True order among biblical churches does NOT allow a man to be a leader if he has more than one wife. Also, Scripture says a man who marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery, and NO adulterer will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mica's law needs to be a Congressional bill. It should be consistant across all of the US. No one should have to live under the cercomstances that Mica and so many other people have had to live through wheather you are a man or a woman.
The issue is the description the lawyer gave us too broad. May the reason there is no progress on the bill. I agree that it is absolutely needed but they need a way to narrow it down or have a way for women to be assessed for abuse and then have that as the basic for legal action.

@@MegsyPato November 2022, the NSW Parliament passed the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Coercive Control) Act 2022. From July 2024, coercive control will be a criminal offence in NSW when a person uses abusive behaviours towards a current or former intimate partner with the intention to coerce or control them The only other Australian state that has it is Tasmania.
Thank you Regina Ward for such a concise and meaningful description of coercive control. Even women who have lived it have a difficult time describing it.

Miller said that the necklace was given to him at the hospital where her body was first brought. My guess is that she was then taken to the funeral home where he "laid with her 4 times and tried to raise her from the dead." Miller is one sick SOB.
Yeeesssss!!!! Those of us who’ve been failed by the police & judicial systems because we have been abuse severely via coercive control… YES. I love this lawyer & we need more of her all over for women. She KNOWS HER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STUFF. Lawyer Woman is a force to be reckoned with. I have immense respect for her - and for her stand to fight for this Coercive Control bill to become the law. Misuse of the mental health system and medical system happens far too frequently. The abuser is a master at gaslighting even those who should know better. Please let there be something good come from this tragedy. The children also suffer even if they're not directly abused. My ex poisoned my daughter's relationship with me, it took years to fix. We live together now though, he only sees her when he needs her. He got her addicted and abandoned her. I was the one who was there to help raise her son, pay her lawyer and support her through a diversion program. He tried to make her a criminal like he was. This can happen to anyone, I was a college educated person with a career but wasn't taught about healthy relationships. If I knew how to give young people the strength to stay out of unhealthy relationships, I'd tell the world! Single isn't fatal ladies!
It happened to me 6 years ago and I’m still reeling and dealing with many damaging repercussions including brain trauma and complex trauma, autoimmune diseases and anxiety intermittent homelessness and self isolation and less than zero self esteem. I, too, am college educated and intelligent and a decent loving person but I am not who I was - so much is just gone and his life did not skip a beat. I pray for justice and laws in Mica’s honor
Thank you for continuing to share information and progress. My heart just breaks to know how many people, men, women and children had suffered abuse at the hands of people that was supposed to be there for them as their loved ones and not abusers. Thank you to everyone that has ever stood up and spoken out or acted to defend or help the abused. Thank you to every brave person that has spoken up about their abuse, it takes a lit of courage, you are extremely brave and very loved. Those who find themselves in an abusive relationship, please do not give up and do not let someone else rob you of your life but contact someone to help you deal with the situation and start making plans to get away safely (remember, do not talk about your plans wit the abuser because this puts you in a lot of danger?), you are loved ♥️.

I went through this with my ex. He would always threaten to call cops on me and the cops would never do anything. He would hit me but not on my face to leave marks. He threw me across the room and broke my elbow and the first aid crew told police but because there were no marks they wouldn’t do anything. I was physically, mentally and emotionally abused. He degraded me for 8 years and I am trying to learn to work through this trauma.
Mica's family lawyer just defined a narcissist and a narcissist behavior toward their significant other as she described "Mica's Law." It's quite obvious why it has sat in the Judiciary committee for so long, it's content says it all..and it should be made a law in all 50 states of the USA. 🇺🇲

#MicaLaw the spouse and or the next kin must not have the automatic right for cremation before the autopsy and toxicology examination is done no matter what the medical examiner reports And no matter what the spouse says nobody must not have the right to force the individual to a mental health treatment unless thorough medical reports taken from at least two independent source backs up the necessity
One key fact about coercive control that this attorney missed is its potential to cause severe brain damage and PTSD, which is often misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder, BPD, ADHD, and other conditions. I suspect this was the case with Mica. After leaving my ex, I had a brain scan done and it was comparable to that of a prisoner of war. I am praying that this bill comes to fruition.
AND IT SHOULD INCLUDE "TRIANGULATION" of the Victims Children and/Victims Relatives, Counselors, etc...and include any forms of Counseling, Treatment, Medications, Diagnoses without Historical Input by Victims Family Members, any orders to Take MMPI-2 Tests done under any means of FRAUD and/or Manipulation...and it should include further being victimized when Spouse or Partner tells others you are "Diagnosed" of ANY DISORDER or SUICIDAL which should be protected under HIPPA

