MsMad Lemon Its a government organisation, they can't support a political motive. They wouldn't let you say 'long live Israel' either. Not saying I agree, but that's the reason they give. I mean I see a lot of political motives supported by the BBC, but I'm a paranoid schizophrenic. :)
Unfortunately there's no such thing as freedom of speech anymore especially in the UK with this conservative government seeing people as disposable slaves to achieve what they want ! There even thinking about abolishing the human rights act so they can do as they wish !
Kieren Lee Are you a bloody idiot the Conservative have done nothing worse than Labour starting a war in a foreign country for oil, lets not forget that Milliband supported it from the beginning. They want to create a British Human rights bill like America has rather than the one that we are already signed up to which a lot of legal professionals feel is outdated. As Akala might say you need to "Get Educated" since you have no clue what your talking about. I don't even like the conservatives but don't blame something that happened 4 years ago on the current government when firstly the censorship happened just after the Coalition started. Secondly all political supports have to be countered hence why when they had Lowkey on he was asked not to mention palatine. It has nothing to do with the conservatives
Mate you clearly know fuck all ! the conservatives were in power 4 years ago so that shows how much you know so please don't beg to me about the conservatives because I'm not gonna listen ! And making a human rights bill that almost copy's america's isn't gonna work clearly you've not been watching the news for the past 4 years ! America is taking peoples rights away from them and they don't even know it and before you try to argue let me give you a example the NSA is a government sponsored organisation designed to spy on its own people, not for the benefit of the people but for the SELECT FEW that are in power there also trying to censor the media for example the BBC blocking out free Palestine In mic's lyrics ! You don't realise that it's people like you that aid the power hungry politicians by being ignorant and not opening your eyes for yourself ! So before you try to prove me wrong you should know what your talking about first......
It kills me coming back to this in 2021 just reminds me that Mic has always been a beast and deserves so much more but even this early the writing was on the wall, censoring FREE PALESTINE if the powers do not like your message its so much harder to break out, thank god Righteous is still with us and has a loyal following because we can't all be told who we should listen to. Big up the real ones Mic Righteous, Akala, Lowkey and Rest in Power Black the Ripper. PEACE
Charlie's annoying, but he's helped a lot of artists find their feet. You might not like his showmanship, his djing... hell, you might not like a lot of things about him. One thing you need to give him credit for is that he's good for the scene. He's in a position to help artists and he helps them.
Showing he’s real as the BBC would never endorse that he’s the realist that’s why although he’s the best he ain’t known mainstream and on p which is a shame as many rappers touch politics or the status quo and still come through :(
@@christophertucker4917 Freedom of Expression is not a right in many countries! I think freedom of expression is a lot more uncommon in general, and this goes for most of the WEST
Verse 1: [Mic Righteous] These are words of a broken man Working a hopeless plan Hoping the plan will work Watching the candle burn The hour hand turns When will we have our turn I wish you had a heart, yeah How desperate does somebody have to be to have you help them? Since when has anyone got anywhere from acting selfish? I stay alone at night, wonder why I ain't rolling right Snakes try convince me friends are tryna control my life That's a load of hype I chose the mic, the stage, the name Righteous; write it on the page, along with the date I wouldn't say it's not a game It's the biggest game that's full of snakes and little fakes seeing my face but nothing comes on dinner plates So still I pray still I stay down with the same pals that have been from day Big mistake tried to run, didn't get away trick move especially after everything we've been through The world shares different views Big zoot, window, bars, intro, instro, task Why am I that gets the info last? I draw this piff and then I take a big old blast Coz this no bar, listen Searching for value happiness hurts Kelsie what happened to her, like so many other trapped in the dirt The passion's a curse, we all say we had it the worst Yeah you had it bad At least you ain't in the back of the hearse That's when it's done I reach through the speaker capture your love We trapped in the slum, look what the manner has done to us Brothers are undercut become another number stop judging us I got love for every one of ya We deny that we can only advance, and those that think they can't are lost in they art Mind lost in they heart, body lost in their mind So go back to the