No Christian artist has shown more integrity in his life, more Biblical teaching in his songs and more gentleness in his call to follow the One "who would rather die than live without us".
I think of anybody on earth Michael will be the one who sounds the most like Jesus. It will be so wonderful in heaven to hear them sing together. God bless you!!
His album The Life was my first! My oldest daughter had been sending me contemporary Christian tapes when she was in college in late 80s. I never cared for them. Then at Christmas she gave me The Life. She said,” Mom, you will love this one.” She was right! My midlife blessing baby was raised on Michael’s music and at 33 she can still sing these beautiful praises!
I have heard your songs for more than 30 years Micheal And never get tired Of them. The message in them Is new and fresh Every time I listen To them. Thanks for God's word in song. Dwight.
I enjoy listening to Michael Card multiple times. His piano & guitar music & voice, his reading Scripture & interpreting it, his own goodness & devotion as a Christ believer shines forth in his beautiful concerts. He also says what is succint & important & never seems afraid of a moment of silence. What gifts of a performer w/which God has blest Mr. Card, & what a blessing he has returned to God & his audiences.
You are welcome. I was signed in on my other Utube account when I commented. This video/ concert is such a powerful witnessing tool. Succint, soft and soulful sounds. Gospel gentleness and peaceful praise and prayers. 🙏
Forty years down the road and Michael's praise of The Lord is as fresh and powerful as ever. A lesson in every song. Thanks Mike, for helping a fellow musician grow to love Jesus. You changed my life in a profound way, and I'll always be grateful to you for showing me His "warm reality". This world needs to hear your voice crying in the wilderness now more than ever.
I have followed Michael for many years after seeing him in concert in 1985 A humble servant of God. using his gift for God's Glory. He plays many instruments and God is using him to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ
My pastors and teachers were Michael Card, Keith Green, Dalas Holmes, Twyla Paris, Russ Taff, Leon Patillo, Carmen, Amy Grant, Petra, Bee Bee and Cee Cee Wynan, White Heart, Degarmo and Key, Mylon LeFevre, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Duncan, News Boys, DC Talk, and many many more. Through music, "Thy word have I hidden in my heart".
In C.S. Lewis' classic The Great Divorce, he discusses how pale we are as we move into the heavenly land that is solid and pure through and through. Michael is a man who is ahead of my in holiness, devotion, worship, discipleship and holiness. My in most being drawn to beauty and holiness and so I am drawn to Michael as he reflects God's glory, yet as one who has spent much time in the dark, i am both drawn and my own thin dark paleness drives me to linger in the shadows. Thank you for men like Michael who pursue diligently and draw us to follow. I am forever changed by the great priviledge of sharing in the fruit of Mr. Card's deep pursuit of God.
This is a man who knows God intimately ;He blesses us w/inspirational joy, peace, and Christ strength praise God” for giving us Christ thru, this man’s songs ; he is a real soldier of Christ Cross”
Oh how much I love Michael Card's music...one of my favorites. So sad main stream secular christian music industry never played his music much if any. But I am convinced that this is the kind of music I will get to hear and sing when I get to heaven. I am going to get music lessons from Michael Card, Twila Paris, Annie Herring , King David and so many more to play before my King Jesus for all eternity.
going to one of his concerts was like going to Bible college - he did more then "just" play and sing. he truly taught and ministered. his songs are teaching as well! is he still performing? the radio station i worked at in Florida had him do our Sharathon concert one year. he showed up on a motorcycle, all dressed in black. we were like, who is is person in our parking lot? then he took his helmet off! Love Crucified Arose almost makes me cry every time.
Raised my children on Michael C. He was part of the ceremony at my daughter's graduation from Carin University in Langhorne Pa. Decades of giving at the sacrifice of his own family....He is a True Slave to Jesus as God intended it to be. ThankYou Michael for your sacrifice.
When my children were young I would play this video while they were eating breakfast and while I was making their lunches it was such a wonderful time of the morning
One of the ways I understood while reading was thru this anointed man’s music. Thank you Michael Card. 8:47 Could it be the only answer that means anything is you. The final word That's what faith must be Know you in the now Could it be Jubilee The Nazarene Meditation #2 (instrumental) That is the mystery Dreaming Jacob's dream Spirit of the age Joy in the journey Barocha
Hahaha!!! I love the 80's! Look at the guy with a mullet on the piano! He looks like a 80's metal rocker! I love Michael Card! He reminds so much of my childhood growing up in the church. This is my first time seeing him perform in concert. Thanks for posting this!
Pete Mitchell there a few of ys commenting here that we're so glad to be able to hear again since VHS days. What a breath of fresh air from so much of modern Christian music.
I love how michael ties old testament truth to new testament faith. Jesus was the hope of the old testament the promise fulfilled in the new testament.
So will be your answer? Will you hear the call? Of Him who did not spare his Son. But gave him for us all, On earth there is no reason, there is no depth or height, that can EVER separate us from the love of God in Christ. Just an answer, just permission to work his will in our hearts, O Lord my God Yes a million times YES
What a joy having this again! I have a brand new unopened copy of this on VHS and was going to look into having it transferred to a DVD format. I think it’s protected from what I understand. Perhaps the company that produced this in 1990 would consider putting this out on DVD?
Hi all of you you shall listen to William Braham sermons they are helpful for us to be close to God and strengthen our faith and life don't miss it u will find it in every languages
Psalm 84:1-12 How lovely is Your tabernacle,O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord;My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home,And the swallow a nest for herself,Where she may lay her young-Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,My King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca,They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah O God, behold our shield,And look upon the face of Your anointed. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts,Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
It must be hard to try so hard to get the audience involved and they just absolutely refuse! It must be discouraging! After concerts like this he must be like, "No, stop it, stop it (rap upon the cranium) I forgive them Lord, darn it I forgive them!" He's obviously a masterful lyricist, but seemingly underappreciated by the drones vacillating in the audience who wondered if they went to the right venue!
This song bout the innocent being killed rlly hits close 2 home that could gave been me I was a 24 week preemie and was said 2 never b able 2 function w/o a ventilator so the NICU team suggested 2 terminate me but I'm here 26 yrs later tho I'm disabled but it could b worse
Yes, it's truly amazing that his finger placement to form chords is unique to himself and very few others. I have known of very few players who play in this fashion. Very remarkable 👏
