"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
@M Greatest sport? Sport cant be considered great if its popular. For example if saying stupid things (such as your comment) was the most watched sport that doesn't make it "by far the greatest". I have nothing against football but hear me out. It's too boring (imo, many others agree) , basketball, handball are boths more dynamic thus being more interesting to watch. And if we don't look at the spectator side of it football isnt much complex (example: wrestler, gimnasticks guy, karate dude can play football 1000 times better than footballers can do their sports). Physique wise footballers have strong legs and running endurance, not all round as many other sports. Soo...why is football "by far the greatest sport"? Bcs you are biased? Bcs its tHe mOsT pOpULaR? Neither is a valid reason.
This is MJ’s most impressive ring. Unlike 96 & 97 where everyone else stood no chance against them, the 98 bulls were a shell of that. Scottie was rarely healthy, Dennis was not productive for big chunks of the year, the other role players all visibly declined, MJ himself wasn’t getting younger, and the massive internal turmoil within the organization between Krause, Phil, and the players. Yet, they won because they still had Michael Jordan on their team who carried and willed the bulls to this title.
Michael not only scored the *winning shot* that gave the Bulls their last championship, he also scored *45pts* in his final game for them - the number he wore when he came back from retirement in 1995. Truly the stuff of a Hollywood movie!! 🐐 #23
The last three minutes he got: 8 points in total 4 free throws made 2 steals 1 rebound 1 clutch layup AND 1 amazing cross over to put the game away GOAT

I mean he is the goat but Lebron did carry his team on 2018 but he didn’t beat the warriors but it was as impresive as Jordan carrying this old bulls team
Jordan with the lay up, Jordan with free throws, Jordan with the rebound, Jordan with the steal, Jordan with the Game Winner... The man put Chicago on his back...
+Realjayrome Exactly The refs suspending Draymond and like you said Kyrie hitting the game winning shot. No game 7. Jordan never played in a game 7 in the NBA Finals
He went to the free throw line on two very questionable calls. I think Stockton got there on time and I didn't see how the other was a foul. Jordan missed 3 shots in the last three minutes and passed the ball probably 5 times. If this is your GOAT. Y'all can have him. I'll take Kareem every day
+Bryon Carter lololol. Lay up, steal, final shot. Win. Bye bye. 6 final 6 rings. 6 fmvp 10+ scoring champ. 5 mvp. 40 years old still could score 40 points. Career 30 ppg. 50% fg. That's many ppl goat. U cherry pick a certain period of game and then compared to ur goat. Lololololol.
Layup, Steal, Stepback, Title The last 39 seconds of this game PERFECTLY sums him up. Has there ever been a series of plays that personified a player any better?
LeBron 2013 finals- Titanic block on Splitter, Hustles back on offense and finds Ray Allen in the corner for 3, next on defense pokes ball out for a steal, follows it with fastbreak dunk. MJ and LBJ are the two best ever by a mile. No one like them.
I totally agree with u. I am showing those amazing moments to my kids to let them understand there was a time defense was a big part of the game. MJ is having the feline instinct, and fighting hard both on offense/defense with grace. To me Kobbe was the closest to his greatness; King Lebron is a monster but not able to bring the same excitement in the game.
To be fair this wasnt that great of a game stat wise for MJ and the last point he scores with the bulls is a clear push off that the refs no for him to win the finals.
@@IamLimitless. I get it … I was young once ….. For example …. I used to think (in boxing) Mike Tyson would annihilate Muhammad Ali. Til I got old enough to understand how truly great Ali was. Then I realized I sounded foolish for thinking such things. Even though that’s a boxing reference it’s an idea of what I’m speaking about. @@raidersacdc4892 all I wanna say to further prove your point is 2011 finals and 2017 game 3. Jordan would never have that type of performance like lebron did
@@mikebeesley5458 Byron Russell was lit up like a match in the two finals he matched up with Jordan. He's practically in Every Jordan highlight when it comes to Jordan's clutch play in the finals. He wasn't gonna stop anything regardless.
Its nuts. In the last 1:11 of live play no Bull touches the ball but Michael. He got a rebound, 2 free throws, a quick score, a steal and a game winner. The amount of pressure he played with and accepted is insane. His teammates allowed this because they knew he would bring them home in the clutch. How could his GOAT status ever be questioned?
