Well it now appears that all the forensic evidence supports officer Wilson's version of events. The facts are that Michael Brown, a criminal who was resisting arrest, was shot while attempting to murder a police officer whom he had already physically assaulted. Had he survived his wounds, he would now be in a prison hospital facing charges for robbery, assault, resisting arrest, and attempted murder. But since you are an admitted racist, you only consider race, while ignoring the facts. The character of these two individuals means nothing to you. You support a thug simply because he is black, and condemn a police officer simply because he is white. I'm sure you will be so upset by these revelations that you will go beat up some more white boys in protest.

Peter Schiff hi Pete !.. I figured this is the way it would turn out , it's unfortunate for the black community , but they've got to stop being so idiotic , and be careful not to support /condemn someone just because of their skin color , you think they would have learned something with Obama

In other news, a USC football player quit today, claiming that his coach was "racist" and that he was being "treated like a slave". The entire rest of the team immediately jumped to the coach's defense, and publicly called the player out for how lazy he'd been throughout camp and how poor of an attitude he'd had. Yet another example of people playing the race card in situations that have nothing to do with race.

Clay ton Ha Funny, its not about what the black person did, its about what the police did. They killed some one when he could've just shot him in the knee or hip. Not only that but the sheer fact that the police are shooting rubber bullets to peaceful protester(while letting the rioters riot) and tear gassing media. You have to the be stupid or not paying attention to not realize that the police are using their power wrongly
@Tripster60
@Tripster60 10 лет назад
Clay ton Lets not focus on the petty crimes he committed and focus on the police not doing there jobs correctly. Lets focus on the abuse of power rapid in this country with police. Lets focus on how the "star" officer got beaten when he had a gun. Lets just see how and why it all happens. Oh wait, that makes too much sense to worry about why they are killing 18 year olds for walking the streets and stilling 5 dollars worth of stuff. Ha

***** wow, You're a complete idiot. It isn't possible top just try to wound a guy running at you. The officer shot for times and paused to assess. Apparently, according to the autopsy, Brown was hit only in the arms. Then the officer shot four more times, hitting Brown in the head. So, though it was unintentional, the cop did EXACTLY WHAT YOU SUGGESTED and still had to shoot the apparently-high Brown again.

Mr. Stock I have been in law enforcement for many years and I can say this. When you are walking in the middle of the street that is called impeding traffic which is a law. The officer had a lawful reason to stop the two men. When the men disobeyed the officer that is another charge "disobeying a lawful order of a police officer" so he had a legal reason. And I do believe you. I don't think the officer knew because the officer would have performed a felony takedown. That's when you exit your car with your gun already drawn on the individual. But who did know? Michael Brown! So either he is going to fight or run to evade arrest. Been there and done that.

I love listening to @peterschiff and because of that I wish he would stick to talking about the markets. Whats disgusting is the lack of empathy that you show. I saw the same thing from you during the Trayvon Martin case. Some of us as Americans have reached the level where we completely lack the sympathy and empathy to sympathize with a child fresh out of high school who laid face down dying in the summer heat for hours after being killed. If all that we have is apathy towards that then we have lost a bit of our humanity. Yet another unarmed American was gunned down by the people who are suppose to be protecting us. I don't give a damn if the cop was racist, I don't give a damn if the child was a so called thug. Every American should be given due process, it is our constitutional right. The child didn't have a gun or any type of weapon and he was shot several times, allegedly with his hands up in a symbol of surrender and allegedly at a non threatening distance. The police officer was the judge, jury and the executioner, is that the America you want to live in? I see you're very comfortable right now while its black people being treated like this but I assure you an out of control government or police department doesn't give a damn about race. If other races as a whole continue to sit with folded arms while the police and government get more out of hand its only a matter of time before you're turning on your tv and seeing white parents crying because some cop has murdered their unarmed child. Its already been a couple cases like that and it will continue to grow if people don't realize that if this is how they treat those who are perceived to be at the bottom in America, eventually they will turn their bullets on you as well! This isn't just a black people cop problem, this is an American people cop problem. Talking the way you are in response to situations like this just makes all of our rights as Americans that much easier to trample on.

