not all of south florida. the urban neighborhoods like Opalocka, Liberty City, Overtown, Little Haiti, Brownsville, Florida City, Carol City, Miami Gardens, Wynwood, East Little Havana which nears downtown, the black grove, Allapattah, Goulds, Homestead.
When you drive through this place at night, the dealers just call out to you, "Wanna buy dat weed?" and sometimes a hooker will flash you. 3 blocks away there's night clubs that cost $50 to get into and there's 3 cop cars parked on the street doing private security. Under the overpass in the daytime there's nothing but stray dogs, but at night, there's literally 25 homeless people camped out. 2 blocks from that, there's a weekly goth night at Club Eve. Ahh miami....
Outsiders that have never been to Miami always think Miami is a Joke and warm because the Colors of the Buildings (Pink,Turquoise,Light-Blue,Yellow) suggest some kind of false security and Softness. It is NOT lol. Come to the 305 and one will see how fast s**t gets real.
For all yall who say Miami weak and yall city more dangerous etc.. i beg you please go to RobinHood by miami central, lil Haiti, brown subs, pork'n beans projects. Or even down south to goulds or west perrine, south miami heights. Nun of yall would be breathing. Miami has a stand your grown law so alot of murders go down as stand your ground if you have any potential weapon on you . 2nd guns are legal. People got LITERALLY Barret 50.Cals and 50.cal desert eagles. Not little 22s . Ive seen people with vectors,an p90s. Talk on that on RU-vid yet nun of yall went to those spots an said Miami aint shit yall aint gonn do nothing. Man im safe right here, Not 1 of yall would be living an police will come 1 hour later. Better stay in the city acting like that . Go above or below your done.
The key to survival keep your mouth closed, your eyes open. To be honest if a person doesn't live over there or have family the only reason to be over there would they looking for action or they try a buy dope. No one goes to the Swamp for no reason.
Trust me you don’t want to mess with the people in the Miami hoods but Miami has it’s nice areas for example coral Gables,Coconut Gove,Miami beach,Palmetto Bay,doral,Miami lakes,Kendall,Kendall lakes, cutler bay, west Chester it also has it’s not bad not the greatest parts like north Miami Beach
I know this comment is from 11 years ago but I’m glad your staying were you are. these New Yorkers that moved down here turned Miami into a dump. Always investing in sky rise projects and housing developments on Empty lands and turning wildlife into concrete jungles.
They act like they have no choice, no opportunity, etc and it isn't true. You are allowed to go to public school, you are allowed to get involved with sports and after school activities. You are also allowed to want to live in a clean neighborhood. It says a lot about the people living in that area that they are "okay" with having trash EVERYWHERE.
bro i honestly don’t care abt ppl opinion like as if we care . that’s the place we live , grew , and raised . so if they don’t like they gon keep not liking it bc i live in the 305 area and thats that.
FOR THE RECORD I GREW UP IN THESE CITIES ALL TIED TOGETHER FROM CAROL CITY TO OVER TOWN ALONG WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS ALL WHITE AND OTHERS, WE ARE A BEAUTIFUL MELTING POT OF A LARGE NUMBER OF FAMILY MEMBERS TODAY SO ALL THIS TALK ON NON WHITE WTF POOR IS POOR.
i been running through here since for over 20 years , never had a problem there , but i have seen many get their shit ripped in this place , dade county 305 raised me , after jamaica made me ,
im from Miami ur boy mike mike back in the 80 I was livin in the pork/bean project wit my baby mama so I no how it waz the street is no joke it can get ugly some time u just need to keep 'yo' head up and keep 'yo' eye open now that's wassup
I'm from miami ,No offense to your video but as i watch this it makes me sad because in each clip all i see is images of the diiferrent things that happen in these areas,i picture dead bodies ,the police and yellow tape.horrible
I saw all these buildings every single one of them. There are lots of areas like this throughout Miami Dade and Broward Counties... There maybe areas like these in other counties or states. But ever since I moved to Colorado,, not even the highest crime areas look anything like this. Its truly disgusting...
The design of the buildings in this video. remind me of a prison. i feel for those people. who think they have to live there. peace love and powerful lite to those that want to get out
Miami Tampa Orlando hoods are the same as the hoods in Jacksonville too they ain't no different. It's like who don't got run down projects and everybody got Drecos Choppers Uzis Tecs Macs Carbon 15 and Carbon 50s in Florida this is the pistol popping state or an upside down boot kicking ass niggaz using these kinds of allloy toys Oys. 38s 9mms 357s 44 45 and 12 gauges too. 410s and 223s also.
@Da Carol city pope Miami is just like every other big major city in Florida. They have they're own distinguished style of their own that makes their city standout in it's on way.
