I'm getting the feeling that parts of his childhood was very traumatic. I'm guessing a lot of his adult life was spent trying to somehow deal with that. He still seems like a very nice person to me though. Media definitely blew this out of proportion.
You watch this and you don't even realize that propaganda films like this destroyed him. When you are attacked attacked attacked very single day how would you feel?
I agree with all the comments here. This documentary is very judgmental and tabloid like. It's a shame he was represented this way in the press. I have shared this simply for fans to watch and see the good footage it does contain mixed between all the jargon..!!
Michael was absolutely not happy with his face. Which is why he kept trying to change it and hopefully fix it. With body dismorphia and vitiligo, he just got to a point in the end where he was desperately trying to look normal again. For sure he was pretty delusional for saying things like how he wanted to look like a "porcelain doll", but that's the only GOOD direction it could have gone. Which it didn't, obviously. He wore masks and covered his eyes and face because he DIDN'T like what he saw, and could never fix it. Some of the people in this interview were pretty brutal to him, which I get, but ALSO get that he wasn't purposely making it worse for fuck's sake.
It couldn't have been vitiligo because nobody with this desease looses his entire pigmentation. The people that saw him after his dead said his entire body was completely pale. Either he had another disorder, some people thought about lupus or something like this, or he eat pills; and sadly, considering what else he did to his body, I could imagine him taking some of them as he had no idea how to deny himself the way he is any further.
@@DerTypausBielefeld His autopsy found evidence of vitiligo, but Michael bleached a lot of his skin to even it out. There was more pale skin than black, so it was easier to bleach then use dark makeup.
@@mangaboss1411 That's exactly what I think as well. He was so sick. And how could he heal when he was so lonely, which is something I can totally comprehend. And it's not people's fault most of the time to be lonely. There are people who disgrace ever one around him, but most of the time they got people around them, which is so incomprehensible. But even they end up having nobody. And there are, however, people who were simply unlucky in life like him. And they made it worse sometimes like he did because they made themselves vulnerable and needy like he did, and women hate men who are needy whether they admit it or not, which is one of the reason why Lisa Marie Pressly left him. And lonely persons are weird most of the time like he was. So people avoid them even more, it's very hard to break this cycle. So he was lonely and made it even worse due to his loneliness, so he couldn't be healed from his wounds, and obviously never found Jesus to help him, so it became worse and worse, so he ended up making himself into a wrack with, so he died from that.
Sure...he 'showed up with a weird face at MTV'....did the people run away? Hell no...they flocked by the thousands just for a teeeeeeny tiny chance to get a glimpse of him and scream his name../maybe get an autograph or a hug. Thank God the fans weren't this cold and calculating.
I really love Michael Jackson and have been a huge fan for over 20 years, but there is NO denying it and Jan Stanek is a respected surgeon and is well known in UK and knows what he's talking about! The surgery DID go too far, with MJ barely even able to smile properly since around 2001 - its such a shame really
I don’t like the reference of “Jacko”. It’s really insulting. MJ demons really became pronounced by the crazy surgeries. When he did Captain EO he really looked good. He should have stopped then. Celebrity got out of control. I hated how he looked with his Dangerous album. He looked bad. But no one can deny his artistic genius.
i remember watching this documentary on tv when i was younger. i think i was like 11. i didnt really get how badly they talked shit about him until i watched it again now. its disgusting. they should all be ashamed
I liked Michael Jackson, but some of his fans are too much. Surely the One Who created Michael Jackson is more worthy of worship than him. Worship the Creator not His creation.
@@Snyper1405 I was talking about the extreme fans who undertake plastic surgery to look like Michael Jackson, when they should be grateful for how God has created them and made them look, and that they should direct their worship towards The Creator and not His creation.
I have a question. Why do I never hear anything about Elvis Presley who looked like hell the last years of his life and died on a toilet seat? And what about really ugly celebrities who have always been ugly such as Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler and many others?? How come videos aren't being done about them? Are you all just jealous of Michael Jackson's untouchable talent or is this simply RACISM?
I remember seeing this documentary on TV and it's really sad on so many levels: the opinions of the media "experts" (including the narrator) are insulting; and that MJ grew addicted to surgery because people judging his face. What I never understood is why the UK (?) media called him Wacko Jacko and then they make Jacko seem like a term of endearment, like calling the overweight kid 'fatso' so much it becomes a 'cute' nickname.
This is what happens when children do not get the validation they seek from their parents, and for Michael that was from Joe. If Joe was kinder... one can only imagine.
For better or worse, whatever he was doing worked for millions of people. He was never boring-- he was a visual carnival which helped keep him on the front pages. But he backed it up with talent, and made good on his musical promises.
The psychologicist woman was particularly mean. Having said that, it is sad to see how he changed from handsome young man to what he looked like in later years. When she said where will he be in ten years, that was sad.
MJ still the sexiest man to ever walked on his planet regardless of all the bullshit made up about him. I don't understand why people care so much about his appearance especially his skin color when he had vitiligo. He couldn't help it. He was proud to be black! He was born black and died a black man and we still love him no matter what color he was. Racist haters sounds hella dumb to focus on his looks rather than the person he was and his music and what he gave to the world. MJ was all about LOVE and just simply wanted to be loved. There's nothing wrong with that. Now you can finally Rest In Paradise my handsome King! You will always be remembered. The world misses you so much! Music is not that some without you.
