Same here , I'm binging as many episodes as I can . I watched it as a teen but I didn't appreciate the chemistry between Karl Malden and Michael Douglas as I was too busy thinking how gorgeous Steve was . I'm in Australia and I love seeing all the city sights etc. I even google things to see if they still exist.

Karl Malden's CLASSIC LINE from the movie Patton, 'I do military attacks because it's my job. You -- Patton -- do miliary attacks because You Enjoy It.", is something I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Your great too Michael, that show holds up like few do partly because of your humble acting and the relationship/brotherhood that you expressed with Karl. To me it's up there with The Soprano's, for real

I loved Streets of San Francisco and have followed both of these men's careers. I have a special affinity for Karl as he is so like my late Father-in-law. Karls scene in the West Wing when he is a priest telling a story to the president, is exactly how my Father-in-law would have told that story. They also looked alike.

You can see in the pilot movie, at the beginning, he looked pissed and was shaking his head at how Michael was driving

A joke I heard on the radio in the 70's, "Where does Karl Malden take his handkerchief to get cleaned?" "The car wash"

Yes, he is. He spoke highly about Karl though he disagreed with his politics and his support of Elia Kazan ratting out the communists during the red scare.

too bad Marlon Brando didn't do one of The Streets of Frisco. They could have recreated that famous scene in On The Waterfront, "remember that night in the garden, bla bla bla?" it would have been a classic, oh well
@spactick

ha! THAT would have been great altho Rod Steiger would probably have been better, given he was the guy in the back seat of the taxi

I wish Kirk Douglas did an episode with Michael and Kirk. Kirk could've played Inspector Keller's (Michael Douglas) father or a friend and classmate of Lieutenant Stone's (Karl Malden) under investigation for a murder but he's innocent
@spactick

@@dancastro6873 great idea, altho for Kirk I think it might have thought it was a come down from Spartacus. I'm just guessing

Changing one's birth name is disrespectful & unnecessary. This also applies to people who drop their last birth name. It's esp true if it's done for the anticipation of greater recognition & or financial gain. It's like selling-out, to perhaps an Agent or Studio Mogul, while at the same time being ashamed of their Father.