While the intent behind the coercive control bill is sound, there are instances in which a person doesn’t know they are being isolated. They don’t always know they are being abused. My late mother always claimed she was an only child and that all of my relatives were dead. The snooping was endless. She recently passed and I am finally unraveling all of the lies.

you are correct, its a good idea... BUT, the abuser manipulates the victim and brainwashes them. Additionally they are blamed for everything..... and if they go against the abuser, they are punished even more......Sadly, it is doubtful this bill will ever go anywhere or that the victim (friends/family) would even go to the authorities.

My mom had multiple miscarriages and when I came along, I was expected to fix all the marital problems. Babies never make things better or easier. It seems like it wouldnt really matter if there was a coercive control law or not because the cops in that town seem more apt to protecting and believing jp over mica!?! Did she really have a restraining order in place against him? and yet, he was still contacting her, calling her, stalking her and police basically ignored it? Jp calls police because people are driving past his house according to him with a gun and 20 cops show up... So im glad something is being put into place in her name and i think its an important law, but it has to be applied usually by police first and nothing was done to help mica that i can see by the police force in myrtle beach 💜 feel free to correct me if im wrong. Indeed . The laws will never change whilst the abusers have public power & influence . Laws written by men and for men …. Not likely to change if our politicians have their way If these senators and reps are continually ignoring the suggested amendments let’s not be surprised when, in 20-50 years our grandaughters and great granddaughters , are still being treated as disposable objects and experiencing same lack of justice by law enforcement . We recently remembered the appalling abuse Nicole Simpson suffered decades and decades ago bc her husb was OJ . Depp was hero worshipped & exonerated less than 2 yrs ago bc he’sJack Sparrow , rather than being held to account for his blatant coercive control of his 30 yrs younger wife . Fans constantly excuse celebrities yet naively think Gabby Petito and Micah will get things changed for everyday women 🙄. If only !!!!! . How can we get this put into place for all states???? EVERYTHING listed is exactly what i went through, what we have all probably been through. EVERY human being needs this protection. Im in Louisiana where it seems like the court system has normalized all types of abuse and issues slaps on the wrist.
Shouldnt it be a law that if a person dies under suspicious circumstances and there was dv involved or a divorce pending or restraining order against estranged partner..shouldnt it be that family has jurisdictional pre-eminence over the body for autopsy, burial choices and to stop cremation over the partner or spouses desires? To properly investigate and record the body before a rushed burial or especially a cremation...

Just like John Walsh pushed and finally was able to get laws changed so across the states missing children could be found and police could share information and cases together, Mica’s law needs to be pressed into action. Gather other stories and add a compilation of how many people have been failed by the inadequate, antiquated system of laws and let’s get this law applied across ALL states of the USA! Push and press forward! Have a cause and utilize all resources to get it out there so voices can be raised! 💫
There needs to be laws in place to protect children and still have to pay for your child or children. I can't get child support to support my disabled daughter because it gives him rights which puts her in danger. There's no protection for children. He tried to kill me with her in my arms when she was an infant. We have to sit and suffer in order to keep her safe. They need to have to support their children while ensuring their safety.
And JP kept preaching and was allowed to by that church. I really like the wording of person in authority. I was married to a former police officer who was like Drew Peterson. He had been in my doctor's office and did alot of the same things including an attempt to make it look like a suicide. Offering me his gun and I couldn't get the deputies to hand him a protection order that was signed by the judge. If this law had been in affect, my ex would be in prison. I would testify on this bill in a heartbeat. Speaking from first hand experience. Several wives before me including the most recent before me died by suicide. I did a podcast interview that was wanted for a script. I'm ready to write it now after seeing this.
You need to get justice for Mica and her family and not waste time giving more power to the government. There are laws in place already they just need to be enforced. Stay focused on finding out the truth of what happened to Mica. Not all this federal bill making.
When dealing with the government, there has to be solid proof and following the court papers accordingly. The solid proof would have to be text messages, photos, and eyewitnesses, not speculation. He said,she said gets thrown out..
They finally passed this bill, took long enough. It took a case like poor Micas too make others realize what goes on. I like so mamy others have endured this horrific abuse and glad ppl are starting to take it seriously
