Thanks! I agree, but this is not my practice table. It's the RU-vid table. I practice at my local pool hall at the same table where Ralf Souquet practices, with brutal pockets. Also, depending on the situation it sometimes make sense to practice on wider pockets, for example to gain confidence before a big match.

I enjoyed watching this! Here's an edit idea -- might be good, might not be. You're showing where the cue is being struck. What'd be cool if you could also show how the player is hitting the ball (draw, follow, stun, stun-follow, etc.) and the percentage of strength that the player thought they hit the ball. You might say "you can see that!", but the terminology will be good for players.

This format has fantastic potential. My opinion is that you don't need the shot clock in this application. I know how it adds a nice element for the players, but for your audience of students I feel like its almost a distraction. Instead, I personally would actually like to hear MORE of your thought proccess while shooting. As an example, pointing out where you are thinking you want to land before each and every shot. We are getting a lot of your thought process, but there are times when you're not thinking out loud. Love this though❤

Do you hold your breath when you shoot? I can hear you breathing heavily, because of the mic pick up. It "appears" you stop breathing when youre down to shoot and exhale after your shot? Just curious my friend. Great video!💯💯💯
@Sharivari
@Sharivari Месяц назад
I actually noticed this breathing pattern while editing the video. It might be due to the positioning of the microphone which changes slightly with my posture. However, I definitely take deeper, more intense breaths while I'm standing. Then, as I get down for the shot, I calm my breathing. I wasn't aware I did this until I heard it in the playback.

Hello, I'm Nakata from Indonesia. I really like your videos, I feel like I want to hone my billiard skills and be more enthusiastic about focusing on the world of billiards, because I really like playing billiards since I was 10 years old, but I am always hindered by equipment where I don't have billiard sticks. which is adequate which makes me feel very difficult to further improve my playing skills, if I may ask you to help me🙏🙏, because I believe asking for help does not mean we are weak or incompetent. This usually shows a high level of honesty and intelligence and I also believe A strong individual is one who asks for help when he needs it. and I apologize if I'm not good at English 🙏🙏🙏
@lowspeed69
@lowspeed69 Месяц назад
Billiard is about practice. The more you play n practice, the more you get better n lucky. While cue is important (for me) because every player have their own recipes. Try the cheapest you can get in the market and master it and you will get consistent play. If you can rent billiard table, impossible if you cant buy cheapest cue (saving up will be necessary). 50:07 What is "pushing out" in pool?!
@Jimmy984
@Jimmy984 Месяц назад
A "Push" happens after the break. The next player up, either the "breaker" if he sunk a ball or the opponent if nothing was sunk has the option to "push" the ball. A "push" is a hit on the cue ball in which the player can move the ball anywhere on the table (even hitting another ball or pocketing one) without penalty. The opposing player then has the option to take the next shot or pass it back to the "pusher". The idea is to move the cue ball into a position where it would be difficult to pocket the next ball in rotation. I try to "push" into a position where I think my opponent will have difficulty sinking the ball and where my chances are better
@procrastinator6902
@procrastinator6902 Месяц назад
I have a question about Florian because he did something that I've seen many players do, but I never understood why or the purpose of it: When he's down on his shot, why does he tap the fingers of his bridge hand against the table sometimes?
@thebreak4081
@thebreak4081 Месяц назад
I believe you have seen Carlo Biado doing it more often than others... I'm not certain but I have a theory behind this however... the finger tappings are probably done for adjustments.. mainly because if you want to reposition your bridge then moving your whole palm might cause you to miscalculate your aim that you were already set on (because mostly we only get down to a shot when everything is set and only fixing the aim is left) Again, if you want to use sidespin then you could use either your shooting hand or your bridge hand..and if you choose the latter option then those finger tappings is a good way to adjust your measurement of sidespin while ensuring the stability of your cue and shooting hand
@Sharivari
@Sharivari Месяц назад
Interestingly, I use my pinky finger for this. It's something I wasn’t even aware of until someone mentioned it in the comments on my videos. If you check out some of my GoPro footage, you might catch it happening. For me, there’s no specific purpose behind it-it seems to just be a reaction from the nerves in my hand while forming the bridge. It’s not something I actively decide to do. From what I know, it’s the same for Florian; it’s not a conscious choice but more of an involuntary action that occurs under intense concentration.
@dustinp26
@dustinp26 Месяц назад
I tap sometimes, it helps me feel a balanced and stable bridge hand. If you're too far forward with your arm, hand or general body weight, it feels uncomfortable to tap like that.
@procrastinator6902

I was really looking forward to seeing this as I thought from your advertisement of it that we were going to see from your perspective. I was thinking that you were going to walk us through a quick shot explanation ie; what English you are going to use to get where and what you want to accomplish within that particular shot. To be honest I can go down to the local on any given day and watch two friends shoot a friendly game. Maybe you can do something like I was saying in the future
@procrastinator6902
@procrastinator6902 Месяц назад
Here's a simplified explanation of english and how it's used: Determine where you need the cue ball to end up when contacting a rail after a shot. If it needs to go the right, you'll put right english on it, if it needs to come straight back off the rail you use a bit of inside (left if the object ball is to the left of the cue ball, vice versa if it's to the right), and if it needs to come back left then put left on it. Everything else about hitting the cue ball applies. Center ball for a tangent line shot, bottom for draw, and top for follow. Obviously there's some nuance and a bit of refining to this, but with that knowledge I could determine exactly where they were going to hit the cue ball before the icon appeared in the corner and knew how they would hit it on shots that it wasn't there for. The rest is hitting the object ball correctly with the english and good speed control.
@Sharivari
@Sharivari Месяц назад
The way we did it was more for advanced players. But I can imagine doing another match, purely focusing on spin and cue ball path.
@jwowen7538
@jwowen7538 Месяц назад
@@procrastinator6902 now I’m really confused- what is a tangent line, inside, outside, object ball???- I just hold my stick over the ball and the pocket and smash the cue ball into where my stick pointed and and kaboom! A trick I learned is to hit them really really hard so that if it doesn’t go into that pocket it can bounce off of the rails 7-8 times and go into another pocket and then you can shoot again. It only works if you hit them almost as hard as you can though