@@acornsucks2111 its definitely not the same. Hitting a wide open shot, compared to doing every single thing neccessary for your team to win. If you want to expand it, you can say in the last 3 minutes not a single Bull scored. But Jordan was tired, evidence of this is in his short front rimming jumpshots. Yet somehow, he managed to perfectly sink an 18 foot jumper with just seconds to go. Everyone knew where the ball was going, yet he still managed to make it happen.
@@dontatme__ You just posted that no one else was shooting the ball down the stretch and I pointed out two examples of your flawed comment. Reading your post is lowering my IQ.

*Everything about this moment is so perfect.* Down by one point. Has the ball. Crosses the opponent. Hits the shot. Forty-Five points. Six championships. Second Three-peat.
Jordan was so clutch at the end, he single handedly finished the game. Drew a foul to stop the clock then sank both free throws, quick 4 second score to put the Bulls down by 1, forced a takeaway, then let the clock run and sank the final bucket to go up by 1 with 5 seconds left. Simply amazing. He knows how to win.
@Lisa Rose Why are you hating on Stockton for no reason? He wasn't the one guarding MJ for those last two shots, Russell and Malone were. Stockton hit a 3 to go up by 3 with 41 seconds left. He IS clutch.
@Lisa Rose Just stop while you're behind. Jordan missed a wide open 3 at the beginning of the video, and a field goal that he should have made at 4:06. It happens, but that didn't make him any less clutch because he scored when he had to, just like Stockton did with that clutch 3 pointer to take the lead by 3 points with 41 seconds left. Quit hating for no reason.
@Lisa Rose You brought Steph Curry into the discussion of all people, so you don't decide it's not about MJ, who actually happened to be in the same game as Stockton. Take your unnecessary hate elsewhere, because you sound like a fool.
Esta emoción final morira conmigo..el baloncesto solo lo vi cuando jugaba Michael jordan..realmente hay deportistas de otro nivel..pero Michael es de otro planeta...simplemente el mas grande...
The impact of Chicago Bulls back in the 90s was so huge on basketball 🏀 nba etc that even nowadays people 30+ who’s not following recent trends still associate Chicago Bulls with the best team
Randy Brown saying "thank you" repeatedly to MJ when they hugged hits different. Michael did literally everything for the Bulls for the last 2 or so minutes of the game.
Basketball isn't the same without MJ. I recorded every game of the Bulls and Michael. They're on DVDs now so every once in a while I'll relive the excitement of watching him play, it's awesome.
@J G did someone bring up soccer? Soccer is a big sport in the rest of the world but I still think it's boring. Who wants to watch a bunch of 120 lbs guys lightly jog around a field for 3 hours and score once or twice? Make the field smaller and implement a shot clock and make it more violent and it will be some entertainment.
@J G - Then stop trolling and go watch soccer. No one said you have to choose one or the other. Save the bandwidth for those that appreciate this moment. In fact, post a link to a 'football' game that's as exciting as this. maybe win some over!
8:30 Phil Jackson absolutely called everything that happened in this 36-second sequence in an interview -- he told Mike that he needed to follow-through on his shot, that they needed a quick two, but he knew once Michael scored that on the other side Hornacek was going to set the back screen to get Malone on the block for Stockton to dump it into the post. Michael is gassed but he recognized it, stripped it, and in his shot he followed through. Amazing example of how even the greatest player of all time was coachable all the way to his last meaningful possession.
I remember watching this like it was yesterday. I was 10 years old. Longest 3-4 minutes of my whole life. Period. But somehow you just knew MJ was gonna pull it out.
I still shake my head in amazement at those last sequences of play by Michael Jordan. He lets everybody play the game, but when it's time to close it out,he takes over and wins it for them everytime. What a player What a legend.🏆🏆🏆•🏆🏆🏆🏀
It is still incredible to me that no Chicago Bull possesses the ball in the final minute and 42 seconds. Michael grabs every rebound, takes every single shot, every free throw, even steals the ball. The only thing he didn’t do was inbound the ball to himself.
facts! and you see his poise and ice cold delivery from the free throw line like no one was there.. it's like the pressure did nothing to him he already seen him self and the bulls winning. that man was a cold blooded killer ! so many legendary players will go to their graves ring less because #23 stood in their way. GOAT!
Don't care what anyone says, that was the golden age of the NBA. Every team had a mega star but then there was MJ, not getting past him. What a great time to be a Chicagoan
I agree the golden era foresure. Every team had a megastar and at least 2 other superstars. So many players were overshadowed by the mega star but yes best time to be a ball fan
@@JakeKoenig Lol that's bullshit. Jordan did not push off, it only looks like that from one angle. If you watch multiple angles there was no push off.
