@beauboutwell thanks! our bass naturally has a very deep voice. although we have used octave effects in the past, we didn't use it for this song. what we did for this track was to have our bass sing 2 tracks -- one low and one high and we mixed them both together. the take that we show in the video was the low one.
Haha my sister who is a HUGE fan of Michael Jackson was telling me that I HAD to see this and that it is awesome. I have to agree. And the lead vocalist has a really good voice. :)
Wow! I know this is five years later and that you guys have done some amazing stuff since then, but this "Thriller" a cappella cover is creative, audacious, daring, impressive. You stayed close to the original without trying to mimic it which, I think, would have been a mistake. Super cool! Congrats! Love you guys! xx
one of the best acapella groups I have ever heard. props to the bass for the EXTREMELY low notes! never met someone who could sing that low! I'm a huge MJ fan and I know he would be very happy to see this, so keep it up :)
MrPiaf I also think not only Michael would be proud of this, but Vincent Price who originally narrated in the song towards the end, would also be proud of this as well!
A mark of any great arrangement is what kind of creative spin you can put on it. You guys add just enough extra harmony and touch to make it your own while staying true to the original. Truly awesome
Ain't nothing you can say about this............its just.................. AHHHHHHHHHHH! An expression of total delight, and funktastic harmonic vocal skill!!!!
2021, and it's time to post on FB like I do every year. Listening to it on repeat. Abby's arrangement is fantastic, and together with the execution it is such great ear candy!
I loved this to death! It's so fresh and fun. I really enjoy it when the power of the voice is unleashed and this is only one example of what it can do. This is all vocals and that's really cool. A lot musicians often forget that the voice is indeed an instrument. Maybe even one of the finest. Some musicians also tend to be very condescending to vocalists (I've seen it first hand) and they don't deserve it. They are usually working just as hard everybody else. Great video.
Still the best damn cover of Thriller ever. I try and post it every Halloween. Killer rhythm section, super tight harmonies, great vocals, excellent arrangement. So damn good!
Growing up performing and listening to vocal jazz and eventually becoming an audio tech for the UNT Jazz Singers, I've acquired a slightly conceited appreciation for the groups I appreciate. After hearing this, you've been added to my favorites list alongside UNT JS, NYV, MT, and a few others.
Some of the best a capella I've heard in a long time, you guys have got this locked! The fact that you decided to do a cover of some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits it just epic! Awesome work from everyone here, just awesome! Michael Jackson would have definitely dug this guys, love the ending as well!
I love a cappella music, love duwendemusic , and Michael Jackson . What an absolutely awesome performance of *Thriller* - and so appropriate for Friday June 13th.
I am absolutely amazed by this. I will be listening to this for at least the entirety of this next week or so, if not much, much longer! Absolutely incredible.
You guys Are F-ing Spectacular!!! Im not sure these commentators realize there is no equipment except for the mics. Lookin forward to seeing you guys Go Huge!
