Hello. I'm a biginner about the soldering process of pickups and I would have some questions. Could you give me any tips about the soldering equipment that need to be used to carry out these works? What's the minimum power of the soldering iron (watt) in your opinion? . 48W could be enough? What is the temperature that you usually set up your soldering device at? 350°C (~660 F)? Thank you in advance.
im new on your channel. and have picked up some great info from you. ive also noticed you seem to get a hold of a lot of squire strats. my question is are there any squire series that just need to be avoided. and since you see so many would you say the quality, feel and sound is consistant from one guitar to the next?
May have been a Diamondback humbucker also by Fender. Who knows? Great work for a good kid. Love the vid. With that switch I was surprised you didn't have a split option on the HB.
Your way of soldering the wires is very strange and if I used the same thing in electronics I would make a lot of cold joints when the wire moves before the solder cools down. After all, it's not a problem to put the end of the wire in a loop so that it doesn't move and then I fly in.
Good video but terrible soldering. Why does everyone use a weak micro soldering iron to solder ordinary wires? I only use this in electronics, where soldering and components are sensitive, I still have a 200W transformer soldering iron for work around connecting sensors. It heats up quickly and quickly solders thicker wires or a larger area that dissipates a lot of heat. If bad soldering creates a cold joint, it is quite difficult to repair. Soldering should be quick and short. Why not bend the end of the wire like a hook before soldering? It would hold better and solder better.
