I get why people are surprised if they don't really know about The Roots, but yeah, they are much more than just a random talk show band, they backup tons of artists live and their standalone albums are seriously acclaimed. They are legit. I mean I'm sure they consider it an honor to be doing The Tonight Show, but being a house band is a pretty thankless task compared to their "real" music and Jimmy is honestly lucky to have them around, much as Conan was fortunate to have Max Weinberg all those years.

Julio Rodriguez I find that comedians dont need help from the interviewer while they're talking or telling a story because that's kind of a comedian's job. The interruptions from Jimmy or any talk show host is to help the guest move on with their story with as less awkwardly or unfunny moments as possibly. Trust me sometimes interruptions from the host can really help a dull interview such as musicians or just plain boring actors.

Different subcultures have basic human things in common which we all share but then there are tons of superficial differences, so we get that funny anxiety of feeling like we're not fitting in when we're the odd one out. Most of us are civilized 21st century people so usually it's all in the mind and in reality the rest of the group is being very inclusive which is how he portrays it....obviously nobody really gives a shit that he's white, they invited him! But he can't get over it and starts acting weird which if you've ever been in that situation leads to hilarious awkwardness and misunderstandings, way more than if you joined in. Just because it's about race doesn't mean it's racist. His self-consciousness is the joke. As you say, we've all been there.

David Spade is not only a great standup comedian, he's a stand-up human too. He's aged really well (which is to say he is mature and admirable in demeanor) and his ability to entertain is still solid. I really love him as a comic and would be really happy to meet him!

are are you kidding? I am in England and have loved Prince since the early eighties and when he passed away I cried like I lost a close family member. Nearly 6 mnths since he left us but I play his music every single day. I shall miss this wonderfully talented, beautiful, spiritual, zany funny guy forever. I really pray that he is at peace

they say the thing that prevents racism the most is traveling to diverse places. Allows you to see and understand differences in people and culture. I think those people who travel a lot really understand that mentioning a cultural or racial difference idoesnt mean your talking down or criticising it. People should be equal in the eyes of the law and society but when it comes to lives traits and culture people are far from equal but also neither above or below one another. Even If youre culture and upbringing are alike to one another there is always something that made you into who you are and even if its somehow just 1 difference well that 1 difference is something that someone else will never be able to know what its like having. So instead of fighting over differences and instead of acting like we are all the same ppeople need to be sharing what its like and what its lead to and connect through that

Racism and stereotypes can be amazing when done right. I think it's really a matter of remaining humble and grounded, being able to laugh at yourself and your own race/stereotypes. Few people joke more at their own expense than David Spade which is why he can get away with such comments.

You can tell Jimmy genuinely likes David, they must be buddies. Jimmy has a funny/ embarassing story about going to see Prince with quest too and being forced to dance on stage with Prince. He told it when Queen Latifah was in, now I betting They were trying to do the same to David or get him to embarrass himself by dancing like Jimmy did, but he didn't fall for it LOL. Next they should try it on Adam Sandler Or Dana Carvey.