Unlike the bad boy pissedons, the Jazz at least showed class. Stockton and Malone both had the decency to go congratulate the Bulls on the team bus. All I've ever heard from Thomas or Laimbeer were excuses for acting like jerks
Got to see this live on TV as a kid. As I got older I realized how special this was. 2 3peats and has never lost more than 2 games in a row as a Bull in the 90s. That's crazy! GOAT.
MJ was dominant offensively and defensively in this game 6 to give Chicago Bulls their 2nd 3 peats. The greatness of MJ should never be questioned by anyone regardless of era.
This game is better than any game ive seen since Kobe's prime. I don't watch soft basketball. I dont watch what they call the NBA today. If they wanted to rename the league to the WNBA they should have just done it by now instead of pussyfooting around it. 00s NBA basketball on back is what i like. Actual TOUGHNESS and AGGRESSION coming from these tough athletes.
I saw Pelé, Jordan, Senna, Tyson, Bolt, Borg, Connors, McEnroe, Steffi Graf, Chris Evert, Monica Seles, Boris Becker, Karpov, Korchnoi, Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima, Tom Brady, Messi, Neymar ... saw them all, in some brazilian fields and TV ... legends!
I remember watching this game. I knew it was NBA history, the last sequence, MJ layup, steal and game winning jumper. The greatest clutch sequence in the history of the NBA finals. Still gives me goose bumps to this day. Always and forever grateful I got to see MJ play…
I'm a Magic Johnson and Showtime fan but good lord Mr. Jordan is a GOAT, UNICORN of Basketball, MASTER of the Game, and a KILLER to your basketball soul. No one come close to this man.
Seriously bro there’s no question and I met John Stockton in Spokane and he was mean and stand off ish and I see why after seeing this Jordan messed him up same for a lot of players 😂😂😂😂😂
@@excellmoney7746 Stockton just may have been having a bad day. I'm a diehard Piston fan but Isiah Thomas was wrong calling that a push on B. Russell by Jordan.
The last 3 minutes of that game shows why Jordan is the greatest ever. They needed every point, he got to the line and made all 4 free throws, got the steal off his missed 3 pointer. And to not clear to get the steal from Malone was just having bball iq.I mean damn he played both sides of the court. BBall IQ, defense, offense and that killer instinct. So he had 8 points and 2 steals in 2.5 minutes
Speaking of basketball iq, look at how he immediately notices the error in the refs offensive foul call against Rodman, who was never given a chance at a legitimate possession by planting both feet on the ground first. Jordan IMMEDIATELY notices that, shows his awareness and iq in the midst of high pressure moments.
True leadership and greatness is when the pressure is on , not his best shooting night but he was smart enough to attack the rim and get to the line keeping his team in the game, then he makes three consecutive plays to win it as Kerr said “your fucking unbelievable”
Stockton was a beast! When he hit that three point in the end, I thought it was over...... but MJ doing GOAT things. I still have the DVD of all the Bulls dynasty.
He went Thanos in that last 41 seconds. NO ONE ELSE on the Bulls touched the ball. MJ literally went and snatched a title away from two of the 50 best players who ever lived, on their floor, with a skeleton cast of teammates. It's just unreal how he ended his Chicago run. It's beyond sports...it was theater. The most watched game in the history of the NBA and MJ ended with the greatest flourish of all time.
How is it a skeleton cast of team mates Scottie and Rodman forming the best big 3 ever. Rodman leading the nba in rebounds that season (possibly the greatest rebounder ever) Scottie still a top 5 gaurd in the NBA Toni kukoc, the reigning 6th man of the year Steve Kerr- the most efficient 3 point shooter in history And big game Ron Harper
@@zaindiwan7614tbf, Rodman was unplayable in 98, Scottie had no back in 98, Kerr literally took 10 shots tops throughout the 97-98 season, and "Big Game" Ron Harper had a whooping 8 points in 28 minutes. Kukoc contributed a nice 15 points, which was good in the 90's, but still not big 3 type of a performance. It was MJ's game
@@zaindiwan7614 IN THAT GAME, Pippen was useless. Rodman had been depreciating returns and was relegated to the bench in the Finals. Jesus, some of you are so quick to hear yourselves talk, you don't even stop to fucking READ what others wrote. In THIS GAME, he had a skeleton cast of teammates.
