Michael Johns, you were such an incredible singer. Your songs at the concert organized by David Foster and friends are really amazing, you were such an excellent and topnotch singer. I keep watching this DVD over and over again. May you rest in peace in the Kingdom of God. God bless your whole family at this time.
i didn't even know that he died, i am very shock, i remember watching him singing and he was one of my favorite on that season, sooo sad!! RIP Michael Johns!!!
That sucked. Just when he was taking off and getting in the "zone" he got eliminated. And what a dick move by Ryan to tease him about how someone was saved the year before - NOT COOL. If the "save" was available then, the judges would have saved him -- He deserved at least to be in the Top 5.
Listening to this tonight with a very heavy heart, he left the world with this powerful message. Truly a great man we lost tonight. We'll dream on and you'll always be in our hearts Michael, RIP.
Michael was a favorite of mine from American Idol. I had the honor of meeting him at a meet-and-greet in 2009. Even got my pic taken with him, which I will forever treasure. He was extremely nice and down to earth. I took it so hard when he passed away, and I feel so terrible for his wife. I'm still in shock 2 years later. :(
Always hated how Ryan told everyone that he was eliminated even though it was the Idol Gives Back week. This was the reason for the Judges' Save. The Idol finale had better mention Michael Johns this year.
Still being blown away by this performance. I almost laughed to think that someone like him once rocked the idol stage. No one ever has come close to him. Idol was honoured to have his presence really. Most of what they did later was a mockery of the class michael Johns had.

It's SO awesome that we all still remember & are touched by how this REAL winner went out last year - was THE most shocking event on AI I've ever witnessed. I will always be a HUGE fan of this rockin special talent .. & yes, I'd do him too!
I remember i wasnt able to watch american Idol that night and when I found out he was eliminated I said "no way your kidding me right?" It was a very shocking and sad night. It should have been Michael Johns and David Cook in the finale.
i met him through my camp singer who has recently passed and who michaeldedicated a song too, Jon Allmet. hew is a great guy and its very unfourtunate that he was eliminated, but this may acually have been good for him even though i would have loved too see him win it all thanks michael your awsome!
yep yep i thought so too. it said before he and carly were the only foreign competitors and guess what they lost. but he does have a cd coming out around summer! cant wait for it!!
I watch the show in Ireland every week and I had Michael Johns picked from hus first audition... he is a huge talent, and he performs like a professional every week. I'm gutted that he is voted out because there are a lot of people still in the competition whose voices do not match up to his.
This was the shocker of AI season 7. Michael Johns was one of the favorites and there has been noone like him since. If they had the SAVE then, he would have been saved. People not voting for him because he was Australian. I thought he would be at least top 3. R.I.P.
I honestly thought that in the finale it would've been David Cook vs Michael John...and then this shit happens WTF. America voted wrong; he didn't deserve to go.

i frist noticed him when he sang 'Bohemian Rhapsody'..n i knew that he'll the next American Idol..but i DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!!!hated that night when he was eliminated!!!!
It's like the 3 Hollywood Fighters bonding together lol In my opinion those 3 were the 3 strongest Hollywood Week performances that we were able to see. Yet they stand there as the bottom 3...
I like Jason Castro as well as Michael. Michael was my 2nd fav after Jason. Theres NO WAY Michael should have left. It upsets me that Kristy is still there, are all the country music fans voting for her or something? I think they are keeping her in, but shes not that talented and makes the others look like superstars. Michael should still be there! Jason has a very good voice, he just sings soft and kinda low, but he sounds great when hes singing.I will miss Michael so much!!:(
The way that Ryan dismissed Michael was not very nice. I thought he was going to say that no one was going home. It's almost like he was teasing Michael and the rest of the country. What a total shocker. He's better than many of the idols. I had him in the top three. I will miss him.
At first when I saw this back then I was not schoked cause i didnt care who went home but I was only 16 then but now im 20 and looking at this now I can't believe that even happened!!!! It wasnt until Pia Toscano's elimination that eliminations like hers and Michaels were really schocking and very upsetting and it makes you really think about why did this happen
I did vote from him. I spent the whole 2 hours voting from him on 4 different phones, online and texting! The majority of people commenting mostly likely voted for him but not enough people did!
I totally agree. Ryan was really inconsiderate to Michael! Plus I really thought Michael was better than a lot of the others on that stage. I REALLY hope someone signs him.
