Mia Secret vs Young Nails | Which monomer is better ? 

I feel like the young nails monomer made the acrylic more buttery and thick while Mia secret seemed a lil more thinned out and runny

You really have to catch young nails on a holiday sale. They usually do two monomers for 20. Also their acrylic kits come with ALOT of products for about 100, if you wanted to try some of their acrylics. I’ve reviewed a lot of their stuff on my channel and I love most of it.

If the Mia Secret was an odorless monomer it would leave a tacky layer than can be easily removed by filling Or running your hands umder warm to hot water, the tacky layer is a dispersion layer and it only happens with odorless monomer... hope this helps

I've been doing nails for over 25 years. I used to use CND and recently started using Young Nails. I absolutely freaking love Young Nails.

Nice video!.. I always wondered about YN monomer. I love doing acrylics!.. but due to the smell.. I have been doing poly gel or just making press in’s. I also heard YN was low odor as well.. so I’m glad I watched to see it smell as much as Mia secret, which is my go to!!.. I started doing nails with Mia secret and like you it is the main one I purchase. I have tried others that come in kits to review for vids but I always stuck with Mia secret.. so thanks!

A little tip for using the mia secret you want to release a little more liquid from your brush before going to the powder and immediately after placing bead you want to wipe your brush so you the product doesn't gum up your brush. Been using mia secret for years it's ok, it will work but I would only get the clear or maybe white. Not a bad brand to start with.

Great video. I use the brand Entity. I'm a 33 year Nail Tech. I've used Young Nails Monomer and Acrylic powders. They are very good quality. I had just ordered a bottle of Mia secret Monomer, and a cover powder just to try. Looking fwd to using it in comparison to my Entity brand.

I was skeptical to order the Mia secret monomer bc of all the negative stuff they were saying about it but the one I ordered was fine for me as well!

You need young nails acrylic, it is my fav!! Also you used Mia secret monomer fist then Mia secret so that may be why young nails is stronger

I ordered that same mias secret monomer (in may) off of Amazon and then august rolled around and it still hadn’t gotten here and it just kept saying that the package was running late and it had no type of tracking info or knowledge of where it was at and we ended up canceling the order and I’m glad bc later I read the reviews and they all said that it didn’t dry and it left the acrylic like gummy so yea

I’ve literally only tried mia secret monomer and that’s it now all I like to do is polygel since the smell isn’t what my family like but I don’t have a problem with it 😂😂😂

I had that same problem with the mia secret monomer only once tho, I think it was a bad batch and I started using supernail liquid after that and use the mia secret every now and then

I bought the Mia secret monomer but I feel like it dries way to fast.. or I might be doing something wrong cus when im done adding the acrylic it has a lot of bumps

I bought a cheap cheap kit on Amazon and straight threw the monomer away bcuz that smell is not a joke, I don't know as it's the first time I've used it, but my cats weren't liking it so I had to toss it, nails came out gummy n chalky anyways, why does Mia has such horrible reviews??

I love my glam and glits monomer and it’s like $30 for 16 oz or the Kiara sky is good too

Mia is definitely stronger in scent than young nails, just my opinion. Plus young nails have sales. And yes it’s definitely better with its acrylic powders

Same exact thing happened to me with the exact same seller on Amazon.

I’ve tried them both and Mia Secrets is trash compared to Young Nails. Especially when using the whole system of each. The Young Nails acrylic powder is do much easier to work with

It might of been gummy because of the clear acrylic , honestly I can only Work with Mia secret clear acrylic but any color acrylic is either chalky or gummy depending on the color of acrylic and it leaves my brush clumped up Even if I clean it constantly .

Idk if it's only me but my mia secret monomer is really oily and all of my finger and brush get oily and sticky. And if I use a different brand for acrylic that's not mia secret the acrylic gets sticky

I know it's a year later but I heard sometimes u have to use the same company for both monomer and acrylic. That if you mix 2 different companies sometimes they just won't work together. Not all companies. But some.

YOUNG NAILS ALL THE WAY!!!!!! I haven't tried Mia Secret.....I'm not sure if I want to. Haven't really seen many use it. Normally I see Valentino and Young Nails then things Press ons I don't do. I want to try poly gel but not sure which brand is best.

Out of curiosity do you think that maybe the last bottle you got maybe was missed labeled and it was a slow dry scent free product like some brands it has when you take nail technology classes because sometimes when you use those it takes longer to dry and it has that stupid dummy inhibition layer which you can only file according to my class and the training in one direction to get that off and then you file the nail and you have to use a three bead application so I know if it’s not dry and you were to stick a sharp item over that it probably would. So maybe you either a miss labeled bottle I don’t know if I make the slow dry because it has a lot of foils in it and you’re supposed to take a wooden curette to tap on the nail to be able to see if the nail is dry or not we know this because we have to prepare for it a state exam but I was thinking maybe that’s what happened with you with Mia….. hmm 🤔

Should try the monomer from Nail Career Education.

Young nails is better in my opinion. Mia secret leaves my brush dirty even when I wipe it on the paper towel constantly.
