Things were 100 times more mysterious and interesting back then because ther was no internet or social media. You didnt see stars everyday in pictures and read their tweets etc. You had to see them concert or be lucky enough to randomly see them in person. The mystery around stars was much more than it is today. They used to feel larger than life back then. Now they just feel like regular people who got lucky etc.
@@Skies133 exactly! I’m really shocked to see all the people still making him out to be a God. I thought George Michael had gotten rid of that concept in 1990 for Americans. Thinking any human being is more than a human is not psychologically healthy. And when you see interviews of the people from Motown since the early 90s most seem to have problems with what he did. They knew he wasn’t like the image he portrayed and got people to believe.
I remember even in the late 90s and 2000s, when the internet was barely a thing-at least not like it is now-and we would be so much more interested in Mtv, VH1, etc. (when they actually discussed MUSIC of course), lol. Any news or tv special on a musician was akin to finding info on the internet today. Only not as instantaneous. We might have even pre-recorded it on VHS if we had school that day 🤣
Yes, but remember that these three Tokyo shows were the START of the tour… he debuted the Bad tour in Tokyo, at Korakuen Stadium, on September 12, 13, and 14th, 1987. Over 150,000 total people. So his energy was likely saved up by then, with lots of rehearsals. Probably excited to perform. That’s also why there was so much extra hype with the Japanese media, it was the first leg of his first solo tour-a tour which continued through January of the next year! Sure, it’s only a few months, but imagine the feeling by that point! After Tokyo, I believe he did three shows per city in Nagoya, Osaka, and Yokohama. Totaling twelve Japanese sold-out shows, with over half a million total fans!
Even crazier, I just noticed he actually did the tour through January of 1989! My mistake. Very exhausting I’m sure. And even more crazy is that he ended the tour right back in Tokyo, with a further ten sold-out shows at the Tokyo Dome!! 50k people each! This tour was truly crazy.
MJ's exclusive documentary of BAD Japan tour. Since his private life was kept in secret, many crazy rumors had spreaded before he came to Japan, like he was an elephantman bone collector. The TV reporter actually saw him a quiet kind young man up close, and also being amazed how powerful MJs performance was. It was really rare in those days that shy Japaneses went crazy. MJ dedicated this tour to a brutally murdered little kid, Yoshiaki. His concerts were held at Tokyo, Osaka, and Yokohama. Just a brief translation !
@@jr9249 It was produced by the Japanese TV station "Nippon Television Network Corporation". This company obtained the exclusive rights to broadcast MJ's BAD Japan Tour.
@@trillythagr8259 but he kinda still was even after the allegations. Look at videos during the History era the way world leaders were still gushing over him. He was very powerful, that’s why the allegations exist in the first place. Thankfully he wasn’t an ego maniac huh
I was in Shiga-ken,Osaka....September 1987 during MJ's bad tour concert....didnt get the chance to see the concert because we have work....but i heard tickets were sold out and it was jampacked......now im 60,mj is turning 61 on august 29.....im just 6 months younger than Him....
@@ahad4488 so? The man was still black. I’m light skinned and my my cousin is mixed but looks white and has blue eyes. Doesn’t that make us any less African American? No. Black people come in all shades and plus Michael had vitiligo.
@@jannyandi1173 Ik I’m on his side here realise that. I’m just saying racism is created because of a persons appearance for example a dark skin would have a higher chance of facing racism then a light skin.
god, I turned on the automatic translator here in youtube and it was the best decision ever, this was such cute documentary and Michael is such a kind soul
18:28 Just seeing his fans watching far from the concert is just surreal. This comes to show you how ultra popular Michael Jackson was. We will never see anything like this ever again. He was as big as Jesus.
It's scientifically impossible for there to be a huge floating man in the sky managing everything like a puppet master. If he's so real and so good, why let horrible things like cancer to kids happen? He has a sick sense of humor.
19:21 Look at that absolutely gorgeous face and sexy smile as he says hi and waves to the camera drenched in that delicious sweat. Oh my lord, please have mercy on me. That man was too good to be true, he sings with so much soul, he dances with such smoothness, he looks divine and he behaves like an angel. RIP MJ.
@@eri7772 I wouldn't doubt if Michael was absolutely edible in every sense of the word...😂 plus he looked really hot in that one shot I would been down bad astronomically if i was around him!!!
Michael Jackson is a man, as such he can only be said to be handsome not pretty. Michael Jackson is the only golden one of this planet.other beings on other galaxies in the universe know so as well
Me encanta verlo, siempre tan guapo, elegante y auténtico. Te queremos Michael, irreemplazable.
R.I.P. MICHAEL JOSEPH "JOE" JACKSON/THE JACKSON 5 [ AUGUST 29th, 1958 - JUNE 25th, 2009 ]. & THANKS AGAIN, BUDDY. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, MAN... SO VERY MUCH, ALRIGHT? WE ALL LOVE YOU.
Michael I know your in heaven right now watching me speaking wonderful things to you but I just wanna say thankyou for changing my life your then true king of pop I am not lying but I am the only one who loves you more thankyou for your wonderful music's that cheer me up when I'm sad or mad wish you luck in heaven
I don't think he was interested in women. Never seemed to have them on his arm or at his home, and loads were interested. Stars of his calibre tend to have a string of women all their lives. Doesn't mean he was gay, perhaps asexual. @@adriene2190
Anybody who says jacksons best work was after 80s is talking thru there hole, he was in his prime in 80s ,hes toured live in which i mean he danced and sang live ,after bad tour he did not he mimed mostly . Plus tbh i rather the young 80s mj ,he became to self involved after early 90s .he seemed to self proclaim himself as some kind of god or leader . I wasnt into that era of micheal . But early young adult mj was and will always be untouchable ,a pure genius
