Bravo, Michael! My eyes see an aged Groppler Zorn from the pilot episode of "Next Gen." My ears hear Duke the, "Real American Hero." My heart and soul feel the voice of Dr. Banner from 1982's animated Hulk.
Groppler Zorn is Duke in disguise!?!? I didn't get to see GI Joe too much when it was first on so I didn't make that connection. Now I have to look it up
The continuing levels of ignorance and dismissal towards actors who do voice-over animation as opposed to facial on-camera irritates me to no end. I laughed so hard when Mr. Bell relayed the story about hesitation and disbelief about not being able to "recreate" a voice that they once did "so long ago". I would have loved to have heard the reactions of the person who called him and got an earful of a fake, forced cranky old man!! I listen to Mr. Bell speak in his normal tone of voice, and I still hear Zan (the Exxorian male half of The Wonder Twins).
