Something I was told Most of these mounds are not garbage pits as stated. I'm not sure if you know this but I would think k or hope you do Southern Natives had a ritual of breaking old things I'm metaphorical way of getting rid of all the old bad habits or starting off a new kinda new year's resolution. Not all mounds we're garbage pits.
I live in SW Fl and, according to a map i saw, the area i live in was once part of the Calusa nation. I want to learn more about them and their way of life. Yet this video says not much is yet known about the Calusa. Does anyone have any ideas on how i could learn more about them? Without becoming an archaeologist.
Scott Comer there is THE MOUND HOUSE on Fort Myers Beach where this video was made for. There are some artifacts there you can look at. I know they are still researching.
