MJ retired 3 times lol!!! Was healthy all 3 times. The definition of a quitter. He whined to refs, punched teammates, complained to the league it was too rough and had the rules changed
@@jsgr5382 1. His father was murdered. 2. The upper management of the bulls (The Jerries) disbanded the team. 3. He was brought back because the NBA TANKED when he left the Bulls and they promised him ownership of the Wizards. Sit. Your. Behind. Down.
@@michaeltrenierAwww. Poor MJ. Daddy died and his gm was mean. You're talking like other NBA players never went through worse or similar. Fact remains. He retired 3 times and was healthy all 3 times. Dictionary definition of a quitter. MJ is 100% A QUITTER
@@DemizeofmediocrityExcellent rebuttal… Lebron is better at racking up meaningless regular season stats. If your goal is to WIN, MJ the goat, and it’s not even close
I can’t imagine you guys have seen Michael Jordan play, except for highlights like this. Mike was a killer. He was all defensive first team 9 times. He could guard anyone on the court. He never publicly begged for acceptance for being the greatest basketball player of all time like Lebron. Michael has more rings, more 50 point games. As a Knicks fan he broke my heart, but as a fan he is the greatest.
U said "as a Knicks fan" and I feel bad now years later. I'm from the chi and grew up a b.j Armstrong fan. Not cool to like mike,we all like mike, who is next. Ewing, starks, that whole team was a menace and u had respect...we never knew if jordan could do it...again, we watch the past and see greatness different. Starks was a bumb! Nowadays, that man was playing the best defense I've seen in 30 years...ALL GAME. Full respect to ur boys back then.
Remember back then when the season ended it ended. MJ was playing Golf everywhere . Imagine his SKILL in today's game? His driving to the Hoop! He definitely would have his "TEAM" playing Defense. Two different games. LeBron is 6'8 pushing 300 (and hate to say it but probably on sumthin' - now- Watch LBJ from 2022 (2019 even, the not traveling in Pandemic is why they won). But LBJ post pandemic Couldn't play D, couldn't shoot well and HURT A LOT! Now.... Hardly ever hurt minutes thru the roof running up and down court like nothing and going Bald Faster than a MF. Good thing NBA doesn't test. MJ looked the same his entire career. when he slowed down is when he said I'm REALLY DONE. didn't slow down then speed up again.😮
Guys I beg you, from a statistical standpoint, MJ destroys almost everyone except maybe Kareem, What Jordan did in his shortened career is unbelievable. Jordan also had this thing called GRACE and FINESSE that maybe only Kobe came close to.1 on 1, Jordan would absolutely defeat Lebron. I'd take speed and being a technician over Lebron any day. If you really want a 1v1 battle to settle this score, you pick Giannis. There is no one in the league right now that could beat Giannis 1on1. So it's not even about that. But trust me if you watched the incredible drive, passion and determination of Jordan in playoffs especially, it can barely be matched.
THEIR ARGUMENT IS BASICALLY THE SAME THAT WE DO TODAY, I'M IN MY 70'S, THAT'S WHY I HAVE A 3 WAY TIE FOR #1 GOAT BETWEEN JORDAN, KAREEM & LEBRON AND MAGIC FOR # 4, KOBE FOR # 5 WILT FOR #6, OLAJUWON, # 7 BIG O # 8 SHAQ #9 Curry # 10 RUSSELL

These kids dont understand how electric it was every time you watched Jordan played.. everybody was glued to Tv becasue we knew, we would see something incredible and never done before by anybody but him. And when the Finals came, we also knew that even against all odds, he was gonna deliver and find a way to come out on top. Whatever it was necessary whether defensively or offensively, he got the job done and never let you down or disappointed you.
Facts. And to be honest, I enjoyed the Wizard MJ almost just as much as the Bulls. His mental game was on another level then, as he had lost some of his athleticism but still managed to be a top ten NBA player at 40 yrs old.
@@djayb2259 You want facts ? MJ wasn't a top ten player in the NBA with the Wizards. This is a 1000% He was awful. His stats fell off a cliff. and he was 38,39, not 40. He also had two long breaks during his career.
@@jsgr5382 He retired at the peak of his career, come back in 94-95 and he won a championship next season. I dare any player in their prime take a 17 month break from basketball and play another sport then come back and win a championship.
