This is the kind of melody that can be composed by musicians who are prone to melodic metal in northern European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Finland or in Eastern European countries such as Turkey -due to the melismatic tendency, as a must for this genre-, but not by a man living in America who sings funk and R&B. I couldn't agree with you more, the intro and first verse definitely sound like a Turkish melodic/doom metal song. Through the chorus, I could say that it's a Miika Tenkula song from a Sentenced album (Finland-RIP). But the bridge literally screams: 'it's a Michael Jackson song!' It's as if he hid his unique signature in the bridge and let the rest be anonymous. Great song!

Those falsettos overlap with the female vocals in "Crumbling Down" in my mind (Sentenced). Slash also used those falsettos for the guitar solo in this final version.

Fabulous.This was filmed during rehearsals for MJs Dangerous Tour. My gosh, his lovely voice.No one can could hv sung it better. Slash on the guitar solo equally gr8..MJ was in his early 30s then I think & at his peak years till end 1999/early 2000/1. Sad we all age but thats life..One cant keep up this level of performance in one's 50s & upwards.Maybe he could hv.I dont know.. I believe that did cause MJ some depression in his last yrs of life.. His friend Rabbi Shumuley said that MJ was starting to feel that his best years were behind him by 2001.. Miss this legend.Thank God for RU-vid..We can still watch & listen to these classics

It sounds great :) I'm not even Michael's fan, but I love this song. I wish he made more rock music... Generally, if he made a bit more alternative stuff, maybe he wouldn't be so famous, but he could be happier... Yet he decided to become the most perfect and famous artist... just to feel loved. That's very exciting and tragic life story, I suppose.