I was 12 years old, me and my older brother saw the game live on TV in Germany. I never forget this tension, this beautiful feeling, thank you Jordan, thank you Chicago Bulls
Scoring the quick layup shot, coming back, stealing from the best PF, going back to score, looking at the clock, Staring straight at public, going for the crossover, jumped, released, ball went in without even touching the rim. Just straight up Pure Art!❤️
Had Malone had that [IQ of a genius], he would/should have known that he'd be doubled, and would have passed to ball to the guy that MJ was supposed to be on...well, as much as I like KM, he is no MJ, that's for sure. ;-)
I am you look there's a interview Phil Jackson did where he told Jordan in the time out they was gonna go to Malone down low an Jordan was gonna strip the ball. He told Jordan to picture it then he went an did it that's crazy
Russell thought MJ would drive to the basket like the previous play when he made a layup. That's why MJ was a great offensive player. He had so many weapons, and he used them accordingly, doing something different each time to surprise the defender.
That video where Jordan gets asked "Final seconds, games on the line, who takes the last shot?" Jordans answers with a disguised look on his face that you would even dare have to ask that question because you should of already known and never have asked. He was that offended. He goes. "Me" and walks off. RU-vid it.
@J G your argument makes literally no sense. You say that soccer is the "greatest sport on earth" without presenting a single argument to back up that statement. All you argument proves is that it's the most POPULAR and widely played sport on earth. News flash: most popular doesn't mean greatest. Dwayne Johnson is the most popular actor on the planet. Is he the greatest actor? No not even close. Popular doesn't mean greatest. Michael Jordan is the goat of basketball. Lol this has nothing to do with soccer
"If that's the last image of Michael Jordan, how magnificent is it?" They didn't realize decades later it would still be the most iconic image of all time

in the 90's watching Michael and the Bulls on the NBA on NBC was unmissable. We were spoiled. Watching this live, I lost my mind on the steal off Malone. So insane. There will never be another MJ.
NBA basketball NBC on Sundays was the shit! Jordan was must see tv.. I remember Chicago at my Team Boston.. Jordan just lighting them up and 1 shot by MJ just sticks in my head.. Ball is going out of bounds by the Celtics bench, shot clock at 2 Jordan saving the ball in mid air falling into the Celtics bench nails a 3 pointer!!! God was he perfect!! I feel blessed to have watched him..And we had BIRD and he was great too obviously..

the last minute sums up the Greatness of Michael Jordan for me & why I call him the best of all-time. He hit the quick layup, he then gets the most pivotal steal of his career, & hits the shot to go ahead in the NBA championship. It was a perfect ending to a player that captured the heart of the entire world! Man do I Miss him balling!
NBA has never returned to the 90's level. With w0ke virtue signalling and all that it's kind of over for the NBA. Not to mention that there aren't players worth watching. Lebron is good but he's not clutch and he's not really fun to watch. The whole game is ruined too now with it just being a 3 point shoot out.
Phil Jackson talked about this in an interview before. He mentioned how Michael’s jumpshot hadn’t been falling this game, he was letting his hand go early and not following through. So when Bulls called the timeout at 41 seconds, he told michael as soon as you get the ball attack the basket immediately, don’t settle for a shot, then after you score (which I love how Phil was so confident predicting MJ would score), he told Michael that on defense Jazz are gonna run the cross baseline pick to Malone. Phil told MJ to come around and try to see if he can get a strip on the ball. Same play Michael goes down and scores, on a jumpshot I might add, which he makes sure to follow through lol. Crazy how in unison Phil and Mike were, Phil with the awareness and advice for MJ, and of course Michael went out and executed to perfection. Shows how much they both trusted each other.
The best thing about Jordan is that he NEVER gives up. Most people, there at the end when Malone had the ball would have just ran down the court to get ready to defend. But not Jordan. He is simply on another level, beyond even the best then and now. And on the winning shot, he really didn't push Russell. His hand was on Russell, yes, but when Jordan stopped on a dime to make the shot, Russell got his ankles broken basically, and caused the illusion that he was pushed. I watched it live, and it seems just like yesterday. Since Jordan left, I really haven't watched much basketball, though I did watch Lebron through the playoffs this year. He is very good, in the ball park of Jordan talent-wise, but here's the difference: Lebron makes mistakes that Jordan never did, such as errant passes, passing when he should continue a drive to the hoop, complaining to a ref while the other team is taking the ball back across the court.
