I've heard many people in mma and people that run in mma circles say that Michael Chandler is not liked within the mma community. They say he is completely two faced, and i believe it. The inspirational mr likeable persona that he puts on is easy to see through. He seems like the type of guy that will do anything to win
This dude is seconds away from finishing the last three people who beat him, what an incredible fighter. Still my favourite fighter and can’t wait to see him fight again
I feel his fight IQ is low and it costs him, like when his clearly up in a round he needs to take a breather and not put 100% into all his shots and take silly risks. If he thought smarter he could be champ.
Mike Chandler is my favorite at 155 lbs also....but Mike has low IQ.... Facts. I predicted Porier to win b/c he has higher fight IQ. Mike has one speed, 100 miles per hour. That just doesn't work against top level guys. You need different speeds. Mike depends too much on his physical abilities and neglects his IQ. Don't see him ever becoming champ. Fun fighter.
@@sandsunbeach5228 I have working hard on my chess recently, and I liked to describe myself as an attacking player doing "fun moves" and of my father's friend gave me one of the most incredible advice I even use in everyday life. If you want to grow, you need to quit the fancy stuff, and keep it to solid business. And poirier is the definition of this quote.
@@_timetravels4528 your fathers friend is telling you to go down the path others have already followed and paved the way for. It's very likely to give you success as long as you put in the effort. But there's nothing wrong with finding your own path or "fancy" path. a healthy balance of creativity paired with realism is offering a path that hasn't been explored with benefits that are a mystery. doesn't really apply to every situation like fighting but for life stuff I would never tell somebody to stop trying to find their own path
This guy is built different, taking questions after a loss face looks like a balloon, speaks intelligently, quick answers, speak humbly, no excuses or speculating. And He's ready to get back in there and put on a show. Im Big Iron Michael fan.
@@ebotawo9272 At the end of the day It's a fight in reality there are NO RULES. Although the ufc Is legally classified as entertainment their slogan Is "As real as It gets"
What an eloquent guy, even with his face all busted and his dome rocked he still delivers some great interviews. I really hope the UFC gets him on some type of broadcasting in the future.
@@WORKHUSTLEKILLx everyone loves to say fighters are done this is one thing fans dont get about fighters, they grind and come back stronger. Stop tryna tell fighters when their done
between the glove grabs and back of the head shots. Then just to top it off he fish hooks him to try and sneak a choke but all I can read about is how honorable and great he is. Crazy
@@StrengthScholar0 so do I when it comes to cage grabs and back of the head. I can sometimes understand in the heat of a fight. Not a deliberate fish hook. Dirty af
@Adi I don’t think he is that type dirty player, but he did fish hook and hit to the back of the head which Dan should of seen and should’ve advised and deducted a point
i love this guy in this sport. he brings such a badass energy to every fight that sells me on every fight! it's unfortunate that he lost but I still enjoy Mike Chandler!
@@gfsdgsrd5281 and holy hell the people love him absolutely amazingly entertaining ain't nobody missing this dude's fight. Everybody was talking about Dustin and Chandler after the fights tonight
Even the fights he has lost during his time in UFC no one can honestly deny that on any other day it could have gone his way. Guy is a wild man in the octagon which is always going to be a gamble but he has only fought killers so far and hasnt looked out of his depth in any of those fights. Man is a dangerous fight for anyone and is entertaining as fuck for us fans.
Man Mike could lose 3 more fights and I’d still tune in to watch him, he’s definitely up there with the most entertaining. As someone who is a fan of both, Mike definitely could have defeated Poirier, just that pride and ego tends to take over and he makes some bad choices, but if he really really wanted to win, (y’know like he said) he could’ve easily wrestled Poirier to a decision or a submission.
"amazing human being"??? Motherfker did you watch the fight? This guy is a dirty ass fighter. Acts one way outside the octagon but in the thick of it he reveals his true self. Looks like Dustin was right about this guy being fake.
Love this guy, he is a true fighter. He goes all out and it is fun to watch. Sometimes it is something that works against him but it is so exciting. Way to go Michael, see you next fight.
