Kreider is not frustrating to fans...He is not Messier. he is just what he is... A big power forward who is one of the best netfront players in the NHL. He scores big goals, kills penalties and stretches defenses with his speed even at 33. He is a bargain at his cap hit...He is top 10 in goal scoring for the last 3 seasons ahead of McKinnon and Ovechkin. And yes his #20 will be raised to the rafters.
Looseness or tightening up, it doesn’t make a difference. The reason their backs weren’t against the wall was because they won three games already. They built that cushion. The bottom line is that when they were faced with “Hey, let’s not let this get to game 7” they were able to turn it up to another level and have the best ten minutes of the series.
What Kreider did was fantastic, but to me, it will NEVER come close to the emotional ride that Messier's trick gave. It's not fair to compare, but I have a newfound respect for Kreider. He finally showed up and delivered the potential and leadership that I've been waiting to see for the past 12 years.

The amount of pressure that was on Messier and the Rangers was unbelievable. The 1940 and 54 year drought loomed large. Krieder did something special while Messier did something infamous.