I just don’t get why ppl were and still so obsessed with his plastic surgery, wtf does that matter, obviously they don’t know here that he had lupus and vitiligo, and he indeed had lots of plastic surgery, but u have to realize that most of it was to repair the nose , cuz he had a botched nose job, and problem with healing, to go in detail of those docs were professional they d understand if here is doing graphs and try to fucking repair his nose, maybe there was smth wrong?! Maybe he wasn’t cutting off his nose as they present rather trying to make it as normal as possible, if he wanted to carve his nose more n more why the fuck would he put it cartilage to repair the nose! ? It’s absolutely contrudictionary! None of these ppl even knew him, including Jerk maine !!! Shame shame shame! And as for pedo accusers I highly recommend to watch a terrible doc called “ MJ s boys” and specifically listen to the guy who’s mom was Glenda n whose father recorded and leaked Glenda tapes n to his experience with MJ, he didn’t even care about those kids that much, nothing suggests that, he was friends with them from 87 at least to 91 for sure, all these years and nothing improper besides coming on to the mother was detected?! Weird ha maybe, but that all suggests that he couldn’t have kids and he was into older women who already had kids, all those moms either divorced their husbands or left them, now why would a woman do that?! Right cuz she is doing smth with smo else, MJ would get a complete package with kids, a normal family, and they would get this luxury life, that’s what he was so much after, why it’s always a family, with kids that are not just boys, but always with girls too, if he liked boys how to explain that, that he befriended boys but than befriended and got into the whole family, and usually it led to his super close relationship to mothers not kids, u can hear it on Glenda tapes soo much, and hear his conversations with kids, which he really was bored, he mostly listened to the kids just to get thru it, but talked to mom, and flirted with mom, nah, he had issues, but living lol boys wasn’t his issue, he wanted a family, a white family too... sad maybe but not criminal...
Just more of what he always had to go through with the media and probably largely responsible for why he was a bit obsessive about his looks. Who wouldn't be with the media doing documentaries about your looks? The media never takes into account his vitiligo and lupus, which caused him to lose his hair, which is why he got the tattooed eyeliner and eyebrows, and sometimes wore eyelashes. I think he handled it all with amazing grace. Much better than I would.
the people that made this video should be ashamed of themselves. How dare you judge a person that has had a life like this musical genius. You have NOOO idea, what this man has gone through... first take a look at yourselfs in every possible way ...are you 'normal'? Then try to judge another person.... you won't be able to.. by the way, you don't even reach his tows...
Invincible doesn’t sound anything like Dangerous and they’re exactly 10 yrs apart 1991-2001 if anything invincible is one of his top drops out of his whole catalog don’t@ me
well who really cares right who cares in the end there was really no need for this documentary uh yeah we see he has had alot of plastic surgery and yeah hes changed but thats not gonna stop me from liking him.
Homely....for me it's immediately easy to think "WTF" but then I think... If I could act on any and Evey whim that I had while selfconcious and money was not a consideration, while being isolated from "the real world " in reality I wouldn't be much or any different than he ended up as.
Hahahah "his last album sounded as if it was 10 years out of date" have you listened to you rock my world, unbreakable, invincible and heartbreaker where he uses a bit of dubstep that wasn't even in until the 2010's and the Invincible album came out in 2001 where we had britney spears justin timberlake and usher doing there thing. That guy clearly doesn't know what he is talking about no wonder this videos has so many dislikes, we are working with a bunch off bullshitters here.
@Caribgurrl I doubt that Ben Arogundade is jealous of Michael Jackson, unless you mean that he's jealous in that generic way that most people would be jealous of the most famous pop star in the world (money). I really like John Landis. Guy is a scream.
People, why this talk about his face? Why do people think they have the right to treat him like that? Is that the way YOU want to be treated? That is so DISRESPECTFUL and don't claim you are his Fan and you love him.
This is what the pinnacle of success does to you ladies and gentlemen, he became deluded by the world, he forgot who his creator is, he even thought there must be some more contentment out there, instead of having god by his side he had the devil
A very shameful media in this country.. a disrespectful anchor media and tabloid. Have some respect u guys are making money with his name.. i really hate hearing this guy's how disrespectful to him
This documentary is mad all they have done is violated him disturbing and discussed by what they are saying about him cant even appreciate all the good things he done all they have talked about his appearance and his behaviour this documentary is done out here
@dybikpol81 A-GREE. I'm grateful for this being posted as I've been looking for it for ages (it's lying around on a videotape somewhere from when it was shown on CH 5 but cannot find). I do agree that it has a typical tabloid tone about, but the opinions of many people talking here are valid. I think the real shame at this time was everyone being obsessed with Michael physical transformations, but not in the least bit interested in WHY they was happening. I think he looked terrible in 2001.
He said in his book moonwalker that he had a cleft planted in his chin and had two plastic surgery's course that book was in 1988 Idk how many but honestly I never cared about his face he always made good music personally if that made him happy so be it.
