The “Moonwalk” did have a name before MJ, it was called the back slide. And yes it was taught to him and he made it worldwide known, which is just as important. MJ always gave credit to those he was inspired by too.

It's still called back slide til this day but idk what happend if MJ just changed it or he messed up but moonwalk is completely different dance move lol. I love MJ but I am also a dancer and many lectors told me this.

He was just that famous that it got connected together but real dancers will tell u it isn't like that. With all due respect, there's a misunderstandimg,mj never said he invented the moonwalk,he and his family confirmed that he had learned it from others,so he didn't steal or copy it,he just improved it and used it in his performances.

The move was not copyrighted, the move is actually called the “Back Slide” but Michael just liked the name “Moonwalk” He learned it from Jeffrey Daniel and perfected it. He also credited kids on the streets for many of his dance moves.

People were nasty about his crazy small nose at this point but after his autopsy we find that he had dsicoidal lupus and it attacked the cartilage in his nose, causing it to collapse. It got better before he died. Most surgeries were about to repair damage. He did have a couple legit nose jobs, but that's why they tell people with lupus NOT to get plastic surgery. Idk why he didnt just say that when he was alive. He said that mystery kept people relevant in the media. I have to say he was right. He's been dead 13 years and I'm writing a comment about this

Michael actually said he learned the moonwalk from little kids on the streets and he made it his own. He credited the kids but I don’t recall him saying someone taught it to him. I honestly think he may have seen someone do it b4 him but he rlly learned it from kids as he said. Michael was an amazing dancer since a very young kid! He only got better!
