I just read Michael’s dad was both the youngest guy ever made in the American mafia (at 16) and since he lived to be 103 he had the longest mob career of anyone ever!

Whats crazy is that his dad did 50 years in prison, and was convicted when he was 50, and still lived to see the day he was set free, so honestly he probably didn’t think he would make it to see freedom again, no one would.

Actually it was the opposite. Sonny said to the judge if I recall correctly that he was going to do every last bit of his time and he outlived everyone involved in the case.

This is my favourite Michael Franzese interview. He opened up so much more in this interview compared to other interviews, where it's so obvious he's holding back since he's talking to people who don't actually understand the life. Seeing you being on the same boat made him warm up a lot more, and this was so much more informative, educational, and awesome to listen to.

Larry, U have managed to open up Michael emotionally. I haven't seen that in any other interview. Michael is always very closed and rational. Probably because of his history he has to be very careful even today about what he can say and what he cannot. That I think creates enourmous pressure inside and makes him quite closed. But you managed to make him feel comfortable and open him up. I really loved this interview.

This interview is interesting in a way that Larry is nervous talking to Michael, it shows how people interact with one another when they have "some" similar traits/history but a very huge gap in what they did, achieved and the influence they had etc. In a situation like this most people are probably nervous speaking to someone who is very high profile. Larry is trying to reach his big brother Michael, both highly social skilled and smart. Larry you did an excellent job and I love you even when you did not ate pizza with john gotti and talked about the next business you are planning to take over.

Before I watch this, I gotta say how happy I am that this is finally happening. I discovered Larry Lawton on a video where he reviewed Heist movies and told us how realistic they are in comparison to real life. From then on I'd find his channel and love to just listen to his videos whenever I could. Not too long after that I get a video recommended to me where Michael Franzese is playing never have I ever and also reviewing Mob Movies. I'd find HIS channel and love to listen to his videos. Because both of them were both deep into the life and found redemption in prison, and because Larry said he did some jobs for the mob, I ALWAYS wanted to know what these two think of each other and if they know of each other. Like maybe Michael had connections with the guy that put Larry up for the Heist and if Michael, wasn't directly involved but was connected through ties that lead to other business decisions. Thank you both so much for coming together for a sit down interview. I cannot wait any longer to watch this hour long interview. P.S, Michael, we told you that we'd listen to you for an hour.

Is it just me, or this the most down-to-earth verbal exchange there is on RU-vid? Man, some of the things they said gave me goosebumps. Just hearing that honesty.

Best interview yet Larry. Something you said brought tears to my eyes, your daughter said “where were you all my life”. I just got custody of my 14 year old daughter but the first 7 years of her life I was out running the streets. I’ve heard it from her so that hit me hard

Everything should be done by the book and by law. You enforce the law you obey the law. Don’t be a hypocrite those are the cops that people want dead. You do what your supposed to do and show everyone you come across with integrity and respect the community will respect you. If you’re not sure about something call your supervisor it’ll cover your ass and everything will be done according to law. Don’t put yourself as the position of the judge and jury. You’re an officer of the law you hook them and book them. Leave the punishment to the state/federal courts.

Larry's story about his friend who killed himself in prison was hard to hear. Michael had a friend who killed himself in a phonebooth because he got caught in a minor drug deal with the boss's son and was too afraid to be walked into a room to be killed so he took his own life.

Hey Larry, I really enjoyed this interview. I've seen a couple of Michael's interviews, but this was by far the best. Brings a whole new dynamic to it when both of you went through similar things in the past.
