I totally disagree. Price was one of the better point guards in the league in the early 90's. He was a multiple All Star performer. He was widely popular at the time.

Awwww man!! Absolutely!!! I watched most of his games in Cleveland being from up here, and he was underrated being in the league with Isiah and Stockton. He was also hurt a lot and the Cavs team was too. But I remember Isiah saying price was the best point guard in the league at one time. Wouldn't even be a curry without price.

@@briancarter2847 We’re not living in the 90’s anymore. Price is underrated today period. Most NBA fans stare at me blankly when I mention Price and how he was really the first modern NBA guard. Also he’s not in the Hall of Fame and there are far inferior players to him that have made it. Just saying.

@@dreamshakejake3736 the people that think Mark Price is underrated, don't know shit about basketball and haven't watched him play. This guy had everything but size. Explosive off the dribble, great handle & passer. Stone cold shooter, would be a perennial 50/40/90 guy today. And he played defense. Could use screens and hit the pull up jumper as well as anyone I've ever seen play the game. If not for injuries he'd be considered right up there with Stockton. At his peak I think he may be slightly better all around even.
@raymondvalasquez3992
@raymondvalasquez3992 5 лет назад
What is his advantage over Stockton that gives him the edge?
@lainiwakura4678
@lainiwakura4678 5 лет назад
@@raymondvalasquez3992 I just think in their respective primes Price was a more explosive player. Could maintain a high 3 pt. FG% while taking a higher volume of shots. Even contested ones. At his peak he was like a Stockton that looked to score a bit more and better at contested 3's. Even better at the FT line, and not many can make that claim over Stockton. Price shot 95% from the line in back to back seasons in 92 & 93.
@spiffy8576
@spiffy8576 4 года назад
He was better than Stockton. Way more dangerous offensively.
@GoZags43
@GoZags43 2 года назад
@@raymondvalasquez3992 Stockton’s only advantage is career longevity. I guess the other area Stockton has the edge is he probably had quicker hands defensively. Stockton is definitely one of the best players at getting steals in NBA history. Besides that, Price was better at literally everything. He didn’t average as many assists, but that was because he also REALLY pressured the defense with his jump shot and even his rim attacks and floater game. Stockton wasn’t NEARLY as aggressive looking to score coming off the PnR. Price would be much better in the modern NBA because teams would do all they could to turn Stockton into a scorer. His shot was solid but not spectacular. Obviously Stockton would be really good in the modern NBA, and if he had grown up in modern times, he probably would have threatened much more with his jumper. Price was a different animal though. He was a KNOCKDOWN shooter off the dribble or off the catch. He was elite at splitting the PnR when teams would blitz him (like they do Dame and Curry now). I think Price was actually a better, more creative passer too. Price was very similar to Nash but with a more aggressive mindset when it came to scoring. Price would be perfect for the modern NBA. He wouldn’t be on the level of Curry or Dame, but he would be a perennial all star, and if he would’ve grown up in this era, he would probably be an even MORE prolific shooter. His 3PA rate was very high for his time even if it looks relatively tame in comparison to today’s best shooters. Mark Price was ahead of his time, but in a way he blazed a trail for Nash, Dame, Steph, Trae, and even slightly lesser (but still very good) players like Kemba, Herro, Van Vleet, and Patty Mills.

Mark Price is really deserving of HOF status. NBA should be ashamed for not having inducted him yet. I would venture to say he is comparable to John Stockton, but far more grit and audacity to drive to the rim. And, did I mention his passes were as entertaining as Magic Johnson's? Last, but not least, did anyone notice that he could be running at 100 mph around the arc, suddenly stopping to shoot a perfectly vertical jumper??

He played too much in my opinion. He was a defensive liability and only a spot shooter. They should have kept Ron Harper instead of thinking Ferry would be a better fit.
