Michael's father although too old to be an active member in the Mob he had never cut ties with them and had a lot of friends who respected him and for sure would attend his funeral. Wow you can really see and feel the sadness and grief when Michael says he didn't go to his father's funeral. This families story (as well as others) is so sad. not really man frank went to prison when he was already a very old man and only spent 13 years there, he lived the last 10 years of his life free. The problems Frank has at the end of the movie are what every person goes through at that age like taking a bunch of medications, high blood pressure, back problems etc. Sonnys family was destroyed and he spent over half his life in prison
