Police confirmed they received multiple reports of an incident on Hurstmere Road, Takapuna around 4.20pm, on Thursday 16 June.
Inspector Stefan Sagar, Waitematā East Area Commander said two offenders carrying metal bars entered the premises and smashed several glass cabinets.
The video shows a by-stander filming outside the store while a series of loud bangs can be heard, coming from inside the jewellery shop.
“Make sure you get the car out of here,” somebody can be heard saying while the bangs continue.
A man wearing a black hoodie can be seen smashing cabinets open, with glass flying across the shop. He can then be seen taking items from inside the cabinets and stuffing them into a backpack.
Two offenders are then seen running away from the store and entering a gold mazda, yelling at the public before driving away.
Police confirmed they took a number of items and got away in the vehicle, later found abandoned a short distance away.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
“Police treat these incidents seriously and we remain focused on investigating any incidents of violence,” said Sagar.
