Bro there’s another clip where Micah tries to move one of them not sure if it’s the same guy but Micah went hard like 3 times and sumo guy moved back like 3 feet once 😂 he’s never blocked a guy in his life and goes against one of the greatest rushers on earth. Extremely impressive
Man I just love the love in the room, don’t need to speak same language just a bunch of dudes from way different backgrounds having fun and laughing.. same way most of us would.
Why dont they have more sumo wrestlers as offensive linemen. Sumo wrestling is perfect for offrnsive lineman. Its a huge part of there culture for one also they have great hand work
@michaela.kelley7823 they aren't tall enough, and they care about being famous for being great at sumo. They don't care about America. They have too much pride in their own country and culture to disrespect it like you are suggesting.
Note that the sumo wrestler is at another disadvantage in that Micah didn't wear "mawashi" belt which is something he would go for to grab the opponent to have better control over him. The sumo wrestler was playing a receiver intentionally.
That's not how sumo wrestling works lol, especially when you've got a man equaling your weight pushing against you. He did the easy thing rd1 and used Micah's force to flip him out, but Micah did pretty good that second round.
@@sixxjrno, it’s bc they’re pro athletes, making a lot of money. In their contract there’s loopholes to pay a guy less if he gets injured on his own tho
@@Noboxingnolife69people like you say these thing and it always makes me wonder … Amongst great athletes you are always goi to find an all time athlete … Great 🧬 are Great 🧬 If they scouted these guys , the chances are a few historically good line men would have come out of it … Shohei Ohtani is the closest thing to a baseball cartoon character we have ever seen … The moment the NBA really went global , now we have Embiid, Giannis, Jokic, Wembayama, Doncic etc all foreign players a the very top of the league … something people like you would have said wasn’t possible 30 years ago …
there's a lot more to football than being able to win 1v1 reps. linemen need a lot of lateral quickness, need to understand not only their own blocking assignments, but also defensive schemes and techniques. also sumo you're only doing a few handful of matches, each lasting usually a few seconds - football you're in the game for 50-70 snaps. offensive linemen are often the highest iq players on the field other than qb, so putting someone who hasn't even played the game before and training them up is very hard - even relatively "stupid" position groups like RB have had a hard time converting players from other sports successfully.
It’s crazy because when I was little I was obsessed with watching SUMO Wrestling 😂 People are quick to overlook them because of how they look but as you can see they’re real legitimate Athletes.
I watched a video breaking down why sumos aren't in the NFL. Pretty much, they are too slow to play in the NFL. Too slow to be a defensive tackle or end, as well as too slow to be an offensive tackle. I don't remember the reasons they have for why they would be bad at guard and center but they just are not cut out for the NFL. Sumo wrestling has a different skill set then playing football. I don't think NFL players could hang with sumo wrestlers in sumo either. This wrestler gave Parsons a freebie with that last win. No way he would beat the sumo if he were being serious about it.
Imagine of some legit sumo wrestlers went to the nfl on the Oline. Of course said sumos had been playing football their whole life as well. Would be amazing 💪😎
Its so many fundamentals, mental and physical that goes into football. Its wayyy more than just strength. He has to learn to block properly without grabbing / holding. Work on lateral quickness. Sliding and pulling to run block. Recognizing defensive schemes. Lol im pretty sure its more that im missing but yea. I dnt think it would be that easy of a transition. I think offensive lineman and d lineman should definitely take up sumo wrestling in the offseasons
If all offensive linemen took sumo classes then defensive lines would catch pure he'll getting to the qb. If i was a coach I'd send all my front line guys to class 😂😂
@@edwardgaines6561 yeaa i’d rather them stay where they’re best and comfortable at but hey not a bad idea especially if one is willing to make the transition
@@victorenriquez8702 nope. Parsons is being manhandled by a kid… Think he is ranked somewhere in the top 122 of wrestlers(not certain about that one though)
@@JohnSmith-rr3jtkid was definitely trying to flip him in the second round as well bro job is literally pushing past linemen was kinda unfair tho because Micah could pick him up because of his clothes but the sumo kid couldn’t do the same
The Sumo Wrestler would've moved Micah around like a toy if he was going full speed and strength. Plus Micah had a runup too 😂 Love this vid man. Def humbling for MP here you can tell
Good Lord…what Micah Parsons just did is the equivalent of Bruce Lees’ 2-inch punch. Micah literally generated that much force with a half of a step. Now imagine if that was a 200 pound running back stutter steppin thru the A gap. That’s damn near criminal
Black Mawashi belt means that wrestler is a low ranked wrestler. White mawashi is a division 2 or 1 wrestler. You can see the difference in strength when he tried to move the Sekitori ( high rank). Also, I believe the white mawashi wrestler is Wakamotoharu who is a SEKIWAKE, a really high ranked division 1 wrestler
I could see Khalil Mack being able to surprise sumo’s with unexpected power and toss them out his first time trying it. The way I’ve seen him toss O-linemen around with power and leverage is insane for a guy his size.
That sumo wrestler is a 17 year old Tanji 丹治。 He currently fights in a Makushita (3rd division). He’s a young upcoming prospect hoping to make it up to Juryo (2nd division) this year and hopefully Makuuchi (top division) in the next few years.
The fact that Micah can push him at all at his height and weight is crazy. Anyone else is flying. Micah is a monster man and sumo wrestlers should play o line lol
It’s easy to say they should have done more to help JF! This is not a video game! You can’t just sign or trade for good players without giving something up be it money or draft picks. Timing is everything! The players Poles has had the ability to bring in does not happen without great trades, especially the one with Carolina.