***** Afro-centric WTF are you talking about? I argued that it was an American problem not a race problem. Whats Afro-centic about that? One of us has the wrong definition of afro-centric so please copy and paste the statement I made that was"afro-centric". You're right, your pathetic life has nothing to do with me., I agree. "Cops shot assholes both White and Black each and every day in America. Michael Brown was just another asshole shot to death for being a vicious thug and if that's not enough "empathy" out of me for your liking you can go and fuck yourself." This is exactly what I'm talking about, disgusting! And fortunately you're in the minority and most people don't think like you. But I actually don't care that you have that view because you're not in a position to affect anyones life, hell you probably don't even take care of yourself or have the means to affect your own life.
@rodneyblh
@rodneyblh 10 лет назад
***** my only question is this, do you believe the constitutional right of due process should be there? Even if I concede the point that this kid was a filthy thug who not only just robbed a store but who probably did drugs sold drugs or whatever other thing you can come up with. Do you think in America, keep in mind this happened in America, do you think even if he knocked the cop out, that killing someone with their hands up in a position of surrender (which is a none threatening position) is justifiable if you're a police officer, someone who is their to serve and protect the public?
@rodneyblh
@rodneyblh 10 лет назад
***** You're right I'm just assuming your life is terrible and although I get the impression I'm right, it has nothing to do with the topic. And are you suggesting that because I'm opposed to executing criminals without them having due process that I am in support of criminals and criminal behavior? That sounds a lot like George Bush saying you're anti american if you're not for the war in Iraq. I mean the logic is just ridiculous.
@rodneyblh
@rodneyblh 10 лет назад
***** but even if he is a violent criminal who goes around terrorize people, in America we have a constitution that guarantees all Americans, even or especially the worst of us to due process. So its disturbing when people are so willing to concede those rights being trampled over.

In a cell phone video provided to CNN, two men who were doing construction work on a home near the scene react to seeing Brown shot by Officer Darren Wilson. "He had his f**king hands up," one man says in the recording. The men later spoke to CNN about what they saw. One worker said he heard two gunshots about 30 seconds apart: "The cop didn't say get on the ground. He just kept shooting," the man said. That same witness described the gruesome scene, saying he saw Brown's "brains come out of his head," again stating, "his hands were up." ... The other contractor told CNN he saw Brown running away from a police car. Brown "put his hands up," the construction worker said, and "the officer was chasing him." The contractor says he saw Wilson fire a shot at Brown while his back was turned. The two men in the video spoke under the condition of anonymity to CNN. It is not clear if they are the same construction workers who spoke to St. Louis' Fox 2 and the St. Louis Post Dispatch . “I saw him staggering and running and when he finally caught himself he threw his hands up and started screaming OK OK OK OK OK and then the three officers come through the thing and the one just started shooting," one man told Fox 2 last month.

To me Michael Brown was an impressionable young man. The older smaller guy with him was caught stealing from the same store and released shortly after that. It stands to reason that man pumped this guy up full of shit laying his man card on the line to go get back at the store owner. Thats why the store owner didnt even call the cops in the first place because things only escalated instead of preventing anything. I believe Michael Brown was pumped up by his peers to be the big man who can force people to do what they want and what he wants. Young men are often easily manipulated by people who they look up to,