MJ never ran and hid from anybody in the nba. Always consistent. Never stayed away from a regular game. Gave his best all the time. Thats a legend. Thats a role model.

Mid to late 80s to the late 90s was the best decade, rough ,hand checking legal,go to the paint on the hardwood you will be,look up the Jordan rules and Detroit's formula to beat Mike and the bulls.Force Mike left,if he drives to the paint hard foul Everytime.Took 2 years to beat Detroit and the "Jordan rules".Hack a Mike was the there def but the 3 eastern finals nothing was stopping Mike from the that first ring,or 2nd,3rd,played baseball to learn he can't hit junk but will turn on a fastball but that won't keep you in the majors so Mike comes back late season lost wearing 45,came back the next season than won 3 more straight.Nobody does that, closest was the showtime Lakers,Magic top 5 in front of lebron to.he may have 4 rings but took him 12 finals, that is no 🐐 status.
Jordan's years was the best years of my life. No other player has held a candle to him in my eyes. The dude was a determined beast. Played, slept, breathed ball.
nothing but straight FACTS!!! Michael Jordan was a GLOBAL phenomenon. I live in Suriname and I stayed up early in the morning (2am ~ 3am) to watch the Chicago Bulls.
@@MarioCastillion if I was where you were, I would have absolutely done the same. I literally have not had a favorite player since then. Maybe I am to picky now lol
These young guys REALLY don't know how physical it was in that era. For Jordan to do that then was insane. He gets 45 a game in this league between the calls and lack of physicality.
Stop exaggerating. You couldn't breath on MJ in the 90's. He lead the league or was top 3 in free throw attempts almost every year. 90's NBA was watered down garbage
@@QuiveringNow the NBA has never been better then now lol. It's literally the opposite of watered down. Its fully international..the best players from Fiba if they can make their way to the NBA. Fully international game. The avg player can now dribble and shoot much much better ,is in better shape, has a higher IQ and would smoke the avg player of the 90's who most were coked out and one dimensional. 2 expansion eras. @@sheaturner3229 Way to cherrypick one of the many points I made lol. All the tough guys of the 90's careers ended after 12-13 years. Guys will play alot longer today. Highlighting injuries of today as if injuries didn't exist in that era is bs. I guess it wasn't so tough after all if players never got hurt lol. Point is basketball isnt a tough guy sport. A little contact was a foul in the 60, 70, 80, 90, 00 and today. Any violence is a suspension in any era. Why you talking as if the rules were different in the 90's. In fact that era avg much more free throws then now..The refs called everything. Especially on MJ. The few series he had it tough he literally went to commissioner to change the rules. They avg alot of fouls cause players were slow footed , unathletic and piss poor defenders so they had to foul cause perimeter defending was non existant. But ya I'm sure your cherry picked example of a few players missing games really proves your point lol.

I'm a Detroiter, bad boy Piston through and through. No other fan base hated Jordan more than the bad boy era piston fan base. But let me tell you, I have to put some respect on Jordan's name. The best I've ever seen. Today's basketball players don't come close!
Yea top 50 plays are trash.. they'll show a wide open Jumper because it was an important moment and replay it 5 times The full highlights/mixtapes show way more plays
The thing is with these, this is what Mike did ALL THE TIME. To those who unfortunately didn’t see him play, these are highlights. To us who were there, some of these were just another Friday night
It's a great point. I've never seen a more consistently great player in the NBA or possibly any other sport. He almost NEVER had a bad night. When he did how many times did he suddenly turn it on in the 4th quarter to get the win, or follow up the off night with a 40 or 50 point game?
I had season tickets to the Bulls in old Chicago Stadium and that place would rock just in the introductions. I still goosebumps when I would watch replays
I got to watch both players over the years and I said this once and I will always say it. Lebron is an all time great but MJ is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Its not even close.
Gentlemen, great video! I gotta say that during his playing days MJ was getting hacked left and right! This dude was fighting so hard for the plays he was making AND he was making them look like art! He was the first to do such smooth and flawless moves, shots, dribbles, defense! He was breath taking to watch!!! Everything else that came after him was a version of him!!! So its impossible to compare!!! Everybody watched closely And emulated everything this man did!
