@TT1221 - OMG, couldn't agree with you more. Besides, unlike so many of the upper echelon millionaires and most assuredly the billionaires, he's EARNED every penny. He's quite the gentleman and his dancing--is beyond the gods. Can any of us imagine the amount of arduous work he's put into his talent over many, many years. Yep, don't begrudge him a thing!! So pleased, too, that he chose Ireland to buy his palace. I'm an Irish woman at heart! :) :)
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
Wow,Michael ,amazing..yes those Celtic Tiger yrs,and then the Depression in the housing market, where beautifully restored mansions were sold off ...Seems a pity?...I bet in the future,it might be purchased by Fermoy co council, and might be listed in the World Heritage Centre..now wouldn't that be Great for the" Town I loved so well"?...Sorry a song just came to mind, lol
Had the pleasure of meeting Michael Flatley in the states during the Celtic Tiger Tour. When he was leaving the arena just a handful of Us were standing on the sidewalk waving goodbye to him and his limo stopped! Michael Flatley steps out of the vehicle greeted and chatted with us about the show, he was the nicest ever! we couldn't believe it! Michael signed our programs took pictures with us and he signed my Tribute to America Leather Jacket in silver pin! Thank You Michael for your kindness, the very best to You!
Met Michael the other day. He is such a nice humble guy that you would want to be friends with. His wife and son are very lovely too, good luck to them all.
Everything he' got he's worth having because he actually worked so very much for a good period of his life....his youth...May you be blessed Mr Flatley for the joy you brought us ! Be healthy and enjoy life as many years as possible !
I’m so glad he bought this gorgeous place and restored it...very few could have pulled it off, but after all he’s done for Irish dance and Ireland herself, it’s fitting that he continued it by restoring a piece of her history as well. Some say he’s nothing but a raving egomaniac, but it’s simply not true. He has worked bloody hard to be as excellent as he is and was in this art form of dance. He is simply the best in the world, and it’s a well deserved title. There’s no doubt about it though - like so many, love has smoothed out the rougher edges in him. He’s even more appealing now at his age than he was when he exploded into the public eye 30+ years ago in Riverdance.
Well said Wendy. I often feel Michael Flatley, Jack Charlton and Micheal O'Leary (like him or not) did massive amounts to bring about the Celtic Tiger. I know it didn't end well but we are well into recovery now and things will never be the same as before the Tiger.
...Hey JamiiieDee, Michael was my high school locker partner in Chicago, in the 70's. He was this small tiny kid, nothing special. At the end of the day, he became the ROCKY of his world! If he can do that, then................................ Stay healthy & thanks for your post.
I remember that time at the Eurovision when he and his lovely partner and dancing team made it alright to be of Irish decent in England again. A dance did the work of a thousand diplomats and politicians.
Tis no wonder . I thank him ❤ A ☘️ dancing all around the world with the chronic pain to prove it. Mine was using fingers to shoulders and b ack with 140 wpm. N I w, constant, but worth it for Him ❤
What a lovely man ,I have to say I've judged him wrong.I thought he would be a show off and in your face, but he seems very genuine and humble.Hes dancing is just out of this world and a talent from God.God bless him and hes family
I’m from lrish decent going back to 1725 in Antrim Co. & very proud of it !!! Would love to visit & see if I still have any Brownlow relatives there !!!
This man.. he brought so much light and joy in my life at a very young age and most importantly - he introduced me to irish music and culture. I probably won't meet him this life anymore but I hope he knows how much impact he had and still has on some lives with his beautiful dances and shows :) I still enjoy the old shows soo much. thank you Michael, you are a blessing in this world
Michael Flatley employed generations of craftspeople and artisans in the restoration of Castle Hyde- deliberately making sure that specialist crafts survived and were handed on among craftspeople all over Ireland. Another of his significant contributions to the Arts in Ireland. Thank you Michael.
I saw Michael Flatley in Lord of the dance in person with my mother in law & must admit how spectacular the experience was! He & his troupe works so hard! Michael deserves everything nice in life!
