Michael makes it perfect. The music makes it more perfect, cause he wrote most of his songs. While this wasn't written by Michael, no one else would've sung it better.

Not sure why people are thinking that the entire dance number is being done on set without any music playing to give timing to the dancers. But the isolated vocals are still incredible.

And to be fair, Michael recorded vocals for live performances too, which the sound engineer used either to blend with Michael’s live performance or used entirely in case Michael’s voice failed. For anyone interested in these types of things, Michael Jackson set a new standard in live performance engineering and this is now industry standard. Everybody of a certain size now use backing tracks. And that’s not a bad thing, doesn’t mean there’s no talent, it’s just to reduce risk and make sure the audience has a good experience.
People say that Michael Jackson was/is the King of Pop. After seeing this, I don’t think true words have ever been spoken. He is amazing, without music or anything he still has an amazing a voice and even his dancing never got in the way of his voice. Michael Jackson truly was one of a kind.
@@TheRamsay why are you hating for Ramsay? What does editing have to do with anything? There’s many examples of how good Michael was that don’t contain any editing. There are phenomenal live performances that he’s done that aren’t edited like in this video that show why he’s the king of pop. This being “edited” in any type of way doesn’t take away from that fact…
I decided to sing the backup vocals during the video and discovered after not singing in 10 years and not being able to sing back then, now I sound pretty good. This song makes the tone deaf into pro singers. It is magical.
This isn’t original audio from the recording of this clip. This is an acappella studio recording of the song with sound effects added in edit by whoever slapped this together. If you go back and listen to original audio from the beginning of the Thriller music video, you can immediately tell the sound quality is noticeably lower than this acappella recording. They couldn’t do sound recordings of this quality on set at the time, it required special studio mics in a soundproofed room. Still an impressive performance no doubt, but he’s not singing this while dancing around. This audio was sung while standing at a mic in a recording booth.
This is was everyone else sees when I’m with my headphones in at the mall and everyone around me thinks I’m crazy. Just imagine only MJ dancing, and that’s what I look like 😂.
@@shiroiku9314 absolutely. But he’s not doing that in THIS clip. He is 100% not actually singing in this clip … he may be singing along but you are not hearing that vocal. What you are hearing is an vocal track which he had recorded in a proper studio previously. He is lip syncing to that track.

Thank the stars, someone else who isn't so easily fooled, sure his actual live acapella is great but this was just not live as so many viewers may think at a slight glance
Btw this isn't a live performance this is just the studio vocals without the beat still pretty cool since he didn't use any voice effects All the foot steps and other sounds are just edited in aswell
Imagine sleeping at like 3:am and then you hear someone walking around and singing only to look and see Michael dancing while 30 zombies rise and start dancing with him
Not acapella he States the door slams and there's a wind motion behind him which shows me they took the voice separated it from the music added a few footsteps to it and there you have it at sound unique that sounds like acapella
