Michael forgot to mention that he had one of the bullets which had Lemmy's ash in it. Not that many people got that. Only for closest friends. Love your interviews. Cheers from Finland, Petri
Matthew Deluge below is right, this Hanoi content is a super treat. How cool is this! This last one with Michael, just left me smiling stupidly. So happy you did this, just absoluetly LOVE Michael, Nasty, Sami, Andy and our beloved Razzle. So thank you.
An absolute legend of hard rock! Everything he has ever sang on he nailed. Tremendously underrated and it still drives me mad. Michael Monroe is due some major dues. Killer interview Mr. Green!
You're spoiling us with all this awesome Hanoi content. Thank you so much. If you get a chance could ask about Ginger Wildheart? I'm of the opinion that Sensory Overdrive is easily Michael's best solo album. Ginger was a huge part of that. Those two writing together was pure magic. I have no doubt they could write another kick ass rock n' roll album.
I agree, but as a long time fan, Horns and Halos just backed off from the Ginger influence (which was so overpowering) a bit and allowed MM to shine through. Definitely, a great cd though!
That was outstanding Jason, thank you so much. Michael is the only truly relevant Rock and Roll front man we have left. Your reunion efforts on all our behalf (I believe I speak for the whole family here!), are in word, Brilliant. Best of luck!
This was awesome!! My name is Ralph and I’m 44 years old and a rock ‘n’ roll junkie since I was 14 and icing and Burnes will not right now but there’s only so much a mistake to Michael Monroe and association with say a list popular Rockstars and I love guns and roses so much and Mötley Crüe which led me to discover and white rocks in the late 90s and as I got older I get more into them but this is the quintessential Michael Monroe interview who’s one of the most amazing looking front man of all time and I’m at the Valley heterosexual man. He’s such a different kind of rockstar his personality wise he is in your face glamorous but yet humble and as I want to take credit. he’s like a punk rocker almost like a grunge guy and that kind of humble way in a quintessential glam rocker singer body and aesthetic. There was so much I wanted to know about Michael Monroe. And this was the quintessential interview. Thank you for posting this is very entertaining and interesting.
It was a Great oportunity to know Michael Monroe ( had read just magazine articles) .. , see him talking is wonderful ,I can see he is a sensitive and tender guy has an inner beautiful spirituality . Than You Jason for the exclusive interview .🤟😊
It's the youtube guy it's the youtube guy........Wow I had a good time at the KSHE KLASSIC CAR SHOW AND CONCERT @THE FACTORY. ... Very nice to have chatted with you . I hope you enjoyed yourselves in my little part of the Universe while you were here. Thank you and the rest of your traveling circus peeps for the great music. Great FOH MIX I cant say the same for JACKYL"s sound . I had to split TOO LOUD !!!!! I was there for Stephen & Crew anyway. 5 out of 5 STARZ. It made my year. Thank you. Buy the ticket Take the ride See you next time You're in West St. Louis County .
Wow, Hanoi Rocks was the best thing that happened in Music for me. They were the best, and I miss Razzle and Hanoi Rocks... But at least I am so happy that we have this great musician Michael who still sings like no one in the world, keeping this up❤ I also bought the new album on an Lp... When I tell you it is the only thing playing here at home... I mean it!❤ Michael seems like such a person really, he really seems nice and genuine and honest. This interview also was just great! I also keep adding more to this comment haha but I am also just 15 and discovered Hanoi Rocks through anothet band a few years ago and I just can not get enough of that band haha🙏🙏
i first met michael on the not fakin it tour he and his band were all very funny to meet and incredible on stage ,great interview jason really enjoyed it i have the original demolition 23 one of my favourite albums i gonna have to buy the new one with 3 extra tracks,it would be great if the movie about michael monroe was given a cinema release with michael in attendance for a few screenings theres nothing like seeing a music movie in a cinema with other fans its like a concert
Again, a great interview Jason. I hope you can get the Gyp Casino interview. It's sad that even if the original Hanoi Rocks reunite we'll probably never get to see them here in the states. IMO for a US tour to happen they would need to tour with a major act that would let Hanoi play a full set. I suppose there's always a live stream possibility.
He looks great! I've checked out a couple of songs from this and DAMN he can crank out some awesome songs. Even as a young skater-punk in the 80s, I was still a huge fan of his and of Hanoi Rocks.
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen That's great! The last time I saw him play must have been in -95/-96 when he was playing in Andy's Live Ammo lineup. He also plays on the album, Andy's solo record Building on Tradition, that is. I think you can catch him in the Strung Out music video as well. I know him and Andy have had contact through all these years.