Believe it or not Mr Flatley is from the Southside of Chicago!!! His family lived in Beverly neighborhood. He went to Brother Rice High school. I ran into I’m at a hospital in Oak Lawn, where I worked, when his father had surgery there. It was before I knew who he was. A few days after that I went to see Lord of the Dance. What a shocker for me!! He’s brilliant.
@Cristina F Are you humble enough to consider that YOU are wrong about Jesus? Could you possibly consider that Jesus is FAR FAR GREATER than your limited religious mind could possibly imagine? Do not worry about Mr. Flatley and how he is with "God"... better YOU should re-consider your own understanding. Hint: Grace, the REVEALING Power of "God" WILL ... guaranteed... smash EVERY BELIEF your finite mind has EVER held... and you will come to KNOW "God" in a whole NEW way. As for religion... it is clueless when it comes to Jesus and "God". Prepare to be humbled. Jesus came to offer (those who were currently ready) far more than heaven. Just something to contemplate... or not.
A grand mansion!! He stated they rarely stay there. That's so sad that such a beautiful place never has the joy of the family in it. I wonder what the other 2 properties he owns there looks like and the one in London. Great Irish dancer.....love his work.
Linda Moser yes I know but these are truly such investments. I can kind of see where you might not want to live in such a gigantic space. He loves real estate! A GRAND JOB!
How beautiful truly lovely..he has put so much love into this home into every detail..wish I could visit it..thanks for sharing this piece of history..a talented and blessed man
No one deserved success more than MICHAEL. He was a GREAT ARTIST. It appears he was and remained a GENTLEMAN all his life. I especially LOVED his reference to his "DAD" when he "quoted" him, asking for "A PINT", "Mike go get me a pint. But don't tell your Mom for God's sake." Very touching!
Glad to see the Riverdance paid off so well. I've certainly have enjoyed it over the last 30 years. He definitely deserves the success he's had with the joy he's given his fans
For me he has such sadness in his eyes, maybe the great times he shared with his beloved father were there. I love how he gave a nod to all Irish tradesmen that restored the house. And at the end he says "we dont talk about the other properties he has". Well done keeping yourself private Michael and I hope you find that person will respect & take on the house for the next 20 years. He can afford to wait for the right person.
Agus mise féin. I'm a proud Irish man..Love all the 32 counties...The scenery, the craic, the music, the song, the dance, the language..even the climate...right now it's raining soft rain on 6th July 2021.
It's fantastic that Micheal restored this historic house so beautifully. It really is a gift to the Irish nation and future generations to enjoy. So many great houses were let go to ruin and it's heartbreaking when they go beyond repair.
It is Grande, yet peaceful and truly can be called 'home" Can just imagine the lovely Christmas parties and the wedding, must have been so festive and one to never be forgotten. So many memories will live in that home forevermore! Thank you for this tour (although short) and for being able to share some of the time with Michael too. Positive that although this was alot of work, it was a work of "Love"
Beautifully done! Believe me if I lived in Ireland, within 3 weeks I’d be speaking with an accent! Lived in Chicago for over 30 years, Irish myself. Absolutely fabulous!
Wow, what a treasure, both the estate and Michael. Seems he has grown a lot over the years and become a true renaissance man and certainly a gentleman.
What an AMAZING Castle and thanks to Michael & his family it has been restored for future generations. It is a real TREAT to wander around this Castle with Michael. Thank you
I'm from Holland. I saw this man with his super group live in Ahoy in Rotterdam (where many famous artists performed and perform) and I always thought he was a huge arrogant person (turns out that it is all show) and then you see such an interview and how lovingly he speeks about his family, especially his father AND Ireland, I have to change my opinion about him. He has worked very hard for this. Blood sweat and tears as they say. And what a fantastic building.
@MrMisterMan 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:8-12
@MrMisterMan At least I'm prepared for eternal life if I and the Bible are right! Are you willing to face and live with ETERNAL HELL IF YOU ARE WRONG???
Too many old places r going to rot and ruin....too costly to bring them back to their glory, too costly to maintain Thank goodness there r people who will use their wealth to restore these grand old places Fr across the waters Canada 🇨🇦 🐥🐥🐥hugs and all that jazz
I just read an article saying that Flatley still owns Castlehyde; pulled it from the market, because in the end, he couldn't bear to be separated from it. He feels a strong connection to the area, to the history and memories that go with the house and the land. Can't blame him. Hope he and his family continue to enjoy it.
