A big thanks to llaauuddrruupp for allowing me to use his huge archive of videos of Michael, i would recommend visiting his youtube page and checking out his great collection.
This is my compilation of my favourite player, hope you enjoy it, he isnt as well known as the likes of pele, cruyff or maradona but he is undoubtly one of the greatest players ever to have played the game and should be spoken of in the same way those three players are. A true gent of the game, never saw a red card, a master of the 'blind pass' and his vision was probably the best in the game.

Probably I watched this maybe more than 10 times. Still priceless, timeless, and splendid. He is indisputably a great master of the killer pass and visionary architect of deep, long passes. A playmaker whose style became a role model and source of inspiration for the likes of Xavi and Iniesta. They concede this in their auto-biographical tales. Love and respect from New York for one of the best playmakers in soccer history: MICHAEL LAUDRUP.

Michael Laudrup is one of the best players I ever have seen. My favourite, there is no doubt about this. I used to dream playing like him; elegant, intelligent, master of skill...what a genius he was. I absolutely agree with Guardiola, he deserved to be the "balón de oro". Fantastic tribute. I like this video.

Zidane was a bit more technical and all-rounded than Laudrup, and had his best performances on the biggest stages, so he definitely got a lot more attention than Laudrup. Especially in the 2000s when more widespread television broadcasting meant more people could watch the World Cup, Zidane put in absolutely incredible performances for France and his story of coming out of retirement to save France was newspaper bait. Laudrup on the other hand would never get that sort of opportunity with Denmark and actually chose not to join the Danish team when they won the Euros, which would’ve given his name much more legendary status.

I wept when my country lost, if our team had defeated Brazil the team would have gone to the final and won, Our attack was fantastic, both Laudrup brothers, the elder and the younger, Jørgensen the computer from Milan and Udinese on the left, Sand the bundesliga topscorer as a striker up front, we had Scmeichel on goal, our final four in the back were all offensively minded defenders, all attack and no holding back. Heintze and Helveg as left and right back, Gravesen as defensive midfielder cleaning up. Great team, played beautiful attacking freeflowing football, the kind we play when we are children, our best team at any World cup.

@giantiger12

I see that many are saying he was better than Zidane or "Zidane was overrated". In some ways I agree he was better than Zidane. Like his vision was absolutely outstanding. You notice that the best midfielders from these past years have a very similar style to him. Iniesta, Xavi, Modric, etc.. What made Zidane so special though was that not only did he have many of the footballing qualities Laudrup had but he in some was ways he was more of a complete footballer. For instance, Laudrup wasn't known for his heading yet Zidane was amazing at scoring with his head. Does that automatically mean Zidane was better than Laudrup? No. Basically I think we shouldn't say Laudrup was better than Zizou & vice versa. They both had UNIQUE qualities that made them so special for football.
@simonjrgensen6761

Zidane was a leader on the pitch as well and tbh more consistent. But yeah Michael Laudrup should be considered among the very best in his position. Him and the less known Allan Simonsen are the best we have had from Denmark.

Zidane is a dog, Laudrup is a cat. Who actually doesnt really like the pro enviroment since it is a dog world. But the Cat is by far the most inventive ,intuitive, creative archetype. Zidane come from France and Laudrup from Denmark, Yet Laudrup achieved way more than Zidane. More goals and more passes that lead to goal. Laudrup was the creature so that is the reason he did not made many goals with his head. He was actually quite good at it. Yeah Zidane achieved some success at world cup, in winning them. Yet Laudrup also got to 3 world cups and did also played remarkably well. The Second World cup he got to did not went well. That team got to old and payed that prize. Not Laudrup faults Laudrup won the federation cup though. Every club he played on became Champions. Laudrup did not need to be a Zidane, it was Zidane that copied Laudrup. His skills was so good he did not need to fight on man to man, he played effectively around them.

