Michael's voice was so electric and had a spark!! I love the way his voice sounded when he said "just tryna put a little fun in your life"!!! Especially the way his vibrato was on the word "life"!! I miss him so much. I can't get over his death
+doalwa Hot Street was written and composed by Rod Temperton. This doesn't seem to be the official version. This sounds like a remix someone did after the track was leaked in the internet. The original unreleased version has a duration of about 4:40 and sounds more correct with the 1982 period and instruments (drum machine, guitar, synthesizer and synthesizer-bass)
Michael Peacock I agree with Sara. He is irreplaceable. He was a once in a galaxy creation. There will be talented entertainers for sure but they'll always be compared to Michael and fall short. Once and always The King of Pop! :-)
This is one of his best songs in my opinion! More Moonwalkers should know about this piece of gold! The way the verse leads into the chorus is impeccable ❤️
esau817 the music deserves to be heard and have the legacy continue, by not support it your making him a flop. I don't completely agree with some of the choices they made
Half of us don't support his new album because it doesn't even sound like the type of music Michael would make. Michael was very old school not saying the album was bad but it would've been better if Michael was living to make it himself.
This was one of the songs that Rod Temperton(the song's composer)felt was too weak or too poppy to fit the mood of the album. But he did say it was a good song.
True, but I don't think its just because he wrote it, but because he had a vision for it (whether or not he wrote the song). I remember Quincy mention that Michael would say that Billie Jean made him really want to dance, especially when that base kicks in the beginning. It seems like MJ kind of had an idea of how he wanted to perform a song like that, and his intuition was right on the money.
très très belle chanson avec une musique qui donne envie de danser je pense qu'elle n'est pas assez connue de grand public et c'est vraiment dommage bravo michael et merci pour tout
Totally 80's MJ song. Yes, I can see him singing this song in Thriller Album. I love this album, but ... I love ALL of his Albums. I wish they'd just find all these songs off these albums like we have, and somehow get them all on one or two CD's. That'd be amazing.
NOW I LIKE THIS AND IT'S THE REAL MICHAEL INSTEAD OF VICTOR MJ'S SLOWED VERSION OF SOMEONE ELSE SONG... I LIKE THIS... THANKS FOR POSTING THIS... I LOVE THIS...
Hey, I dig it. It's like funky New Wave, which was definitely popular around that time. Even MJ's throwaway tracks were better than a lot of other artists best songs.
Quincy Jones needs his ass whooped for not allowing this song to be released with the rest of the Thriller album. This song is so groovy and infectious! If MJ released this track he would’ve made millions off of it 🤔😏
The start of this is very reminiscent of "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters. Yet another excellent decision by Q & MJ to keep this off the Thriller album. Sounds too much like other songs around at the time & is not up to MJ's high standards.
I think it was strong enough, but you can’t put EVERYTHING on the record. This COULD have gone on an album, probably Thriller. We get it now tho, and in this time period of music that just plain “doesn’t have it” - it’s like a time machine. I would have loved a video for this. Cameo’s by Magic Johnson and The Miami Vice guys. MJ still SMOKING ASS in 2019. I love it.
I think the meat of the song was more than good enough, it just needed an intro and some arrangement etc to make the chorus stand out more and just make the song less repetitive in its instrumentation in general