In New Hampshire, a Family court's decision was allowed to stray into irrelevant and unethically racist areas nonetheless officials of the Administrative Office of the Family Court, Judicial Conduct Committee, Attorney Discipline Office and the NH Supreme Court all refused to review the decision under the doctrine of "strict judicial scrutiny" as exhibiting manifest bias or ill will. The former State Attorney General, now U.S. Senator, also refused to act and neglected to prevent the racial bias then retaliated against the African American father with a false arrest. ..The Chief Justice and Associate Justices tolerated and perpetuated Institutional Racism when it refused to hear the appeal of the race based decision. Judge for yourself “In A.J’s best interest I recommend that he attend the Burnham School in Haverhill MA)….Furthermore, the issue of diversity is real. A. J. would likely find it lonely being the only Black child in a school in NH. He has a rich Black Heritage of which to be proud. He can share with and learn from other children of his color and it can enhance his growing up years in numerous ways. In Haverhill (MA), he has that opportunity far more that it exists in NH.” -, Court Appointed Guardian ad Litem, 07/14/03 “No appeal, however, is declined except by unanimous vote of the court with at least three justices participating. No justice who considered this matter voted to accept this appeal. Accordingly, the appeal was declined. If any justice who considered this matter believed the appeal should have been accepted, this case would have been scheduled for briefing. Declined. Brock, C.J., and Broderick, Nadeau, Dalianis and Duggan, JJ., concurred. Case No. 03-0640, (Declining to hear appeal of Case 02-M-0032), 11/21/03) (No opinion published (intentionally) to hide the denial of equal educational opportunity it from public and legislative scrutiny and prevent a high appeal) “A judge shall perform judicial duties without bias or prejudice. A judge shall not, in the performance of judicial duties, by words or conduct, manifest bias or prejudice, including but not limited to bias or prejudice based upon race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status, and shall not permit staff, court officers and others subject to the judge’s direction and control to do so.” Canon of Ethics, Canon 3 (5) A State may not permissibly engage in deliberate conduct or deliberate omissions that have the foreseeable effect of perpetuating known segregation, where its acts or omissions are undertaken in response to and in accordance with the segregative wishes of others that were known to be racially motivated.” United States v. City of Yonkers, Docket No. 95-6182, 95-6206, U. S. Court of Appeal, (2nd Cir), 96 F.3d 600; 1996 U.S. App. LEXIS 24856. Public officials sworn to uphold the Constitution may not avoid a constitutional duty by bowing to the hypothetical effects of private racial prejudice that they assume to be both widely and deeply held.” 466 U.S. at 433, 104 S.Ct. 1879 (citations omitted). The Constitution cannot control such prejudice, but neither can it tolerate it. Private biases may be outside the reach of the law, but the law cannot, directly or indirectly, give them effect.” Palmore v. Sidoti. 466 U.S. 429 (Race cannot be used in a child custody case involving two natural parents.) "It is nonetheless incumbent upon our judges and attorneys, as sworn officers of the court, to conduct trials in a manner that is consistent with our laws and rules of professional conduct. For trial counsel to deliberately and repeatedly elicit testimony regarding racial bias in contravention of federal law, and for the trial court to allow such testimony to be elicited and to rely upon that testimony in reaching its decision, seems to run counter to both Palmore, supra, and to our rules of professional conduct. It is not asking too much of lawyers and judges to confront racial bias during court proceedings. To the contrary, one would ordinarily consider a court proceeding to be the most likely secular forum where racial bias would be immediately and firmly met with vigorous objections from legal counsel and a stern rebuke from judges sworn to uphold equal protection of the law. It seems ironic that, as we celebrate the fifty-year anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483, 74 S.Ct. 686, 98 L.Ed. 873 (1954),. . . testimony regarding racial bias that would have compelled reversal if a proper objection had been raised. Sadly, this demonstrates that fifty years after Brown, and twenty years after Palmore, in the judicial context, we have not come as far regarding interracial understanding as some observers would believe or hope.". Tipton v Aaron, No. CA 03-932, Court of Appeals of Arkansas, (2004) THE WORLD WE LIVE IN IS ONE WHERE CRIMINAL JUSTICE OFFICIALS ENGAGE IN RACIAL BIAS AND DISCRIMINATION AND DO SO WITH COMPLETE IMPUNITY. The Tipton ruling was the same year as the NH Supreme Courts refusal to hear my appeal.