This man has fought only killers since coming to the UFC. The most impressive losing record I’ve ever seen. He has nothing but great fights and seems like a great dude
No, he hasn't only fought killers. He fought Tony Ferguson, who was reduced to absolutely nothing after what Gaethje did to him, and then Oliviera, and then Dariush. He fought Dan Hooker who, for all the love I have for him, hasn't been competitive in years now. He DID fight three killers in Poirier, Oliviera, and Gaethje, and he lost to all three of them.
respect for chandler... truly a great role model, clearly a great dad, and just a quality human being. Might not have won tonight, but chandler is definitely winning outside the cage and in life . Much love from Nashville
@@dannytran1587 you don't know that , you and your brother johnny need to worry about hector running 5 spoon engines because he just left harry's with a turbo booster
Such massive respect to Chandler. Wears his heart on his sleeve in and out of the octagon. I hope Connor chooses him as one of his comeback fights, he deserves the paycheque 🤞🏽

@@imoeazy by the way i placed a bet in dustins favor and i made good money, i really like the 2 of them, they are great competitors and good human beings you know, respectful, well spoken, little ego. chandler took a beating and stayed in the fight like he didn"t give a shit, after the fight he came back from the hospital and took care of media all black and blue and poured his heart out, you have to give him props for that. im a huge fan of the 2 of them.
@@allconsciousnesss true I do sense some honesty and humbleness in both fighters. But Chandler is straight up lying to everyone and especially himself..regarding the bloody nose issue. I'm actually surprised coz I thought he was more genuine before this interview
he might loose fights but he is fighting top contenders in the world and tonight he fought the number 2 in the world, one mistake and lights out, Chandler always gives the best in every fight and he was so close to finish those fights where he lost, a champion even if he has no belt. he makes every single second worth it. incredible night UFC181.
No matter what Michael Chandler would forever be my favorite fighter no matter what promotion he's in he's never had a boring fight 💯 they've literally put nothing but straight killers in the ring with him and he either wins or almost wins in every fight
I like How Chandler went to the ground and used more of his wrestling. Imo he falls in love with just trying to knock everyone out. Dustin’s no easy fight… Chandler gives his all an man every fight he’s in is a banger.
“I didn’t create gravity” 😂 Great stuff. Chandler always a class act. Shout out to Dustin & Michael for a great fight. Give these guys all the bonuses 🥊🥋👍👏
I understand why some fighters call him fake. He preaches about how he lives by all these morals and virtues and then fish hooks a guy and blows his bloody nose on his opponent. He wasn't desperate and in a bad position, he was about to finish the fight.
There is nothing recorded in that fight that actually shows he was fish hooking so I'm not really sure why you and so many others would be inclined to believe it happened and then assume something you can't even prove, was done intentionally. Same with the bloody nose. It could have just been a matter of circumstance. Dude was wrapped up DP's guard. His nose was leaking and he had nowhere to turn and he couldn't breathe out of his nose, despite being exhausted. Where is that blood going to go? It could have easily been an unintentional thing as well. Why automatically accuse? At this point, you guys are just being dicks for no reason.
@@1986Unlimited bro there’s literal footage of him fish hooking him lmao. They replayed it on the pay per view and the commentary team said the same thing as well 😂
I'll give you the bloody nose just cuz its hard to prove. But it was definitely clear he was trying to fish hook. Dustin said it and then there was footage to prove it. Dustin won and had no reason to lie.
What a fight..... I mean, you definitely hit him in the back of the head AND fish hooked him, lol, but regardless that was just amazing. The first round was one of the best ever. The whole fight was thoroughly entertaining. Just a great job from both men.
Yeah that's why I dont think he really has grounds to call Dustin out for being a graveless winner. It's kind of hard see past the sheistiness of Chandler bending and arguably ignoring the of the rules within the cage.
Every Chandler fight so good! Absolute war from these two guys. I really thought Dustin was going to get finished in round 1, but he somehow kept going. Nuts
He definitely deserves a big pay fight for what he puts on the line and the way he fights in general. He should go out with a bang with something to set him up and be happy for life. He literally never loses stock in my eyes even in defeat.
Chandler is always pure tv gold with every appearance he does man. Grabs himself a fight of the year... basically every year 😅. Hats off to both him and Porier no question! ⚔️⚔️
Lol the way he was trying to justify it was such bs, he knows what he did. And I actually liked this guy before this, I heard rumors that this guy was fake as fk but just saw it as trash talk but now I see it's true.
Literally watching a man having to admit he’s not the best at his craft. This sport is so clear cut sometimes, these guys train hard for years chasing to be the best in the world. It’s super humbling. You’re a man’s man bro. Good deal.
I’m a fan of Chandler but how can you blame Poirier when you were clearly fish-hooking his mouth and punching him in the back of the head couple of times... Great entertaining fight tho 🔥