Greatest player I’ve ever seen play and imo greatest of all time. I was lucky to have WGN in my town so I could see the Chicago cubs and the Chicago Bulls play. Every game Jordan played on we would rush home to watch because there’s only 50 moments here but this stuff happened every game, it was just what’s he gonna do this game. You didn’t even have to watch every play we would eat dinner and casually watch and every time they took it down the court MJ would do something magical. GOAT IMO
WGN was a superstation/national...it just was cable outside of Chicago instead basic TV. That I also was lucky to grow up in Chicago during this era. Agreed.
Watching Jordan was like watching a magician…. He could do anything… shoot anything… whenever it came down to last second cultch he would somehow always get that ball in even with 5 dudes on him… it was insane watching this man, he could fly!!! He was the most intelligent basketball player ever saturated with pure athleticism and out of this world skills….shit brings a tear to my eye remembering watching him play!!!!!
Mike was Different, I'm Glad I Got to watch him in his prime, he was unstoppable. The Goat Debate isn't even close, Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the Greatest of all time 🐐

Young people cannot imagine what it was like to see Michael Jordan play. Being the best player is not just about baskets scored, rebounds, etc. Michael managed to change the world of basketball, he made the whole world fall in love with basketball. That's why Michael is the greatest of all time. Let's not forget that during that time, basketball players had a lot of charisma, and the game was tougher than it is now. It personally hurt players when another team beat them. Greetings from Spain. Michael GOAT.
One of the most amazing things of MJ is that we haven’t seen any other player until this day that can do some of the things he did. For example, in football (soccer how some lame people call it), you can see over the time how some players add to their skills some plays, dribblings, feints, etc. from other players of the past and some of them even improve them. In Jordan’s case, I haven’t seen other player do the things he did or at least do them like him. He really is one of a kind.
It's more than the highlights. You had to see MJ play at the time - night after night, year after year, patiently and loyally building Chicago's success. He had a will to win like noone else. He could take complete control of a game - on both ends.
@@mr.righty6985 no worries he was right after Michael and he was from Maryland and went to Maryland. There are a few documentaries about him. A 30 for 30 no bias is the name

Man Whats wrong with y’all youngins LeBron James couldn’t hold Michael Jordan’s jockstrap. MJ never shrunk or choked when the lights were brightest! If management hadn’t broken up that team he would’ve had two more rings! And don’t forget he took off the whole year to play baseball
You can’t even begin to imagine what it was like to witness MJ dunk on Patrick Ewing and Dikembe Motombo!!! Just an amazing spectacle on both sides of the floor!!!!!
MJ is the GOAT, it isn't close. The highlights don't do him justice, he was that good. I wish we could see MJ square up against Lebron, you will see what us old timers are talking about.
That's what most people forget. Is on top of the offense he played the lethal defense and that does indeed make him it. And you look at the league then he was playing in and how tough it was compared to nowadays... you can't come close enough you can't get in the paint you can't touch them?
MJ was and still is the best to ever play. I'm not even into basketball and I used to love watching him play. To me that is what makes him the best. I knew other people who were the same as me. You are the best when you can get people who don't even like the sport you are playing to tune in just to see YOU play it. Plus he was just a good guy. Never had all the crazy drama like so many of today's athletes
Growing up watching Jordan, there's more to him then how skilled he was that makes him the best. It's the way he drew people into the game. He had fans of opposing teams admire & respect him. Everyone wanted to be like Mike. Don't hear anyone saying they wanna be like LeBron. He pulled the whole world into the game, something LeBron will never be able to do.
they dont understand how it was, there was no discussion back then about who was the greatest, we all knew. Do you remember pretending to be different players, but when you were Jordan with the ball, you were the best, you could do anything, and were better than everyone, no rival.
MJ didn’t only have the 6 rings and 6 finals MVP’s, but he was a 9 time 1st team defensive all NBA, 10 time scoring champion. Literally the only thing Lebron has over him is longevity.
Jordan...absolutely no question. I'm in my 50's and watched many games with Jordan in his prime including the championship games. Dudes, he was like the Muhammad Ali of the NBA...changed the game.
