thanks for putting this up on youtube. this was brilliant. he gave so much, he wanted to be the greatest, but the world swallowed him up, every star on the way up makes big money for the media, the industry and the hanger ons. but once that novelty wears off, the money isnt there for just praising. money comes from salicious stories. mj was the king. but he brought alot upon himself. but its easy to say that in hindsight! RIP KINGOFMUSIC
The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, deposited four singles into the Billboard Top 10 and showcased (or, more specifically, unleashed) Jackson's talents as a entertainer, a vocalist, a writer and, most importantly, as a leading man. Off the Wall signified MJ’s independence, and not just from the stifling creative control foisted on him by the folks at Motown. Over the course of 10 revelatory tracks, MJ serves notice that he's no longer the cherub-faced boy with the notable afro, he's a full-grown man, one capable of workin' day and night, not stopping 'til he's had enough and loving so hard that it cuts like a knife. A masterful mixture of fiery disco tracks (album opener "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Workin' Day and Night"), smooth, loverman tunes ("Rock With You," the McCartney cover "Girlfriend") and positively soul-devastating ballads ("She's Out of My Life," on which Jackson famously breaks down at track's end), Off the Wall is sumptuous, sexy and self-assured, a powerhouse that, through sheer skill of all involved, re-imagined R&B, disco and funk as not just so-called "black" music, but as colorblind, all-encompassing pop music, tunes that the entire world could groove to,And they did. Off The Wall has a lot of dance music because Michael went to a disco club called “Studio 54” alot where celebrities met at that time and he liked to see people having fun there, he was always too shy to socialize. This influenced the style of the album. Long Live The King Of Music Forever! Michael Joseph Jackson🤩🙌🏽👑💖🔥🌟#MichaelJacksonKeptDiscoAliveLiterally
Everyone has heard of Studio 54, it's one of if not the most famous nightclub in history, and Off The Wall was the biggest selling album in the history of black music until Thriller.
I love the scene of the London concert the Jackson's were singing Blame it on the Boogie, the ENTIRE audience were DANCING. Their music was so phenomenal.
I never knew that the Jacksons went to Phiilly for 2 years🥀im really enjoying the way that they are actually showing how it was not easy after leaving Motown 💞💞💞
That Louis Johnson clip has been viral years and i love that it's here. Love that Louis and Rod Temperton get love here. And David Williams and Greg Phillinganes.
Off the wall was the best album Michael ever put out it’s singing it’s instrumental it’s true R&B Thriller was great don’t get wrong but off the wall was to me real Michael
Who knew that 1979 Michael Jackson would come out with Off The Wall after being in The Jackson5 But then Michael would return with his brothers on 1984's Victory but before that he really blasted the blockbuster 1982 Thriller album but Off the Wall still remains classic. He and his brothers was discovered by Berry at Motown and then Quincy at Epic.MJ became The Moonwalker, MJ became the King of Pop and MJ became the Man in the Mirror.
1:01:29 that bass line, 1:05:42 the most attractive woman that ever existed, but I learned too late she was never in my life, even now it cuts like a knife.
If I was the cameraman I would have told the dude he still got the comb sticking out of the big old 'fro, they must have been in hysterics when they finally told him.
Strange most white fans say MJ looked his best during Bad era.. Wonder why? Also notice most content from J5-OTW-Thriller era MJ has way less views.. Very strange but Real MJ fans know those are the Eras that turned him to the Most Famous person to ever live and Universally loved by Everyone..
I'm white but I never liked his ever changing appearance. It kind of in a way created a division with his fans in terms of his appearance with there being a "black era" MJ and a "white era" MJ and yes I know he had vitiligo. He looked best during off the wall for sure. he looked pretty good during bad era, but it's all downhill from there.
@@travishylton6976even though Thriller was his best selling album i feel like most of his casual fans gravitate towards his later works that are more relatable and personal ala Dangerous, HIStory and Invincible which is of course the "White MJ" that most people are familiar with.
Very interesting on how 🎶🎶 music is made🌺and how it is all brought together🥀it is just like anything in life you must truly enjoy what your craft is all about🐾💞and strive for the best 🥀🌺💽🥀🌺💽🥀🌺💽
