I think japanese swimmers like seyto, hagino or irie are really impressive...They can overcome a lack of height that is so important in swimming, and be up there fighting with the best of them...Much respect for these guys!
+tatiana walls this is what we came from - we swim in the womb for the first year of our life. Moreover, according to the Evolution our ancestry came from ocean. Water is our second home. Have a nice swim ;)
This made me smile so hard. :D The Japanese guy was ahead of Phelps in the last length of breast, but I was so SURE that no one could beat Phelps in freestyle. I was right. :')
Breaststoke is such a unique stroke. It's interesting to see so many world class freestylers and butterflyers struggle when it comes to breast. I've heard it said that swimmers are made but breaststokers are born. So true.
Is always awesome and an inspiration for me to see him swimming again in this event… Hope to watch the 400m IM with Lochte and Phelps in the 2012 London Olympics!

apparently it's one of his favourite songs to train to, so they'll sometimes play the music he wants, and he can hear the beat while he swims, notice he gets a little quicker when it comes on
he wasy trying, it looks slow but hes focusing more on pushing the water with his arms then actually moving them fast. long, strong strokes are better than fast short one
Can somebody please tell me what type of freestyle technique this is, with the long stroke and then a fast stroke? I cant find anything about it anywhere.

Japanese athlete Daiya Seto is way better to my opinion. He was just beaten on the final front stroke... He is like 20 cm shorter than Phelps -less advantageous- and his stamina and endurance is superb!
I think that michael phelps this race has not made her tough, because I noticed that frequency has little legs and arms, but especially its diving are very short when in fact he has always made long.
I think that you think you know what you are talking about. Trust me. Phelps really isn't trying that hard on back or breast. And also, a fast tempo is vital for having a world class backstroke, and many very fast breastrokers use a very short and quick pull.
