty dam good! Don’t be so hard on yourself, trust me when I say your little bean will appreciate the effort she’s older. You’re doing amazing, don’t give up!
Chachi, your spanish is awesome!! My advise would be: trust yourself! You hesitate a lot on whether you're saying things right and truth is you speak beautifully! Practice makes perfect :)
Honestly doubt you’ll even see this, but thank you so much for doing this!!!! I grew up with two Spanish speaking parents but I also spoke to them in English, and growing up in America of course they had to learn English for their careers, so it became easier for them to just speak to me in English. And they never challenged me, and more importantly I never challenged myself, and the older I got the harder it was. This honestly gave me so much inspiration to try more, not only for myself but for my future family. I honestly thank you so much, because it must’ve taken a lot to put yourself out there, and it helps others like me to really see it’s possible and that most likely all those thoughts in our heads that we sound dumb is just crazy lol. So thank you, and hope your journey to speak Spanish continues ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That’s what my family does with their kids.. well most of them, and I too plan on teaching my kids Spanish first since they’ll get English as they grow just like the kids in my family 😊
Your Spanish is good, you just have to be more confident. You’re right with a lot of words but you think you don’t.
Omg I'm shocked I have never heard you speaking Spanish ever! How cool that Sophia will learn Spanish you could put her in Spanish classes later on so she can perfect it.
finally a video "speaking in spanish" where it's actually someone who hasn't practiced like me too!! My conjugations suck and so does my vocab hahaha but I understand everythinngggg!! I needed this :)
OMG I’m literally the same way with my Spanish, same situation and everything. And Everytime I speak Spanish I get like stuck and just lack a lot of confidence in speaking it 😅ahaha . But I started doing this app called Duolingo that helps you with your Spanish. It even has practice for speaking which has helped so muchhh I recommend
Because you don’t have Spanish speaking people around I would just say to FaceTime/call people who do. It helps get you comfortable and if u don’t know something they can help.
Love u sooo much from Venezuela ❤️❤️❤️
Im fluent in Spanish but I’m also super insecure especially when having to translate on the spot :( but your Spanish is good girl. Keep practicing. Learn with your daughter Sophia
My native language is also spanish! Trying to learn english was a pain in the ass, but movies and music in english helped a ton! So watch movies and sing songs in spanish!
🇲🇽 I am so proud of you chica ! I am an avid Spanish speaker. I lost a lot of it when I was younger however, I practiced it and now use it a lot at work and home. The fact that you are trying is so beautiful❤️🤍💚. Keep it up !! Sophia will be trilingual 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I have to say you are inspiring to watch. I love the effort you put in to speaking Spanish and Finnish. Learning a new language requires openness and vulnerability. You’re making me wanna practice and refresh my Spanish. Keep it up! You’re doing great and inspiring others in the process☺️
Chachi! you did better than you thought, i know you think everything you’re saying is wrong but you got soooo many words down, like 80% as a spanish major, and if you want help, i say you learn gender in words, how you have to say words with an ending in “a” and some one “o” you got this!! if you need/want any help my ig is @karinalizbethr i’m legit going to school to teach spanish- and work with kids/teens, i’m on my last year, it’ll be great practice for both x this is for ANYONE who wants to learn!
Karina Rodriguez I would love to learn! I’m currently 8 months pregnant and my Spanish is kinda like chachis I just always replied in English growing up so it’s very broken I’m trying to re learn it like how chachi is so I can hopefully teach my baby one day 🤞🏼
Karina Rodriguez I would love to learn as well! I also have a huge problem with conjugation. I come from a mexican household; Both parents speak Spanish fluently, but never taught me as I was growing up. I was able to learn a lot through school , and spending summers with my grandparents who have been helping me. Since I moved away for college I haven’t had anymore opportunities to learn & would love to start back up again. My ig is @bryporras
I'd love to learn Spanish. I started learning in school and learned more when I was with my ex because he only spoke Spanish. I'm horrible with conjugations and don't have the confidence to use it with people. Every time someone ask if I can speak it I say no or very little when the truth is I can probably speak more than I let on
Hey Karina, this is such a great idea!!! Maybe we can organize like, a zoom meeting??? I can DM you just let me know! I would love to learn to speak Spanish. Havent gone to school for it but tried the language apps and im familiar with some words since our country was colonized by Spain for 300 years. Theres a lot of similarities in culture. Was planning to take some short courses before the pandemic
Aw this was amazing! Great job. I totally understand in the beginning when you mentioned confidence, I am the same! I get so nervous and don’t want to mess up so I just give up. And it’s so sad because now I can only understand my family rather than speak it fluently. Don’t give up, you’re amazing and you got this!
I used to work at a day care and one of the babies I used to take care of was 2 and I can’t remember exactly but both of the parents spoke different languages. So the mom only spoke Spanish and the father spoke Portuguese. And then at the day care we spoke in English. But yeah start when they’re little babies. 😉
I think it's awesome that you put yourself out there to try and practice and that you do it because you wanna show your daughter. That you don't forget where u came from and that u strive to show your daughter that it's amazing Chachi love u always so proud of the mother and altogether person that your turning out to be
It’s really good that you are teaching Sophia how to speak Spanish! That is a really good skill to have when she gets older! It has definitely helped me when working with families and children in a hospital setting!!!
