He was already famous in the 60s and 70s,even if he was with the Jackson 5. Producers and people around him said he was the center of attention at that time. I would say his prime years were in the 80s. In the 90s, despite the allegations,he was still very famous and touring the world for concerts and charities.Actually,I think the 90s was the best time when the world got to see Michael coz he visited different countries a lot at that time.It's where you can see people mobbing him a lot globally.In 2000s ,eventhough he wasn't that active at that time, no big deal, because he was already THE Michael Jackson,and whenever he went out in the public, people still went crazy. So I would say it was almost his entire life that he rocked the world.

You can tell after his nose job Michael transcended on the image front. The timing of that with the hairstyle and outfits suited Michael's entertaining personality! Everything just clicked into proportion with his confidence shooting through the roof! If anyone was around at the time you would remember that Michael's changes were subtle over a period of time and at the same time his brothers were changing their images too! Age played a part in his changing facial feature also, especially in later years. He was in no way a freak as the media would like you to believe today. He was a style icon who was always ahead of the curve!

Best and my favorite version of MJ. Was as perfect of a human being as you can get. On a bit on the thin side though. Only thing I would add are some defined muscles on those bones. MJ owned the 80's. He was king of the world.

If I had been invited to visit him with my family, and sleep in a room the size of our bungalow, with bouch of others... yes I would be one of those kids probably. Always wonder how he’d have looked if he had stopped the surgery at this point. Like if he stopped it here how would he have grown to look. All era’s were amazing, but smooth criminal was the first vid I saw of his as a kid and I believed in magic from that point on. This guy was something else, never to be seen again. King.

Michael Jackson looked his best from 1982-1986 and he looked his very best and most popular look from 1983-1984, where 1984 was his best look. The Thriller era was his best, the Bad Era is overrated, most people just like that era because of the way he looked.

I'm almost 40. I remember watching Smooth Criminal and Bad on tv as a kid in the late 80s. Some of us are even older than me, like people born in 1981 and they have even more memories of that period.
You can see in some of the moves from the victory tour we're in development mode and he executed them during the Bad and Dangerous world tours. Plus 1984 from the looks of it was when the vitiligo began to really take over

Guys he never had vitiligo, don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan that’s obsessed with him. But Michael was really amazing at that time but black people were oppressed back in those days and white people were more famous and people would mostly listen to white people. You know how he wanted to be a perfectionist he made a smart move by making people think he was white but he was black. But still don’t get me wrong cause I love him with all my heart and I did a lot of research for this

One could argue Michael's style never much evolved from these days. Glitter and glam costumes, shiny hockey pads on legs. Also the choreography where he and the dancers stop for some sort of pose during the song, like he does in History song and They don't really care about us.
Nah you don't know Michael.. Mike went from glam n glitter to 3piece tailored custom made suits.. But he would pull out the past every now n then.. But only for the concerts..
I would say it did evolve overtime especially if you compare thriller to the bad era, but of course he kept certain elements which marked his signature style.