Except Jordan didn’t win his first title by his opponent being PAID TO LOSE…that Liston fight was ridiculous…got hit with a phantom punch and went down….one of the more obvious fixes in pro sports….and there’s been a TON…NFL is classified as “SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT “, NO other pro sport is except WWE….what does that tell you…
As a European i had to stay up until 2,3,4 in the morning sometimes to watch MJ play. 1 of the best athletes the world has ever seen, not just b-ball player...MJ the goat & shout out to Scottie Pippen as well, those 2 was the driving force on the 90's Chicago Bulls team...Legends
I had the honor to serve him at Madison Square Garden when the Charlotte team was the bobcats and he was looking to buy a team. He was 100% Class Act. My most memorable experience and moment while work at MSG. There's others but serving him was an honor
Here's what people feel to realize his rookie season he averaged almost 30 a year after leaving College and being clamped down by James Madison and held to 16 points because the man could not score against the Zone because he wasn't a great outside shooter but zone defense was illegal in the NBA you couldn't double team a man off the ball I guarantee you if they bring back that illegal defense rule Steph Curry wins at least six more championships before he retires
@@carllangley6812 yall swear mj is better than steph and that is an illusion. it just doesn't add up, no matter how you look at it. i dont care about the 6-0 finals run against hiv positive magic johnson and plumbers. its no comparison. steph never had a horace grant who averaged 14.2 points and 10 rebounds on 57.8% shooting on only 9.8 attempts a game in 81 games in the 91-92 season. or a pippen who was the 94 all star mvp and third place league mvp. mike went to play ball and the bulls won 55 games. steph got hurt and the warriors won 15 and some of those wins were from the 5 games he played before hurting his hand lol. mj was the greatest in the 90's when they had 5 expansion teams added from 88-95 is when became a winner. before that he was a ball hogging loser who claimed he lost because his teammates was on drugs and alcohol lol. zero comparison.
I was lucky enough to have lived outside of Chicago between 86-90. I wasn't really a Bulls fan per se, but Jordan basically opened my eyes to recognizing a once in a lifetime talent on live tv. You know someone is truly legendary if you can realize it watching them in their prime. Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Bo Jackson, Larry Bird... players like these, were truly a privilege to have watched them play in their prime.
I totally understand that the younger generation who didn’t witness MJ live will never know what their talking about so that’s why they’re the only ones who even doubt him. Notice they have to watch RU-vid highlights just to even know what he was about and a lot change their minds afterwards. But everyone who watched him live knows he’s the GOAT. Also what the younger gen doesn’t understand is mental toughness. They go off stats and measurements. They don’t know about MJ’s will to win that caused him to go 6-0 in finals with 6 mvps or else they’d never compare him with someone that got destroyed by JJ Barea and old Dirk in the finals. They simply just don’t know. Bless their hearts.
How was MJ not as versatile? The man literally changed how he played from one coach to another and became better for it. Not to mention he could play defense and set up plays.
MJ had killer instinct, Clutch Gene, Underrated passer, and a way better defender. He was the entire package. he doesnt run away from the moment. these highlights not even close to what he brought night in and night out.
That brings me back great memories. I was a huge Laker fan of Magic Johnson, Worthy, Green, Kareem , so many great games against Celtics, Pistons Thomas, Rodman, Salley etc but when Michael Jordan started playing he raised the bar such an exciting time to watch him play basketball back then, thanks for sharing.
I graduated HS in 93 so i know everything MJ and Lebron and even though i didnt like either,MJ is EASILY better!!!! Anyone who watches highlights of both can see this!
This gave me chills watching Michael Jordan in the 90s. We watched every game we could. The Bulls with Coach Jackson, Scottie Pippin, MJ. Can't get better than that ❤❤❤
Viewing the physical feats from MJ is one thing, but to witness the mental dominance and intimidation he played with was truly what made him unique and the GOAT.
One of the most gifted athletes in human history. Still has the nba record for vertical leap I believe. More importantly, probably one of the most savage competitors as well. Just cut from a different cloth. There are a lot of great players in NBA history but nobody ever had all the pieces to work with that Jordan had. He will always be the guy whom other’s greatness will be compared to.
MJ has no quit in him. I liked any team that could beat the bulls back during their championship run years. Always; I've enjoyed the pure all around competitive fire that Michael Jordan displayed through all those years. He may have posterized more opposing players than anyone for his time on the hardwood courts.
