About a month and a half ago, MJ celebrated his 52nd birthday. This video tribute collects some of his innumerable spectacular plays. (I wasn't very satisfied with the previously uploaded version, so I've made some changes).
What is amazing is that he did this NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT. You'll be hard-pressed to find a game where he didn't make any highlights. I've fortunately watched most of these games live and 20+ years later I still find these unbelievable. Younger generations need to watch this and see why he is called the GOAT.
Move number 23 is one of his greatest moves ever. No player ever in the NBA has had the ability to do that... He drives, stops on a dime and shifts his weight to bound sideways in the air for a ridiculous distance, with the first defender actually getting his whole hand on the ball, and after breaking through that he leaves another defender jumping for nothing but air. The most underrated layup ever!
The often overlooked part is that many of these are late in the game and mortals that play nearly as many minutes as MJ, would never be able to consider making these plays in their wildest dreams at any point of the game.
Agreed. It's one thing to impress players who are rooting for you. It's another thing altogether to amaze the players trying to beat you to the point that they can't control their own reactions. I would love to see a video of nothing but opposing bench reactions.
Although number one was definitely one of his greatest ever but personally I still think number 5 is the greatest in-game move I still have ever seen to date. Dang, we forget just how amazing his in-game exploits were. I think the NBA at present is the most competitive and skillful we have yet seen but Michael Jordan is still considered the best even in comparison. Amazing.
+Tulbeful I think he saw the second defender about to jump to try for the block, in an instant jordan changed hands, but that defender didn't follow through. Just a guess.
Balthus23, you are the Michael Jordan of making Michael Jordan videos, while everyone else competes to make second-best videos. I would love to see an MJ video of plays that only show his strength, so that the LeBron and modern day fans can appreciate MJ's pound for pound strength. LeBron is very strong indeed, but the younger folk don't truly understand how strong MJ was too. A case could easily be made for MJ as being the stronger player, simply by watching all your videos and seeing COUNTLESS plays where Jordan's opponents fall like dominoes upon contact with him... and on many contact plays where he gets severely wrapped up, he still has the strength to finish the play, often leaving his opponents flinching in amazement or frozen in disbelief.
Im Lebrons fan...but know i realized why most people said..Michael is the goat. He was play like no other player in his era. His style is inspiring the next stars including Lebron. But i think no one can be like him.
the re-edit is much better. thanks and i am still amazed by that handle and instinct at 9:37. that's a way more robust maneuvering than lets say the double behind the back by curry recently. any of these are spectacular shots that you dont see every day in nba, but for this guy it is only a tiny bit of samples of his own highlight.
Obviously a layup-centric list so guess that's why the Miami dunk (one of the best plays ever) was 41st. Glad you put the shot against The Nets #1. Maybe the most ridiculous non-dunk in traffic ever.
I like the way you did the highlights 1. because there's no stupid music--get to hear the announcers and 2. you don't cut the clips so fast that you can't hardly enjoy them before the next one. Nice work )
this nigga was fu#ckig amazing!!!!!!!!! who the hell you no that makes beautiful shots like that with D -fence being played on them??? nobody but this dude
Appreciate the re-edit. This version is so much better than the original which was so jarring and time consuming with those long numbered intermissions.
The "Air Reverse" was his signature move in the Sega Genesis basketball game Bulls vs. Lakers back from 1991. It seemed like Jordan did these moves on a regular basis. These are moves that we would do as kids with a mini ball and a 6' rim. LOL.
So that's where they get it from. Those back shot reverse with one hand and stopping by the left hand to the wrist. Hehehe. Everyone wanna be like Mike like number 19.
I kept waiting for his dribble in out around and up against the entire Knick team. Now think for a moment that these weren’t even his absolutely unstoppable mid range turnaround.
In EVERY one of those plays, if the defender went straight up, Jordan jumped into him and went to the line. Today, he would be called for a charge on the verticality rule.
These players had had it. "I have done everything and it still goes in" lol! Some, J doesn't even care anymore, once the ball is up, just get the ball, put it out and pass. Hahahaha
Bro you missed the play against New York where he faked out Charles Oakley and John Starks and then Dunked on Patrick Ewing that play should have been at least number 2 or 1
Balthusss. Have you uploaded all the individual games you possibly can?(excluding ones that you might not have put up because others already have). Do you have MJ's 32pts on 14-18 FG with 10STLS in 27 mins during the 87-88 season? :) thanks.

***** Amazing thing about this is that I feel that you missed 10 moves that could easily crack the top 20 on this list that are not here at all. Like the one in Philly vs Manute Bol where he hangs in the air forever and Hube Brown tells you to "appreciate this" in the replay.
Khmer Rouge You missed the title... It says 'amazing plays', not best plays. He created a nice selection of 52 amazing plays to celebrate his 52nd birthday and you berate the video. Furthermore, nobody could ever truly create a generic top 20 for Jordan because he has hundreds of bits that could all be in a 'top twenty' so it comes to personal opinion and some prefer artistic plays, whereas others prefer crunch time plays. Jordan has done everything so many times that you could better narrow down a top 20 into categories such as 20 blocks, 20 moves, 20 shots, 20 fastbreak dunks, 20 layups, 20 reverse layups, 20 facial dunks, 20 assists, 20 steals, 20 game winning shots, 20 dunks, 20 impossible looking shots, 20 multi-player-facial dunks, etc... and even then, it still comes down to opinion.
That was my whole point. That's why I said that it's amazing. Because he has so many incredible plays that even in a top 50 I felt like there were so many great plays missing.
Funny thing here is...not about the difficulty of the shots he makes...it's the crowd reaction...most of these shots were made on the road and the crowd cheers like he is on their team!!!amazing charisma that may never be duplicated again...