Beautiful mansion filled with opulence, taste, authenticity and comfort. The hard work paid off, shame its not occupied often as its just a dream place to dream big.
Michael brought world focus and wonder about the great Irish nation - of which I am a proud member - with dance music and drama, and great story telling woven into it. But when you look at the wonderful dancers who carry on the stage productions that Michael started, as great as they undoubtably are, they're not Michael. It's his quiet confidence and vision and passion, and of course his amazing talent and skill that has enabled him to become the world renowned figiure he is. I raise a glass of the good stuff to ya my friend, and a wee snifter to follow. God love you and all who know you and love you...love and luck to you and family for the rest of your days.
Twenty seven million Euro to restore, and another twenty million Euro for the antiques to furnish it. And that was in 1999 values. Today's cost would have been much higher.
@@franpie2264 I agree. I believe that the ones we love and the ones who love us are never very far away. I hope his children are able to feel that too. All 3 of them are so beautiful. They lost so much when he died but they were so blessed to have him in the first place. Michael was one of only 2 "celebrities" that I've ever cried for. The other was Robin Williams. I remember that when Michael died, all I could think of was that, at least, he couldn't be hurt anymore by people who were only after what they could get from him. Blessings and peace to you!
@@pamelatibbetts7147 I watch Amanda Ellis in the UK and she channels many beings. She has channeled Michael and others who are in the heart squad. Heart centred conciousness. amandaellis.co.uk/ on youtube and facebook. many videos to watch.
There is a video showing MJ visiting Mr. Flatley! He stopped by to see him during his stay in Ireland and stayed with him for a short time after his trial. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wNQrhJXnlOc.html
@@Paulco67 Oh how I hope this is true. I lost the house I lived in with my parents ~ it's broken 💔 my heart. Hope he did keep this home where his Dad was last. 🙏
Michael certainly seems to be a man with great instinct, respect, and humility. Whatever he does - he does with passion and perfection. His is a great talent, that he loves to share with others, and many times, gives the credit back to God for many things, he realizes his blessings, and is truly a grateful man. Any time I have heard him speak, he has always been gracious, polite and dignified. Such a far cry from the uncouth swearing and hateful rhetoric out of too may "celebrities" nowadays. Michael - I have loved you from the beginning, and you still make my heart race while watching you perform your magic - you are truly the "Lord of the Dance". P.S. - You are still a HUNK!
I dont think whoever buys this house will love it half as much as Michael and his family do, what a beautiful home owned by a besutiful person, u truly are a gentleman Michael and u deserve everything u have today because u worked so hard to get it, ur a beautiful soul and i wish u happiness and health for u and all ur family, God bless u from the bottom of my heart, 👍💖💞❤️
This is a wonderful creation and restoration, such beauty should be appreciated and applauded, A true labour of love.and I am glad to have seen it. Thank you
Wonderful house and what a story of how Michael got it restored. A very passionate guy who has worked so hard to get to where he got to; and so humble too. A tough guy, but a soft one underneath who adores his family, his heritage and the story of his dad... pure respect fella!
A long time back, my English friend Prescilla and her Irish partner Tim, lived in a little farmhouse in Fermoy with a goat and some chickens. Lovely place. There was also Fermoy cheese. Sorry just reminiscing!
Used to get chills watching you so good that time I still yet to have your dancing on video don't ask me why I haven't purchased but I will find it and get it loved your work back in the days God bless
Yes, he worked very hard and I love this! We all remember and wish we could still see you on stage. Hate the fact life is really too short! Thank you for restoring this beautiful home! 11/14/20
I am American with Irish heritage and dream of going to Ireland! No matter what, the fact Michael has a DEEP RESPECT for tradesman is beyond awesome! There is NOTHING like the appreciation of talent and experience! And old ways which are the very best! All the wood in that home is a treasure!!! So is Micheal!!!! Love him, love his ways!!! Happy New Year! May it be healthy, joy filled and loving!!! We are ONE!!!❤️❤️❤️
