You can tell that he hears the arrangement the whole recorded finished song in his head while he is singing by his noises he is making in between lyrics keeping time and all. The vocal was no better on the album. Its perfect here.
What gets me was good he was when he was 10 years old. You go back to and listen to his early stuff like "Who's Lovin' You", "Got To Be There", "I wanna be where you are", and "Maybe Tomorrow". It still is rare to find someone that young and that soulful in their tone and delivery of vocals.
I'm just blown away. Now I'm wishing there were acapella versions available for more of his songs. Just imagine listening to studio acapella versions of Show You The Way To Go, Everybody, Baby Be Mine, etc.
He mostly did all the backing himself in all of his songs...his vocal range and harmonies were stunning.. I love the tone of his voice.. I really dont know how he manages to sing for so so many years with all the changes in his voice as he matured... I'm so grateful to him.. his humanity his kindness his generosity and just the beautiful gentle man he was... we truly lost a legend when he left ...xx love you always Mike xx ❤🥰❤🥰
That intro.. exposes Michael's character... Mysterious, jokingly, soothingly and uplifting..... A whole song could be created from just that intro ... The intro is better than the whole song!
Thank you for this. I was just isolating the backing vocals on my own. This is confirmation of what I heard. This man deserved to be the most popular man on the planet!
Starting his birthday celebration early with this gem. I just discovered it today!! I have absolutely always loved this song!😁😍 This is a perfect way to end a stressful week for me!! I can't help but wish he was still here. But as long as we have classics like this, he's still here keeping a smile on my face. Happy Bornday, Michael!
There is absolutely something so mystical about this man's layering.😭😩😍 It makes all the sense that he could just stand onstage and have both men and women passing out in the audience.
Thank goodness for this song brother Mike and I am appreciative of this song because of it, I am very grateful for the music and your words and love for me and I am at tears right now and I love you guys and thank you very much and I hope that we will be together soon and that we will have our time together again someday soon and I’m so grateful for you and your family for all of your hard prayers. because I miss you guys and ms.Kate

Everyone constantly says "oh man raw talent!" or "effortless!" but if you know Michaels upbringing it was anything but that. His talent didn't just fall into his lap. He was worked (and abused) very hard to get to this point. That's not to say that he didn't have something special, he definitely did, but the point is you have to WORK for this level of talent. Besides that point, this is truly fantastic & masterful!
I can't believe it is the first time I am hearing this version. The "Off Wall album" was the album that initiated Michael Jackson to me. My sister visiting from California had taken it home to Jamaica back then for me. Thanks, sister (Miss P) if I had never told you before.
When you start singing and dancing at 5yrs old and performing at the last day you breath, this man Sacrificed his life to entertain us (The Jesus)of the music entertainment world Simply the best of all time.
Nothing like a Rod song, I miss both Michael and Rod.May they both Rest in Peace always....that Quincy is such a genius for he knew exactly what it would take to propel Michael into a place of stardom that was eventually called a MEGA STAR so he assembled the best musical team EVER
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!! Pure Perfection! I can't stop listening to this. His voice was flawless. OMG the harmonies. Siedah Garrett always said he was serious about his background vocals.