I loved it. I never knew that's how Hanoi Rocks felt about the mix of Oriental Beat, or that they got to remix it. I can't wait to hear it. Btw, I love all of the classic monster stuff on display behind you, Jason. Man, if only you could get Rob Zombie to come on and talk about the Munsters, that would really be something 👍
I feel you when you mention the Ramones, Jason... you only have a finite amount of time with your musical heroes and it hurts when they're all still alive and performing yet can't settle differences enough to make magic on stage for the fans again. I love all the members of the Runaways to death, but hate that they couldn't reunite while Sandy West was still alive. And I'm with you, the Ramones are my favorite American band, as well. Joey's buried 2 miles away from my parent's house in NJ, I always stop and pay respects.
when they were talking that michael would not perform the song live it reminded me of the very first time x japan did the acoustic version of " forever love" after the guitarist death and toshi-san can hardly get through the song
Love the new album, I Live Too Fast To Die Young is masterful. To be honest - really enjoyed this video too, because it did turn me on to new music as I had largely missed out on Hanoi Rocks and most of Michael's back catalog. So as a new Monroe fan, thanks - I'll be diving deep into his music, the new album turned me into a fan, and the old stuff I've heard so far has cemented that.
been watching your Hanoi interviews, great work man. I just started interviewing people, Got a couple goodies so far, Keith Morris (b.f, circle jerks, off!), Sammytown (fang)..tryna get good at it, its a technique but also every guest makes a new challenge kinda...you said you're a Ramones fan...a good friend of mine is now in Richie's overseas touring band.
Just found your channel. Staring w/ 4 innerviews w/ Hanoi members; B A D A S S!! Liked, Subscribed & gettin' notifications. All the best, Jason ~ ~ p.s. - Thanx for covering the MM (English Version) Book release . Always wondered why not years ago??
Perkele Mike Monroe Suomesta🇫🇮 My home town 900 years old port city by the sea called Turku is the place where Michael has lived over 10 years now and I see him every now and then walking or riding hes cool bicycle without A helmet on👍 I dont either use helmet when riding bike... But Ive ride bike Like 30 years so Ill survive without it. But MM is In my top 3 frontmans of rnroll and A great man Who never changes or lets loose of his principles etc. Most underratted rocker Id say but the underground and rockers all over the globe knows him so I think its ok if las vegas or Hollywood dont know him.
I absolutely loved this, Michael is so talented and so all into the performance. I don't know how he does it and still doing it with all the power and energy within him He gives his everything. AWESOME INTERVIEW!!! I have dubbed his performances as "Magnificent Madness" because he must be totally drained and done when the curtain drops. Thank you and Much Love Michael!!! Thanks Jason Green so very much for bringing Michael on. ps maybe it should be "Michael Monroe's Magnificent Madness" Now that is a lot of M's. and I never even thought about it until just now. ALBUM NAME???
For me personally ,Rock nRoll or in fact any other sub genre of music is about integrity, guts and not following a crowd, the Hanoi lads did it , Shark Island and countless others. I’ve learnt a lot (unfortunately) about some of my teenage favourites like Crue and So on over the last year watching this podcast . I can’t believe I didn’t see how fake a lot of those bands were . Hindsight eh? Hanoi can hold their heads up high and be proud of the legacy they helped create xx love ya Micheal 🙏🙏🙏
The connection Hanoi Rocks - Guns N Roses is a very known fact for people Who grew Up in the eighties. Hanoi and Michael were also an influence (and Friends) with so many more big acts from the eighties like Bon Jovi. In fact Michael and Jon Bon Jovi were good Friends. Michael even visited him on set while Jon was filming the U -571 movie along with Harvey Keitel. And for a while Jon also cited Hanoi Rocks as one of his favorite rock bands.
I've never liked Jerusalem Slim. It's the only MM album I didn't even care to buy back in the day. But I was lucky enough to get a copy of the demo album, J.S. The Demos, which Michael sold privately (I believe) some 20-25 years ago. It is just brilliant and sounds nothing like the final product. It's more like Not Fakin' It meets Demolition 23. It has great sounds and could've been released as such as the final JS version. You can find it, or at least pics of it, by googling MM J.S. the Demos. My copy is not for sale. 😛
The different between Michael and Gunners is Michael is real Rock'n'roll and Gunners are business. Buy Michaels new great Album: I lived too fast too die young!!!⚡🎸🎸🎸🥁🎙☠♠️⚘💥🔊
Wow Jason, that was the first time that I’ve ever heard Michael Monroe in an interview, he always looked angry in his pictures and sounded angry in his singing. He’s a really nice, mellow guy lol. It just goes to show that stereotyping people is wrong and never judge a book by it’s cover😜
One can clearly see that Gyp Casino is a sensitive subject for MM. It would be interesting to hear his story. Gyp can't have been fired because of his drumming, he sounded great.
It's a well documented story. While they were recording in London, Gyp was starting to have mental health issues and kind of drifted away from the rest of the band. Also his relationship with McCoy went really sour, resulting in an onstage fist fight. At the same time Razzle was hell bent on joining the band, so... the rest is history
Michael is great. No matter what he says Jerusalem Slim is the best record he made. "Lethal Underground" is the greatest rock song that was ever recorded.
Not to keen on his music. Never a big fan of H.R's records back in the days. But...Mr Monroe...can't dig up a bigger rock star. I'll give that to him....
