A quick basket would have just meant that the Jazz had more time to shoot the last shot. It's normal for every NBA team to hold the ball to have the last shot or the last good shot of the game in that situation.

The Jazz had ample time to run a quick play but Stockton missed his 3 pt. shot. They should've gone for a 2.