@Da Carol city pope Jacksonville has come a long ways from them slavery days okay. When I moved to Jacksonville in 1989 it was hopping, popping, humping, and jumping. Now as far as what you said about Miami setting trends first in Florida donk and big chunk wearing jewelry well that's up for debate. Jacksonville been rocking the the heavy jewelry, big links, boss style rings, dunks, hoopties, and souped up benzes, beamers, and flashy cars since 1981 and 1982 very strongly all across the whole city. My mom, dad, uncles, and cousins around my parents and auntie ages was doing and rocking all of the heavy jewelry, big links, Rolex watches, and kango hats with the silk and Hawaiian shirts, hard azz suits in the early 80s way before 1985. My dad cousin Lonnie had a 2 door 1975 white bubble Chevy Caprice with maroon leather, a 4 door beige 1972 Chevy Impala, and a black 2 door 1979 Cadillac Sedan De Ville all of them had eagle stud hammers or moon style rims on them too this was in 1983 and these rims were made in 1981 they even got pictures to prove it. D-Rock was a local big time rapper was doing the same thing Ice-T and 2Live Crew was doing jewelry and rapping wise in the mid 80s' in 1983 and early 1984 in Jacksonville, Florida who had a black Porsche with gold trimming, everywhere, gold rims, and gold grill. B-Fresh was another local big time rapper outta Jacksonville rocking like Big Daddy Kane in 1985 jewelry wise plus 1986 he had a rap buzz up until 1993 rapping plus he even had big jewels like how Run DMC and 2Live Crew did plus the benz on wheels looking clean.
@Da Carol city pope Everything I stated is true about Jacksonville. The city been doing it every since black people came to the hood there it's nothing new underneath the sun I have family members who was king pins one still is now. My dad and 2 of my second cousins on my mom side of the family. I used to sell drugs on a high level too. I was selling crack in Orlando and made $400,000+ dollars by my 21st birthday in 2000 within 10 months without even getting caught too. I sold meth temporarily in Denver in November of 2019 and some of 2020 and made $50,000 within 2 months selling meth without getting caught by police before I got jacked for like 28,000 bucks that was stacked up after blowing about $22,000 of it. So nothing you do nor or say impress me at all fam oy my boy and it's not even a big deal either. Jacksonville always is considered copy catting Miami only because Miami is the more popular city nothing new at all. This has been going on since the 1950s and 60s. Holybrook, Mixontown, Lackawanna, Division, 45th Street, Hyde Park, Springfield, Avenue B, Doodoo Creek, Brentwood, Sherwood, Moncrief, Soudel, Lem Turner, Normady, Beaver Street, Acorn Street, and Cleveland Arms been doing it since day one in the city. Yo problem is that you too stuck on Miami being so much better streetwise than any other city in Florida and it's not at all. There are King pins all across The United States in every city pushing weight. You ain't doing nothing I haven't done drug selling or street wise I just decided to go legit and live a stress free life making money the legal way and not having to worry about enemy gangs, jealous figgaz amongst the crew or outside of it, getting robbed, pistol whipped, being put in the hospital, broken nose, ribs broken shot at, shot, jackers, my every move being watched by the police, swat, feds, I wasn't never ever really capable and able to enjoy the money oy how I really wanted to you dig.
@Da Carol city pope Only booty hopping rappers have landed big like the 95 South and The 69 Boys all because the state of Florida is biased rap and tourist wise towards Jacksonville. Miami, South, Tampa area, and Orlando area of Florida gets all of the props and recognition first Jacksonville always gets picked and shiotted on.
I respect them and i don't even mind them at all!! like i wouldn't look down on them or anything like i just wanna be friends but they probably wouldn't like that :/
For us Non-Americans visiting Miami perception is of Art Deco, the Condos, Fashionable ppl & the chic culture in dem cafes lining up those sandy beaches. But look at these pics and its like theres a haiti hidden downtown. Looking at how the young ppl live their lives in Liberty City. Get up in the am, roll up a joint, exchange those food stamps for a drank to have over a game of dominos. Thats their life if they dont want to do anythin more wit it than fine but its the vicious cycle where the kids look up to dem and feel its the coolest thin to do.Their fathers if they are around are no better role models to look up to. Its a vicious cycle and the kids need to be protected, taken to a better place to be able to b able to do somthing constructive with their lives. If their momma has to go someplace else than she needs to do it. Ppl can blame history, circumstances, others etc for all their problemz or they can do somthin about it. It starts wit being humble, being patient, Wash Dishes if u hav to, take an extra course in the evening to improve ur resume to get a better job. Change is never gonna happen in a week or a month nor is Obama gonna make it happen for u. It starts wit u getting ur head right and look to get high by challenging urself to do stuff tat ur talents can afford u. The satisfaction and joy u can achieve by doing somthing meaningful and consistent in ur life is much better than 3 mins of getting high. Successful African American not involved in sports/hip hop industry got to where they were cos there a history of hard working culture in their grandparents, parents etc the parents worked 2 to 3 jobs in order for their kids to get a good education, a better life and retrospect the kids respected them for the sacrifices they made. Its a cycle vicious or constructively productive depending on how u want it to be
Excellent comment! Yet someone will come along and post some ignorant reply or lame excuse. Also, even if people live in poverty, your neighborhood doesn't have to look like this. It doesn't take money to clean
The sad thing is that these areas are not getting any better since the 80s ,30 something years down the road and they get worst and worst everyyear, everyother building is condemmed, absent landlords.etc.. and the city commisioners could care less than to beautify Brickell...
