Singers do this to put little to no strain on their voices so that when they sing it sounds better and you don't hurt your voice. I did this when I sang opera. Some artists just go on vocal rest where they don't speak at all for weeks before a major performance. It's easier to just speak softly instead
@@jessiem276 I don't know him so why would I know why he didn't do it? Not all singers do this. Only some. My friend does Broadway and Cabaret's and she only goes on vocal rest for the 2 days leading up to the performances. I guess it depends on if how you talk affects how you sing. For me it certainly does. I'm a soprano and sometimes I struggle to have a clear sound when hitting high notes if I talk in my usually low tone. So on days I had practice with my singing instructors and producers I would speak softly and higher to prep my voice and before performances I would try to do this for a little while before. Maybe this person you are talking about doesn't have this issue so doesn't need to

They sang "Stayin' Alive," "How Deep Is Your Love," "Jive Talkin'" and many other hits. Barry Gibb was the oldest brother, and sometimes he sang even higher pitched than Michael Jackson. I understand what you're saying, though.
The jackson family are soft spoken because their father didnt allow any yelling in his house. No voices raised, no yelling. Only the father could do that.
MJ’s voice was NEVER feminine and it wasn’t even that high pitched especially after 25.. he was just soft spoken. He spoke naturally deeper in his 30s & 40s.
So you hear a story about a person getting a phone call once where he started talking for a second in a deep voice and that means he was faking the voice the whole time. I need more than that before I believe it.
Game had a similar story when Mike called him back in 2005 to squash the beef with 50. Said Mike called him and spoke in his normal voice. Mike was a huge fan of “how we do” 😂😂

It's not even recently, there is Many of his friends who have said this. There is even a radio prank call to MJ and this super deep voice pics up and the station is confused and Jackson picks up on it and is like oh I'll go get Michael. Then talks with the soft voice. He also went thru his career deeper and deeper on public, watch him like 95 and then just before death giving a public speech. Clear difference.
Even during live performances when he would talk to his huge audience he used his real baritone deep voice even during the Super Bowl halftime performance before he was going to sing "Heal the World" and during his History Live performance when he was singing "In the Closet"
I think as a vocalist this makes soooo much sense...Think about it if he is already talking in his high register then singing there would be sooo easy the transition would be seamless... It would make singing the equivalent to talking for him. but if he spoke low he would have to do a lot of warm ups in order to get to his higher register ...🤯🤯🤯🤯
He is not faking it. He change his speaking voice so he can sound like that. That is what his vocal coach i think told him or he just discovered or heard somewhere but it really effective i think.

It was no secret that. He said why he did that in several interviews in the early 80’s. He said he didn’t want to strain his voice. He probably just stopped explaining himself at some point because it was fun to him to mess with people. That was his Peter Pan skit.💯💯
Prevents the friction on the cords that most people do from speaking normally, and harshly. If your voice gets tired in the evening, or you wake up sounding rough, your speaking voice is straining your vocal cords. Most experienced singers will either do this, or not speak at all on the day of a performance. It also preserves high notes post puberty.
Thats also like how dmx barked to add more depth to his voice so there were no breaks, he had a naturally deep voice but especially for rapping if you bark or growl it will make your voice deeper for awhile so prior to rapping or even talking publicly he would bark or growl and to not be weird and make people question the barking or growling he incorporated it into his image, however this can damage vocal chords over time and even permanently, and its very noticeable when he emerged from his public hiatus later in life his voice was very noticeable how higher pitch it was and many couldn't believe it was him but years of barking and aging just changed his voice.
There is actually a video where Michael Jackson speaks in his normal voice on purpose in front of everyone. I wish I could find it. You might Google it but it's out there
I mean, this is not a Gilbert Godfrey situation. Even chris tucker one of his best friends said he actually sounded like that. There is no proof of what this guy is saying, and his best friend said he did have a high pitch voice. If anyone didn't know Gilbert, goffrey did put on a fake voice and one time. Howard stern played his real voice on the radio.
The problem with this story is, Michael was chemically castrated, his voice never dropped, so Michael was either ising a voice synthesizer to deepen his voice or the voice couch was training him to drop his voice.
He had a chimp, theres a rapper that was friends with him he said he was there one day and michiak aint this little dainty man everyone think he is, he said the chimp bit someone and michials was instantly enrahed and he yelled at it in a real deep voice that was intimidating and have the chimp a huge backhand and kept yelling it and hitting it till it submitted, he finished by saying michial was gangster but nobody knew it
He was known to prank call ppl he know's using a different voice then finding it funny so that just sounds to me like he prank called the man laughed and went to his normal voice
His childhood doctor admitted that he and his father chemically castrated him as a child. It's been done since Roman times. It makes the boy a "castrada". Always holding that boy like voice box