I will attempt to break down the case with hardly any evidence ONLY on speculation from the media and supposed witnesses. I have been a officer for many years and have trained many officers. also, My department is the 2nd largest department in my state so here we go! One of are biggest concerns with officers is NOT enough force that in the long run will get them hurt. Are officers today are scared of being sued. I have seen to many officer NOT pull there guns in situations where they needed to. Or not use the force necessary they needed for the subject. When I asked why? they said because they did not want to be sued! It is hell, I have been sued twice in my law enforcement carrier that were all frivolous law suits, but it still took years of depositions, constant going to the attorneys officer, your name being smeared etc. it affects you. So do I think there is an overwhelming amount of police brutality? No!, Citizens do not see the every day work that we do, and what REALLY lies under your noses! you do not see us pulling people from burning cars, buildings, etc. You don't see when we pull over to the side of the road just to give someone a ride, you don't see the all the good police do. All that society does is focus on the negative that police do that make up an extremely and I say EXTREMELY low percent. Are some police officers bad? YES just as there are bad teacher, bad doctors, bad judges, and BAD PRESIDENTS who hold the highest of office. We are all human beings and all bleed the same. OK, so....Michael Brown Robbed a store (Fact) he was walking down the road with his friend and was encountered by a police officer to get out the road. Lets break this down! did the officer have legal justification for the stop? Did the officer know that Brown just robbed the store? Was Brown on drugs? In my state someone can not just walk in the roadway. It is what we call "impeding traffic" normally in this scenario the officer just makes verbal contact with a person to tell them to get out the road. We also can use this as a investigative stop. Does it normally end in an arrest NO but is it still a arrestable offence? Yes. So did the officer had legal reason for the stop? I would say yes. Fact (Brown disobeyed the officer and defied to move out the road) When a officer gives you a lawful order as this officer did, this happens to be another charge, it is what we call "disobeying a lawful order of a police officer". Know more than likely this one will end up an arrest due to the complete defiance of the individual. People don't understand when you work an area, people will test the new officers to see what they can and can get away with. You will either be labeled a "bitch cop" (where you don't get out with anyone, don't make arrest, just wave at people, etc) they know they can get by with a cop like that. Then you have your proactive cops that actually do there jobs and the criminals know that you will not take there shit! so when you are on the street and have a 18 year old defy your command the community is watching to see what kind of cop you are. Do you continue and get punked out, or do you stop and stand up to the confrontation. In my experience you take control of the situation! Criminals are smart! they can sense the weak cops from the ones that wont be pushed over. In the long run the cops that are referred to as Bitch cops have it worse because they will constantly be tested and anyone in the hood is laughing right know because you know I am right! Was he on drugs? All I have to say is this. almost all illegal drugs are mind altering and makes a normal person act and conducting in acts that they would not normally do. So if he just committed a robbery just grabbed the clerk around the neck. (basically debo the clerk) what was going on in his mind? A normal person would have been gone, hauling ass!!!! just walking down the road not running? something was wrong which would make me think that he was on drugs. Did the officer know the two subjects robbed the store before he got out with them? I don't think so! a veteran officer will never pull up to two robbery suspects and say " get out the road" that call would justify a felony take down where the officer would immediately exit the car with his gun drawn at the suspect. The officer would have gave loud verbal commands for the both of them to get on the ground. Or, in fairness to the officer he could have turned a corner in his police car and have been automatically confronted with the individuals and was at a tactical disadvantage! The confrontation? Media speculations say the officer has a fractured orbital socket. How did he get that? and who was it delivered from? was it a 4 foot elementary kid, a grand ma, or a 604 teenager 300lbs that was a size of a NFL football player. If size doesn't mean anything would you rather be punched by a 10 year old kid or a line man from the NFL? Know I will give you when a officer can and cannot use deadly force. An officer can use deadly force when he perceives or feels that his or others lives are in imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm! get that people serious bodily harm it does not have to be death. But it will ultimately be determined by the investigators of the reasonableness of the totality of the circumstances. give an example. I just got punched by a grand maw that ways 80lbs and tried to take my gun. I pushed the grand maw out of my car and and drew my gun, I told her to get on the ground. she said " What you gonna shoot me sonnie! and kept walking with a walker towards me. Would it be reasonable for me to shoot her? No! because my physical stature could easily be used to place her under arrest. but in all she still would have been charged with a felony assault on an officer. Know lets flip the scrip, I don't know how big the officer was but he did not look that big in his pictures. He was assaulted by a MAN not child that was 604 300LBS. supposedly his eye socket was fractured. and the man was trying to go for the officers gun. At that point in time it becomes a deadly threat situation and the officer has every means necessary to take the mans life. Not only that but I would be wondering where is the other guy where is he and is he going to join the fight with brown? I heard the officer upholstered his gun and fired shots inside the car (don't know how many shots were fired) Brown exits the car and runs. The officer Jumps out his car and does what he is supposed to do and apprehend a fleeing suspect. whether the officer knew or not that Brown had robbed the store< He knew that he had punched in the face "which is a felony" and can pursue him in attempts for an arrest. Know here is where it gets tricky. Can the officer still shoot a fleeing felon? in some cases yes. but in this one NO. If brown turned around and said he surrendered and got on his knees and the officer shot him, MURDER! and I will tell you as a police officer, he will go to jail but! does hands up mean surrender? I say NO! If Brown turns around and sees the officer pointed his gun at him and say "what you going to shoot me"? If he is moving toward the officer and the officer is telling the Brown to stop and get on the ground "which any cop in his right mind would" than the officer had no other choice but to shoot until the treat stopped. Because Brown had already gave his intent to hurt the officer. If Brown was on narcotics he very well could have not felt the shots and kept moving until the final fatal shot to the head. and I am sorry if this has happened than the officer was well justified in his shooting. I can remember watching my kids play cops and robbers one day. One of my sons that was playing the cop had my other son playing the robber with the a fake plastic gun pointed at him. My son said freeze get on the ground!!!! My other son put his hands up and said don't shoot. I watched my son (robber) walk close enough to my cop son to take his gun away from him. This is a clear distraction tactic that criminal use to close the gap toward the police! If my 5 year old and 7 year old son can do this why cant an adult do this. My conclusion, I know I am going to hear it from the na sayers about the witnesses. and all I have to say is this. You have witnesses that love to be on TV that were never there. They will lie sometimes for there 5 seconds of fame on TV. I have seen it in my police career There are several witnesses that have different stories. Did these witnesses come out after hearing Dorian Johnsons story? and give there story? when every you have witnesses to a crime you separate them immediately from other witnesses. Why because you do not want the witness to be contaminated by other witness statements. and how creditable are the witnesses. So will all that said, God bless everyone!