I visited Liberty City with my fiance, a French rapper, as we wanted to film some scenes for his vidéo. And we found the streets so empty. I was wondering where did all the people go? It looked a little bit haunted, we would have liked to meet local people
yes, this is the grandest scale of all the area encompassing:Liberty City,Overtown ,Carol City and Opa Locka,it is like agrand ghetto from downtown Miami to the north to the Dade/Broward county line. But yes there are pockets that look like this througout Broward and Palm beach as well:Hollywood,Riviera Beach, etc and you are right probally some of the worst slums in the country worst than L.A or Detroit. The Miami Hispanic political group could care less about their black citizens .
This is not worse than , the poverty people in my country, as far as l can see, everyone in this city has a car , but l wouldn't live in this place, every country has poverty,
I use to live there when I was a baby but know my mommy said when I get like 14 I can move back I'm to young someone killed my uncle there it is bad upclose
It wasn't until 2006 or so that the current gentrification trend took hold in Miami. Before that, hardly any world-class architect would want to build anything in Miami and crime was still a problem in most neighborhoods. Miami was more of a sleepy and seedy port city than the world-renowned city that it is today.
@IsThisTheKrustyKrab? Not Midwestern small town sleepy, of course, but Miami wasn't what it was today, even with all that coke money flowing back then. I remember that most of the glitzy and new residential and commercial buildings were built along the water, along Brickell Avenue and in Miami Beach. Coral Gables and the affluent part of Coconut Grove were more low-key and old-money. More than a few people were involved in coke trafficking, but for the most part it was a down-low thing until the Colombians came and decided to muscle their way in. There were some who decided to cash in and check out while they had the chance. There was money to be made, but also there were people getting killed over drug-related matters. One thing I can say is that the city wasn't as internationalized as it is now. We've had South Americans galore in Miami since the Latin America trade is what makes it important (trade with South America and the Caribbean would become important during the 20th Century as US political influence in the region increased), but we were no New York City at the time.
"Miami most danegerous place on earth" haha what a joke… Ven paca en sur america o carribe venezuela brazil colombia salvador mexico jamaica trinidad st kitts, africa entera o india tambien. You'll see what is the "most dangerous places" of the world...
It said it was in the late 70's and early 80's that's was during the crazy vice days of Miami.. Go look it up it really was out of control back then, the police weren't prepared for the Colombian's and the murder rate was unreal
@@houstonrailfanTX That's right. S**t got real once Pablo Escobar and the other Colombians entered the room. In the early 1980s Miami was considered too dangerous a city to which to travel and was considered the murder capital of the US for a time, even though drug-related murders were not carried out indiscriminately. When the DCPD (Dade County Police Department) saw the massacre in the parking lot that occurred during the 1979 Dadeland Mall shooting, they knew it was not the NY Italian Mafia because the mobsters usually kill one target at a time. Soon it became apparent that the Cali and Medellín Drug Cartels were muscling their way into the Miami drug trade. The funny thing is that more than a few people were involved in drug trafficking and a lot of it was done discreetly so as to avoid detection by law enforcement. The smart people got out of the drug trade completely and ran away with their money, which was used to buy legitimate businesses.
+Daveissa87 yes, it was the murder capital of the World once. It's murder rate was higher than any third world country at one point because of the cartels in Miami
+813flawdaboy Miami is a city- you compare to to murder rates of other cities- not of other countries. Several cities in Colombia had over 150 murders per 100,000 during those years. Miami topped off at 70 murders per 100,000 people its most violent year.
Henny Lopez you know they actually call it pork and beans, lol. I never did understand why until I asked and was told at one point the people that live in that area would eat pork and beans when they didn't have anything else to eat. Pork and beans was convenient and easy to put together
It is corious that pork is considered a poor´s meat whereas in other places pork is more expensive than chicken and sometimes is more expensive than beef, in my country chicken and beef is cheaper than pork.
I just came back from miami and i have to say that it isn't as bad as everyone was saying it was.. sure there was some "hoods" we stayed away from but other then that the WHOLE city is nice.. no i did not stay on south beach only we went to so many beautiful parts of the city inland and i was not feeling unsafe at all. i personally think people put miami down as a dangerous city but there are only a few bad areas.. just like with every major american city..
i used to work in Satelite TV installation in Miami, i saw someone get car jacked at gunpoint in broad daylight the 2nd time i went into opa locka. There's a tribute to someone that got killed on every other street nearly, scary shit. Refused to go anywhere near it after that. Ive worked in some trash can's but Opa Locka is probably the only place i felt scared to even get out of my van.
Carlos Washington Sr David Beckham apparently does with his new mls stadium he wants to open there will see how it goes hopefully it helps the community
Chicago just stuck on stupid killing each other over turf or some other dumb shit... i've been to chi town i know! Miami is a totally different city it's all about money trying to come up.
