I remember when I was was in 8th grade, before his senior season when he moved to Washington, this kid was always mad shitting on our high school basketball team when he attended Nathan Hale. Dude was crazy and I’ve been rooting for him ever since
The cookie monster part had me weak asf😂💀 dude was a savage pre-back injuries but put him in the right system like a GSW system and i guarantee yall he will flourish💯
You can see the difference in his gate and pace before the injury. It is amazing how he has been able to adjust and work through it. Basically there is another story here that we wont get till he retires 10 years from now.
Bro has multiple disc herniations and multiple surgeries.. I’m sitting here in agony 2 years after a failed back surgery, barely able to walk. To play in the nba is unbelievable.
Such a smooth and fluid athlete at 6 10. Sucks that the back injuries have taken away some of it. Hopefully he gets it all back like this in the near future
Really hope him and Trae Young team up soon . Idk how much Denever can keep him as a 3rd option too , he's way better then people thought post college injury and he's flourished behind Jokic and Killer Murray . That game vs the Lakers proved everything to me.
@@318josh7 yeah it's not holding his recovery back, but it does show he may never not be injury prone. Hes literally always getting injured it's just sad.
Guarded him in a preseason game and we only lost by 24😂 I’m a bigger guard at 6’5 but couldn’t even contest his jumper cause he shoots it so fucking High
*Porter Family* Bri Porter - Tore ACL 5 times during basketball career (not kidding) Cierra Porter - Dropped out of Mizzou after Knee injuries Jontay Porter - Tore acl then reinjured it before fully recovered MPJ - Terrible back and hip injuries and recently injured his knee Idk wtf is wrong with their genetics.
@@draw0833 yeah if he ever gets to play... the back injury was a big hit and the rest of his body is starting to go with it and his family has a terrible background with injuries
he’s been playing 3v3s in practice and his teammates say hes getting really good. he said himself that he thinks hes better than he was before. they’re taking it really slow to try to prevent a bigger injury
I've been watching him from college intelligent basketball player now watching in Pro once he developed more muscle weight going to be hard to stop in Pro
It’s over for this kid. After seeing what his siblings have gone through in terms of injury and whats currently happening with him, his nba career won’t be much more than what we’re seeing now
It suck to see this since he ain’t playing . It seem like he taking after he’s high school coaches NBA career. Brandon Roy was one the best scorers but due to injury held him back a lot and cut his career short. Hope it don’t happen to MPJ.
Man he looking like Victor W out there v those hobbits in high school, no wonder he dominated.. fits in perfectly at Denver and has a beautiful game. Bloody sad for him and has family with what’s happened to Coban and Jontay. Keep shining MPJ
Unstoppable in High School? So was Al Bundy. Scored 4 touchdowns in a single game for Polk High. This dude is too fragile. Hope he gets healthy but I don't see it. Ive seen plenty of guys like him over the last 30 years.
