No, Randy wasn't snatching the mic. His mic wasn't working, Michael was testing to see if his was, so Randy could use his. That's all. Peace and love! :)
This show is epic. I wish they would remaster it and release it on dvd/bluray! I love how much better MJ sounds when he comes in, even if randy's mic was working he still wouldn't sound like that. Plus, how camp was Randy in those days, lmao
michael gave everything he had to make this concert so amazing, he was so incredible... he looks gorgious and look at his body moving.. waaauw... and for everyone who wants those concerts to be released on dvd, triumph, destiny, victory, bad and history tour, i send lots of mails to sony, i won't stop untill they released them, and everyone schould do that, then they will realises how many fans are so desperate.. good for us, good for the jacksons and sony!!!
Wow..., I was at this Triump Concert in 1981 when it came to Cincinnati, Ohio. Graduation gift. Great Great Great Show! How time has flown. Miss you Mike J.! PEACE
yep...MJ knew exactly what he was doing which is why he did the "Victory" tour & ended on a HUUUUGE positive not with his bros who helped get him there & it even up more doors for them
Yep. And it looks awesome, i wish they would release it using the original tapes, because i'm pretty sure they still have them, this show also appeared in the Journey From Motown To Off The Wall documentary and that was only 4 years ago.
I saw this show at the Chicago Stadium and got pictures to prove it. I was in the rafters but I had a 400 mmm lens. lol They way they came out with such an agressive attitude and showmanship it put the world on notice that the bubblegum days were really over.
for the life of me, i dont get why his estate is sitting on this footage in pristine quality when they couldve released it already. any and everyone who witnessed this tour have nothing but great things to say about it. now i wanna see it how they saw it
true but they can only do what they were all born to do & my thing is that if it's anybody that's gonna uphold MJ's legacy, who better than his 5 brothers who was there with him in the trenches putting in hard work from the very beginning.....im excited & its therapeutic for them on many levels
hate to disappoint you...BUT THAT WAS ALL STAGED & PLANNED ! My cousin was the choregrapher for that show in 2001 for the other dance segments....doesn't surprise me because the brothers would always play these skits of "fake family feuding" on stage which started with the "Destiny" tour
The only reason I didn't attend the Triumph or Destiny tours was because I was still a minor I was in my 20s early at the Victory tour twice and the Bad tour glad I saved all my programs ticket stubs and programs and I think I have everything they ever did I would pay to see them again but it would be very emotional for me not seeing Michael
I always wondered that too. I remember showing a friend years ago old footage from the victory tour, and they were like "damn, now, i see what you see..."
It's very weird to use the word "bigger" or "heavier" about Michael Jackson. He always had a slender, perfectly proportioned dancer's body. PERFECTION.
I think during this time period, Mike was just thicker all around and I for one am loving this thicker version. I think her changed his diet around Thriller which resulted in the weight loss. Pity, I like "STACKED" Mike and it's one of the many reasons I like the OTW/Triumph period.
@alicefljackson didn't you see the clip from this song? it's like they where gods spreading a rain of gold over the world. it was great at that time. it's 30 years ago and i know it like it was yesterday. when i hear the songs from that time i'm getting a kick and it gives me a good feeling. i just want to dance like that time
sorry hun but on the ORIGINAL song, that's Randy's part which is why MJ let his brother use his microphone until the soundman got that shit right in which he did
OMG! This was the best concert they did. The Destiny concert tour was flat!! They sang way too many of their Motown songs. They got outperformed by LTD. They stepped their game up with this tour. They put those Motown songs in a Medley. I went to all their tours when they came to Philly.
@jenn230269 Well, I think think that he carried them past their time. This was around the time when Michael was just blasting away. The Jackson 5 were huge in the 70s, and not just because of Michael. It was the whole group. But this the time when Michael was doing GREAT solo, his stardom was leaving the group, and becoming solely his own. Jermaine was doing good for a while, but unlike Janet I don't think he was able to get people, other than his fans, away from him being Michael's brother..
do you think he was thickest at off the wall? i agree with you on thriller, he definitely lost weight, then on bad and dangerous tour he looks a little fuller but i think he looks the thickest on the history tour, he really fills out them gold pants;)
DID YOU SEE HOW HE JUST SNATCHED THE MIC FROM MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!! There would've been a fight breakin out on stage if that was me lol. Well, at least everyone cheered for Mike
Jajajaja. Creo que es Randy o Marlon no se ve bien, que le quita el microfono a Mike cuando Mike se dispone a cantar y canta tan bajo que ni se nota su presencia. Jejejeje pero cuando Mike canta la gente empieza a gritar y aplaude. xD
ABSOLUTELY! The rest of the Jacksons were as we know now not talented enough to stand on their own as a group or individually. Without Michael they were/are little more than average. From this video and still today you can tell they haven't figured that out yet! Marlon and Randy (what's up with those pants) should have been tied to a microphone stand and not allowed to move around too much! Michael Jackson is the best there is, was, or EVER will be in this world or any other!!