13:07 OMG This man that makes up his own facts is a professor at Harvard Law School? How does this happen? Saying that there are picture of Michael Brown with his hands up and surrendering and saying he got shot in the back of the head are completely made up. This should be just as embarrassing for Harvard Law school as the Mandela funeral sign language man was for South Africa.

this is Malcolm x and luther kings worst nightmare is been more than 50 years. what do you think went wrong? why are other communities at the other side of the spectrum living a quality of live that is by far superior to that of any minority in this country what do they know that we ignore? why are there kids the new doctors lawyers theoretical physicist inventors, and we are killing each other in the streets over crap... SOMETHING GIVEN HAS NO VALUE, IT HAS TO BE EARNED the invisible man in the sky, who pulling the strings? what is reality? what you see happening is what you see in every religious corner of the world. but religious America is not waking up tomorrow, ignorance rules rationality and clear thinking " OH MY GOD " when the black community throws out religion "the believe in god" and finally wake up to the real reality and realize that they, are in control of there actions.when they decide to take "personal responsibility" things will start to change. this is the true poison they cant get out of there system, is there, but they cant realize is a bad thing. this crap is taught from one generation to the next as evidence and fact. And is not just in the black community where ever you find religion around the world you see misery and war ETC... but am referring to the black community in this case. cause it needs to be addressed. the Christian concept was force on them, why case is simple, is easier to control others with fear. the 3 major religions disagree in everything but all agree that fear is good ingredient for control. HOW CAN THE BLACK COMUNITY BREAK THE SPELL AND MOVE FORWARD? I'll tell you how E D U C A T I O N fill your brains with knowledge and yes knowledge is power the kind of power that will lift this community of its knees those bad people that want you on your knees will go to your communities and invest in churches, liquor stores and allow drugs to flow in. they are not interested in you learning science, biology, physics, mathematics, electronics, the world need inventors, the geniuses in silicon valley, google, apple, are the majority of them coming from the black community? NO!!! the world needs a cure for cancer, the world needs more bill gates and Steve jobs, Einstein's, ETC... right now the black community has nothing to give to the world, but only show that in comparison to other communities around the world they have no education. IF WE WERE TO FIND A PLANET JUST LIKE EARTH AND EVERYONE LEFT EXCEPT THE BLACKS WHEN WE COME BACK 5000 YEARS LATER WILL WE SEE A THRIVING CIVILZATION? WHAT DO YOU THINK? no parent wants there kid dead in streets, but it will continue to happen again and again and again. those who "believe" race was a factor are diluted and ignorant... anytime a young kid dies we all feel sorry and is a human emotion that we cannot ignore, the poor parents are going thru a lo of pain and they'll never recover emotionally, my heart goes out to them. Lets allow the evidence to come in and work with the facts to clear this all out, if the cop is at fault or brown was at fault it needs to be proven beyond a resonable doubt. seems to me based on all the information I've seen so far that brown showed no respect to the officers request, you do not challenge his request is not a negotiation, you simply go on the sidewalk and go on your way. now consider that brown was a very big guy 6"5 300 pounds, if for WHAT EVER REASON the cop feels threatened by his size. he is not going to allow brown to even touch him, he is not going to get physical with brown. the cop will overpower him with his Taser or his gun. unfortunately he used his gun. now the kid is dead. 1 did he deliberately kill the brown in the middle of the street in broad day lite cause he was a white guy that hates blacks it does not add up!!! 2 was excessive force used and did he have no choice but to use it? possibly!!! 3 what is MOST LIKELY based on what we know so far? i believe the officer was put in a position were he had no choice but, the Taser is a better option our kids shouldn't be dying in the street of our great nation cause they disobeyed an officer.