It all comes down how you define a great player You can talk about all the great players that have skills, to master skills. But to master the game as well and have a look for it with Effortless and grace. I see noone comes close to Laudrup. He always seems to KNOW exactly what to do, nothing less nothing more. I have rarely seen him being in any doubt, just pure action that succelfull played out. THAT is a true master. Like The Bruce Lee of Football. Just the GOAT The real deal, fuck over hyped goalscorers and biased fans . A lot of them that are compared with Laudrup copied him anyway. The original always have a bigger understanding of those ways. Even Cryuff himself said it. "When Michael plays like a dream, a magic illusion, determined to show his new team his extreme abilities, NO ONE IN THE WORLD COMES ANYWHERE NEAR HIS LEVEL.""

Why you say "even if he didnt give it all" I watched him play in his last 2 years, but never saw him being a mediocre in the field, maybe he didnt run has he was 25 but still, for me he was a giver

@@tacuazinful To be honest I'm not quite sure if you actually read my comment to begin with. Or perhaps it's my phrasing that is too vague, that has somehow mislead you? If i had to simplify my point. It would be that the level of football, at the time was too easy for him. Hence why he rarely had to give his all.
@chinmaypednekar501
@chinmaypednekar501 4 года назад
@@benjaminandersson6269 he was schooling the swansea team in training when in his late 40s. Point being, he'd be excellent and brilliant regardless of what era he'd be playing, thanks to his strong sound technique and immense talent And he'd probably be even more impactful in the later years given the eased referreeing standards on physicality and the focus on attacking, pacey gameplay.
@chinmaypednekar501
@chinmaypednekar501 4 года назад
@@tacuazinful that is not what the original commenter meant. In case you want a proper detailed elaboration of what he exactly means, read about or watch some videos about what johan cruyff and also Michel platini have meant when they said it, that "Laudrup didn't give his best". Of course Laudrup got the job done with whatever he gave on the field and i myself rate Laudrup in high regards from all that ive seen of him. But if players like cruyff and platini say the same exact thing about michael, there has to be something they saw him do in the training grounds where they were alongside him, which he refrained from doing in actual matches. Laudrup has also been called a bit too "unselfish" for his and his team's own good, especially in front of goal, which probably if he would have been selfish enough, would have won them more games if he himself had finished a chance instead of making a pass, or maybe he would have the personal accolades he deserved and hence put him in a place among the greats whose names arent forgotten. Maybe he used to do even more mesmerising things in the training sessions and play much better in there than what we saw in the games.

It makes sense why we connect with this video, if we take into consideration what Jordan Peterson teaches us. Its when competence is heightened to the levels of arts, and the story this video creates, resonates within all of us. The unsung legend, unsung because he lacked the drive to become more selfish in the pursuit of egotistical greatness. He was a team-player, who knew he could win trophies by raising the morale and confidence of his team and organization, with his generous playstyle. Then when JordanP, tells us about the Alpha-male, and what is expected of such one, i can feel in my eyes soaking up, due to what is praised in Football, is a misinterpretation of alpha-males needing to be brutes and individualists. Just as it is misinterpreted in society. I cry everytime i watch this video. The Messiah who is Laudrup, willingly sacrificed his own glory for the team, but is viewed as a coward for not submitting to realise "his full potential".

I think there were once Michael said to Inieasta to play None egoistic, THEN he will become dangerous for the opponent.

brian laudrup also got a nomination for fifa world player of the year at bayern munich, brian also turned down manchester utd and barcelona while being at rangers due to the fact he enjoyed scotland as a country so big teams did want him, also was the main man along with peter shmiecle (cant spell) that won the european cup for denmark. was brian laudrup any good for ajax?

@OMDSouvenir A Danish journal. His clip was cut from the documentary, Football's greatest - Laudrup's episode
@jesusmauroyngacanalesyngac1777
Mauro Ynga

It would have been nice but as the players on the Victory team said, playing without Michael, the best player on the team, pushed them work that much harder so even though he wasn't playing he still helped them win :-)

The one thing I think of regarding Platini was his 8 goals in the 1984 Euro, but I haven't seen anything else due to my young age ;) Anyway, I really find it hard to believe he was a better passer, or a had better vision than Laudrup. Platini also said so himself, that Laudrup was the worlds best during practice. Laudrup wasn't given any freedom in Italy