start back to the passion the past You are not gonna find the man that you are If you cower in the face of a challenge travel your path I ain't tryna rap for a car, or rap for a yard, or rap for a bitch that's gonna max out my card See I rap for the man that hasn't got garms In fact, hasn't got anything you spat in that bar That's why I spat in your face coz you were flashing your papes You see my mandem are real and you mandem are.. Drakes Straight, in other words fakes You think I'm'a turn ape for this game Keep your deal you're too bait I'm too straight just to appeal to the women I believe if you're real they'll just feel what you're spitting It's an evil world what we live in our children are in it That's why your children are loose that's why you're children are missing All you got is dirty dishes and bills in the kitchen It's real when you've seen it I feel like I'm slipping up Never dissing my avid listener you question am I real enough Maybe I overdid it Is it, I ain't did it enough? I don't want my old fans to look at me in disgust And discuss: "why's he always try'n'a make a number one?" It's a must, this ain't changing me I still have the same beliefs I can scream, "FREE PALESTINE" Die for my pride, still pray for peace Still burn a fed for the brutality they spread over the world Pakistan's an ocean Bodies in the brown water floating and still nobody helps I have to take a 'old of myself Coz right now I feel a need to bang my head against this flippin' desk They want my commercial side, trust me this ain't one of them Sorry if I messed up, yo I just want your love again Coz this is bout as real as I'mma get You the ones I represent and will til there's nothing left Once again, never dissing my avid listener You the ones I can't forget let me explain from start to end When I wrote my first bar it wasn't after rep Nah blud, I did it for expression In the hope you could relate to my past and present But when you haven't got a friend, mother and you're father's left All you got is words, cardboard and a frickin' Parker pen And the love you once had in the start Starts to end, inside you die Fam I'm like, how can I provide for my family or my mandem on some 9 to 5? That's why I try, with the one thing that I can do in this life of mine And that is write these bars beca' our lives are hard And this music is our light in the dark I'm try'n'a shine So forgive me if that's wrong But for my conscious listener, this is your song, like Some music we make for the shelves But this music, dawg, we make for ourselves And this for you for my heart so you know we mean it We speak about your daily struggles 'cos we lived and seen it And that's why the mission is to act now Acts realising that your life is real, no acts wow So while the UK is flyin', I'm'a jump on board So for my avid listener this is who I done this for
I love Charlie. Without him I wouldn't have found; Lowkey, Akala, Logic, BlackTheRipper and so on. He has always been helping the underground scene, and in my eyes he is the GOAT of this dj thing. No other Dj has done more for the underground community. @CharlieSloth
Im From Sweden but the mcs from UK is dope. Akala, Mic righteous, lowkey, they got the best lyrics I have ever heard ever, any album any artist any track any time
Rocky, your music puts fire in my blood when i need the anger, it makes me cry like a child when i need to feel sad. This world needs you brother. I need you. Much love bro x
The way BBC censored "Palestine" is one of the reasons why I say fuck the mainstream media. Big up Mic Righteous. I've made a spoken word/poem video about Palestine, I'd appreciate it if anyone checked it out. Peace.
2023 we here, Mic Righteous one of the realist to ever do it in the uk. Love to read the comments and see how much real music like this means to people. Real recognise real💯
This is still that go-to when my cursor is blinking in the search box and you can't think what to write. Listened to it the day it was uploaded and probably average a listen a week over the past 8 years. Madness.
Good shout...i was thinking the same thing...not sure if its coz the beat hes spitting on is very Eminem like...his flow just sounded like Em to me...great fire in booth though
***** No I agree with you that he's unique, part his flow at times on thee beats were Eminem-esque so to speak - Mic's inflections and tone are completely different - both quality anyways
One of the best Fire in the Booth. Only Part2 can top this. Akalas first one also dope! UK hiphop seems underrated. Lowkey,Mic RIghteous, Akala, English Frank.. so many dope underground artists.
I think his lyrics are pretty decent, considering a lot of modern HipHop has just been watered down with awful lyrics and autotune. Grime on other hand is still keeping it real, in the "streets", for the most part at least. Although, this is more of a UK Hip Hop track than a Grime track but still. I still prefer Wiley though, personally.
Steven Hunter when you said 'the ones that created Black Americans'...were you meaning the American rulers and elite or slave traders or did you mean something different entirely?
