Thank you for your kind words. I've often been guilty of putting too much into a trailer, but this particular plot point was too big to spoil. Thanks for watching!
Such a sad episode. John Diehl and Michael Talbott did an extraordinary job. You could feel the emotion coming through the TV screen. Perhaps if they had been given more substantial episodes such as this, John Diehl wouldn't have wanted to leave the show. Stan and Zito were as important to the show as Crockett and Tubbs ♥️
So true, Linda. I remember seeing John Diehl in that episode of The X Files and thinking Vice sorta missed out on his talent. Thanks so much for watching!
Greetings from nebraska. Very well done content for Vice fanatics. Feels good that this show will never die in the hearts of those in the know. 1984-1989….best years of my life.
To me this is when Miami Vice was over. When Zito died in this episode and the series remained it’s like a piece of the pie was missing. Respect to John Diehl and Michael Talbott’s performance in this episode.
Thank you for your kind words, Marina! It was great to see John Diehl get such an excellent storyline in his farewell episode. Thanks so much for watching!
Randell "Tex" Cobb stared in Uncommon Value with Gene Hackman and Patrick Swayze, good movie. Zito's last appearance, great episode, Down for the count was one of my first vhs purchases, well worth the money. Thanks Lazarus.
Another great trailer. It is great to see John Diehl getting the spotlight in an episode centered on the sport he loves so much. I've cut my teeth in the media as a boxing writer and I've dealt with such types, your editing and soundtrack choices gives an edge affirming the looming tension. Congrats!
I think the final scene in the part 1 when Stan finds Larry is the most powerful scene in Miami Vice. Michael Talbott's acting feels too real in that small episode, easily the best acting piece in the whole show.
Hi Lazarus A Game, those 2 "Down for the count" episodes (episodes 12 and 13 in season 3) directed by Richard Compton are so dark ones that I've been VERY impressed and never forgot Zito's death scene at the very end of part 1 (when Switek goes through the door at the Boxing place on your self made trailer). Michael Talbott (Stan Switek) and John Diehl (Larry Zito) were funny characters so Zito's death put me in deep sadness, I just wanted a revenge in part 2 with the killer to suffer a lot before dying. The music in this trailer makes me feel Lazarus also think Zito and Switek partnership didn't deserve this fatal ending! Like the Cuda and Stringray chasing the Testarrossa scene in part 2. The original music used in part 2 were for examples Jimi Hendrix "All Along The Watchtower", Billy Idol "Don't Need a Gun", Steve Miller Band "I Want To Make The World Turn Around" and of course Steve Winwood "There's A River" at Zito's death in part 1. The casting in both episodes showed a lot famous people like Don King (M. Cash), Randall "Tex" Cobb (Moon), Mark Breland (Bobby Sykes), Pepe Serna (Oswaldo Guzman), Chris Elliott (Danny in part 2), Robert Pastorelli (Vespa in part 2)... Those 2 episodes are MUST WATCH ones. Thank you Lazarus for the great job creating the trailer (and also to Dick Wolf for the script) Note: Joe Dallessandro, who plays Alfredo Giulinni in part 2 and was first seen at Andy Warhol La Factory, already played as Vincent DeMarco in a 1st season Miami Vice episode "One Eyed Jack" (1.06).
Absolutely! I really enjoyed the show's editing when Switek takes down Guzman. Stan would never forget how Guzman took the life of his best friend. Thank you so much for watching!
@@lazarusagame Yes, in part 1 and 2 Stan Switek's face is very expressive... Those 2 episodes are tributes to Larry Zito and his partnership, kinda brotherhood, with Switek.
Thank you, Paul. Yes, that wide shot of Switek running into that far room always reminded me of the final shot in "The French Connection", so that's what I wanted to end this trailer with. Thanks so much for watching!
Too bad John D quit the show. All I ever saw him in after that was some Buick commercials and a cameo in "Pearl Harbor". Zito was a kind of droll, down to earth character and his verbal jousting and dry humor with Zwitek was a nice offset to the often flashy screenplay and action of the series. He probably objected to being used a comic relief type in a very serious series, as scripted in the "Made for Each Other" episode, goldfish and all.
Yes, it's a shame as he could've played a much more serious role and added a lot more to the show. After Zito, I will always remember him in his starring role in an episode of The X-Files. The season six episode is called "Trevor". He was so good in that. Anyway, thanks so much for watching!
Larry was not in these episodes. Breland and Cobb were the only fighters with roles in these episodes. Alexis Arguello had a role in "Milk Run" back in season one. Anyway, thanks for watching, Little Holmes. Much appreciated.
