I think this clip is sad, it shows how racist America really was, even then. Telling a young man his signature shoe is ugly, and MJ feeling the need to agree. Inside, he was probably proud of shoe but had to bend the knee to white man on TV. Regardless, im proud of him for rocking those "ugly" shoes and helping to change the league and the world in its perception of black people. Now the Jordan 1 is as iconic as any shoe ever made. Really goes to show how stupid and ignorant our usueless opinions can be in the time we share them...
And that why I hate this generation I know you were joking but let say somewhere serious and someone say something like that they would go ballistic it’s not safe anymore to say stuff like that☹️
He literally looks like the shoe in that interview Edit: before i hear any “you’re so racist” bs I’m black myself. I wouldn’t call what I said “racist” especially since it’s a joke about my own kind. This joke is basically like saying the N-word, obviously nobody should be mad I’m saying it because I’m black and the N-word is a slur about MY race. Therefore nobody should be mad I made a joke about MY race..
I heard that Nike actually never paid a fine and Jordan never wore the Jordan 1 Bred in an official game. Also MJ said he participated in the design but the designer Peter Moore had already designed the pair long before Michael Jordan wore them, it was just after they added his name and logo on the shoes
Greatest shoe of all time? Is that a personal opinion or a blanket statement? Contrary to belief, these weren't even that popular back in the day. Not as popular as everyone makes them out to be. Even the first retro in 94 ended up on sales racks in their thousands. Total failure. I bought a pair for £25 and had them about two weeks before I gave them to my cousin. I thought they were trash. Most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. Greatest shoe of all time is subjective. There are many I would put above this shoe in the, "rankings."
Its cap. He wore airships in the Chicago colorway, because they were still developing the 1985 Chicagos, and they got a letter for the airships. Not the air jordans 😂
Watch the movie “Air”, the story of Air Jordan’s. When Air Jordans appeared, NBA sneakers had to be All white. Jordan got fined $5k per game for any non-white shoes. Nike paid the fines for the free publicity.
That crazy and for Jordan to let him throw his shoe like that I know his dad rolling in his grave rn 🤦♂️ damn shame and people spending 150$ 190$ and more for his sneakers that he basically never gave a damn about or cared 🤦♂️
Dude was trying to shame him even mike wasn’t sure about the shoe he should told them well I do like em now everyone be meat riding wearing Jordan even with suits and ties 😑🤣
@@alexnather7614 yeah I had to go searching I didn’t know they was making his feet bleed 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂 Nike made them shits with cement or something. And the main thing was the color and the black covering most of the shoe.