Chachi, thank you for representing the Hispanic community that don’t know Spanish that well and it’s okay that we don’t. There is so much stigma and disrespect towards people like me and you and others out there that struggle everyday. I have very similar skill in regards to my Spanish. I wish there was a way to connect to other people like yourself that way we can both learn together. I hear it works best with learning. Please do more videos like this. I enjoyed it so much. You are awesome! Keep up the great work :)
I am the same skill level as chachi too. But I also made it my goal to improve my Spanish this year especially since being stuck at home for the mandatory quarantine. We should share resources! ☺️
Sigue adelante chachi!
You’re actually really good! Don’t get discouraged! My Spanish is a lot like yours and when you speak it more you get better because my Spanish has improved a lot! I work with a lot of Hispanics that only speak Spanish and i was RUSTY but definitely keep practicing! And tbh i want to get even better as well. 💖lots of love ❤️
Good job! I love speaking Spanish as much as possible 🤗 I recommend getting the Duolingo app it has short stories for your level and it’s fun. The podcasts are also easy to follow along with! Good luck!
You did really good for your first time!!! I'm excited to see more of your videos of you practicing your Spanish!! I love that you want to better your Spanish so that your daughter can also learn!!
Y sigue practicando tu español, aunque hablas bastante bien. Abrazo desde Argentina. Chauu. ✨💗💖🏜️🌄☺️
I’m the same way 😅 my parents were both born in Mexico but for the most part we speak English with each other & they do sometimes speak to me in Spanish in which I will still reply to them in English because I’m embarrassed about how I sound when I speak Spanish (like a white girl) so I just don’t :/ it makes me sad cuz I want to practice my Spanish so I can be better at it but I can’t cuz I’m shy 😩 but I’m going to make it a goal of mine to learn with you as well!
Read Spanish baby books for you and the baby! Learning for you entertainment for her. Also plaza sésamo it’s sesame street in Spanish, you know elmo, Cookie Monster, etc. Very good to learn for both.
I totally feel you girl, I’m in the same boat myself. At one point I felt less of a Mexican but then I remember SELENA QUINTANILLA once said “I feel very proud to be Mexican. I didn’t have the opportunity to learn Spanish when I was a girl, but it’s never too late to get in touch with your roots.” keep at it, si se puede!!!
Hi Chachi, I am 100% Salvadoran, my boyfriend is 100% Finnish. And my Spanish is about the same level as you, my mom only spoke to me in Spanish but I usually responded in English (we we're encourage to speak more English, so that we wouldn't be bullied in school and would have better opportunities growing up in Fairfield County CT.) As I get older, I practice my Spanish more, but I hope that one day my future kids will speak English, Spanish, and Finnish!! Thanks for sharing this video, and I hope you see this xo
You're doing a great job, it's all about the practice as in everything. I'm Mexican as well, I was born and raised in Tijuana and have been fully bilingual since little, but as well when I spend time without having fluent conversations in English I feel like it gets rusty. I know a lot of people that their English is amazing just from watching TV and listening to music, so it can work as well with Spanish💙 Hope you can keep making this kind of videos and as well watching yourself can be a great feedback🤗
Ok so I’ve been waiting for this moment since ABDC and I’m so happy that you want to teach your daughter and that you try, btw you’re doing it so good keep going! I love you! Btw I’m Mexican too! Viva mexico! 🇲🇽
I am so proud of you Chachi, you see when we are young, we think that just calling ourselves latinos is enough to represent or to be part of the culture, and we don't really care about embracing our roots, but now that you are a mommy, you want your little Sophia to learn it. It's a cycle and it's so cool to see you trying to learn the language so that your child can grow up with it. :D :D
I loved this video!🇲🇽 You’re just the cutest! I love how you’re trying. You’re doing so good, you will get it down for sure and your lovely baby will have a big advantage knowing 3 languages! And yes please make more videos in spanish!! Love you so much!!💕💕 (my favorite part was when you said poquedito so cute!😂💕)
This was so cute lol... you’re doing just fine. The more you speak it the easier it’ll become. Try watching your Netflix shows in Spanish or even just listening to Spanish music or letting the tv go in background in Spanish. Just make sure you’re listening to it in a consistent basis💕
Wow, I'm impressed! I was curious you know? And I thought your Spanish would be a lot worse honestly!! But it turns out that all you need is practice woman! I think it's amazing when one speaks perfect English and Spanish, and you are very close!!
Chachi!! I'm so excited!! Please don't give up!! Let me give you some tips, I'm Mexican trying to perfect English but I live in Mexico, so it's hard cause I don't have people to practice as well... But! Ive learnt other languages and practice them by trying to teach, you could try to teach a little to Jukka and that will help you understand, get a little fluent and get some confidence as well!! Please DONT GIVE UP!! I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I've already watched it like 5 times because it's so good! You're better than I thought because of what you've said in other videos! You're doing great! I'm so excited!!