Peter are you not allowed to resist arrest for victimless crimes according to you? (And I am not saying that Michael Brown did a victimless crime or no crime)
@calholli
@calholli 10 лет назад
its POSSIBLE that it is both... mike resisted, and wresled the officer a bit in the cops window, and maybe even hit the cop... BUT THEN, when he decided to run, realized he was hit already and decided to turn and give up.. the cop decided to kill him when he didn't have to.... .. all of the witness stories are the same and support this... I never seen any video where the guy said the kid was shot in the back.. its pretty clear that the cop was mad and let loose his anger, he does not deserve a badge and should be put in jail....... face it, cops are people too, and people make mistakes........ the real problem is that cops don't have any punishment for theirs.. which means they have no incentive to make the right decisions and it only invites other cops to follow, knowing that they are untouchable........... if the police in ferguson would have shown that they will put that cop on trial then there would not have been a single riot.... when no one is there to discipline the government, the people will rise up when it becomes obvious... its an inevitable certainty

Peter, you fail to understand what Jon Stewart's purpose is: He doesn't care whether you or anyone else agrees with him. He doesn't care about facts. His only goal is to use Ridicule to make sure that no one else takes you seriously. That's it. His goal is to poison the public well of ideas and debate so that no one listens to your opinions seriously. This isn't a new tactic either. I highly recommend the 1996 French film, "Ridicule" set in Pre-Revolutionary France to see Jon Stewart's precursors.

I saw a picture of the scene and his body was on the floor with his arms to the side and not up. It's possible he fell to the ground and his arms fell to his sides and not above his head but I think it's worth pointing out. I think giving the cops guns puts them in danger and is the reason he had to shoot before brown got too close. So I don't think the every day cop should be carrying guns, just special cops like SWAT and FBI I'm not american so I've probably said something stupid.

Humans are not made of cardboard, limbs can move in a split second. Falling can cause you to puts your arms in front of you as can being hurt, random muscle spasms can do all sorts of things. Basically, the position of his arms upon death doesnt say much at all beyond the direction he was facing. His injuries do however say that he used his arm as a shield from the bullets. One got passed his arm, entering the eye. Instinct would make you put your head down and cup your eye with your hand and the final shot strikes the top of his head. Instant death, you go down like a sack of potatoes and he ends up on the ground as you saw him.

Er...I'm a Brit too, but having watched loads of documentaries about crime and prisons in the US, I think the only people who would volunteer to be a cop without a gun in the US would have to have a death wish. If your notion were to become reality then a new highly successful series would be on TV...Kamikaze Cops.

I stopped watching the video 1:40 seconds in when Peter started this strawman hypothetical arguments about why the officer didn't just start shooting everyone that's black. Its a clear attempt to trivialize the difference how police treat black people in regards to the abuse of power, the use of deadly force, and the presumption of violence of black people. Its becoming more and more apparent to me a now former fan of Peter that his excuses of race and wealth inequality has become hyperbolic and factless. Using specious arguments back by nothing but ideological leanings Peter has made an art of denying the obvious. In the world Peter lives blacks and other minority groups deserve the excessive attention and mistreatment from police and the poor are poor because they want to be. The social, economic, and political backdrop that we live in has nothing to do with the economic and social condition. Its all our false perceptions of the actual and measured results. Wrong Peter, measurable and affirmative results do matter in how we conceptualize our lives and the conditions we all live in everyday.
