The organizational complexities of the mafia and how it was interwoven into virtually all aspects of power and society (political, big business, unions, law enforcement, etc) is fascinating. For years, like Giuliani said, the FBI couldn't get a handle on it. Hoover ignored it; probably for many reasons but he probably knew it was too big to bring down with pre-RICO laws.

There is so much history here!! I bet there was a lot of information talked about in this series that is not for public consumption and it was "Off the Record"

I think the answer is greed. They would've been left alone if they had stuck to things like gambling, book making, etc they'd be fine. You start sticking your hands into every day life with things like unions, elections, skimming multi million dollar construction jobs, etc. That's the kind of over reach and greed that leads to things like Rico

I have to admit that this series looks very compelling. I’m actually thinking about plopping down my hard earned cash to watch the whole thing. After months of watching Michael and Sammy and getting to know them through their RU-vid channels, it adds a personal element to these stories. Now we’re watching actual made guys-bosses-telling us their perspective instead of watching DeNiro and Pesci do a reenactment of ‘the life’. It’s a whole different thing.

I've only heard of the RICO Act from Christopher Nolan's legendary film The Dark Knight, as ir was used to arrest all of the mob members in Gotham City. Was the film fictional? Yes. But that they referenced this actual act in a more serious and realistic interpretation of Batman, I thought that was so cool. Love how you go into detail about these topics that you cover in your videos.

The one thing I disagree with Rudy Giuliani when he said "He gave out the first FISA warrant" which is not true. but the problem was the FISA courts were made for the use of Section 702. most people are not familiar with the "702 FISA act" which clearly was made to prevent foreign terror. after 9/11 "Section 702 is a key provision of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 that permits the government to conduct targeted surveillance of foreign persons located outside the United States," But the NSA and the FBI were abusing this program. (that's how Obama got to spy on Trump) on false information given to the FISA court) That's how we lost our privacy. even today there is NO oversite of what goes on behind closed doors. and FISA courts are secret courts. That means. you can't even question the Judges, or the FBI as to why was this warrant issued in the first place? ' leaving congress's oversite committee paralyzed. even if you subpoena Chris Wray to the oversite committee. you won't get any real answers. the FISA act was NOT legal against the Mafia.(since it was a domestic issue. they Twisted the law. and kept lying on how they got this warrant in the first place. That's when the NSA got total control of Everyone. they can spy on you anytime anywhere for NO reason at all. all they have to do? is make up a BS story. that could not be backed up. and NO one would question it. PS: Giuliani is full of BS. The Government is the "new Mafia"

Omerta created the rico act. They had to connect the bosses with the crimes that their soldiers and associates commited. Nearly impossible if nobody talks. So they had to think of something else, practicly it means that if they can prove you are a part of an organisation, then you´re also guilty of the crimes the other members make.

Michael lesson here in this life is sometimes we do things that we aren't to find out who we are. You have to keep creating you life by constantly changing no matter how hard you think it is

Rudy has his merits, but listening to him brag and laugh about the feds doing unconstitutional activity is a bit disturbing. He was drooling talking about asset seizure. Beware you don't turn into the monster you're trying to kill. Like others have said, RICO should be used against the politicians and the corporations who fund them. Cosa Nostra is the Sunday Brunch Club compared to the people in Washington D.C.
