He's the worst type of white guy he tries so hard to be black smh he's one of those guys who have white guilt and would turn black in a second if he had the choice
I feel like Eminem was purposely not mentioned because he's white. White gy doesn't want to sound bias, my opinion he deserves a mention in any top MC list.
Vlad, "I'd put J Cole over Big Daddy Kane." I'm done.. unsubscribed. This is how far the game has fallen. Where are you from Vlad? When are we gonna get a real New Yorker to do a show, that focuses on the real history. This dude here just exposed himself. J Cole..... LOL
Unified People can have opinions. But not all opinions are equal. Kane is a legend. Kane was so nasty back in the days, it's hard to put it into context. You would have had to live through it. Same for Rakim. This Vlad clown, talking about Rakim, with some doubt in his mind. Like dude, where are you from? When did you start listening to hip hop? 1998? Rakim revolutionized emceeing. The 90s era was all Rakim. He influenced that whole generation. Go listen to hip hop, before Rakim. The sound is mad elementary. Sure Mel was nice and so was Moe Dee. But the R was the first to modernize it. Kane was right there with him. J. Cole???.... almost made me lose my Islam. SMDH...
Unified that's like saying Eli Manning is Better than Tom Brady. Lol but all the stats show Tom Brady is the better QB. Yeah it can still be my opinion but it's a dumb ass opinion with no solidity to it. I have no actual proof but I just say Eli because I'm from New York. That's why New York hiphop sucks today. Lol all y'all do is talk about the past greats cause no one has a sound now. Scratch that, you do have a sound. The two most New Yorkers repping is Young M.A. And nicki.
Last Of A Dying Breed Okay, for the chimpanzees in the room, who cannot articulate themselves and have to resort to the usage of crass language. I will use the most simplest of terms, to explain to you why Kane is the man. New York is the mecca of hip hop. You would not have hip hop, if it wasn't for N.Y. That's point no. 1. Point no 2. There is a fallicy of logic referred to as the facllicy of popularity. An untrained mind believes that; because something is popular, it is good or correct. Copernicus, was condemned as a heritic; because he had the unmitigated audacity to say that the sun was the center of the solar system. Even though it was popular to believe that the earth was the center of the universe. At one time, it was popular to believe that the earth was flat. That didn't make it correct. The pope is popular. Yet he teaches that a man that died 2000 years ago, is still alive with a hole in his heart. Point no. 3. I have been listening to hip hop since 1982. I know what hip hop sounded like then, and I know what Kane did to help transform it. The standard you use today is of no consequence. Because, most of you can't read at grade level and you can't write to save your life. In another 20 years, you'll be swinging off of tree limbs and hurling fecal matter at one another. Why would the opinion of a primate matter to me or Kane, for that matter? Just saying... BTW, it's called a dictionary.
Harlems block ,iced out watch , knots in my socks, cops think im selling rocks , pulling me over, to see if I'm drunk I'm sober , but wouldn't fuck wit me if I drove a Nova, hey yo, listen Columbo, just cause your money come slow. And what you make in a year I'm get that for a show .
Period,,when I hear people naming goof balls with basic skills its disgusting.you can tell rapaport has appreciation with depth not trying to show favor toward trend or whats currently popular.you can have artists preference for the different eras' and still represent your generation with a sane perspective and opinion .its plenty of new artists I appreciate even though the 1st album I ever had was LL's Bad album.that was a good album but a lot of his delivery would be seen as obsolete in todays music or even some of the 90s work.Vlad stop selling ass. ASAP
2pac body of work small?? I get he died at 25 but Pac has a Massive body of work that rivals his peers that are 40 and 50 years old now. His growth was stopped at 25 but he's still ahead of most that are in their 40s even now. Biggie only had 2 albums so I get that.
MrTruboy he had an album or double album released every year after his death for 10 years straight 1996-2006 with more unheard music in the vaults today. Pac 5 year run still going. Tell these kids let that sink in lol
Goat - first off you can’t just assume that cause I don’t have him in my top 5. I like Nas, he’s definitely better then Eminem but I just have my top 5 list like that. Why don’t u show me yours.
That's a really good list! Mine would be 1. Mf doom 2. Gza 3. Big L 4. Raekwon 5. Andre 3000 But rapaport speaking the truth here, vlad doesn't know shit about hip hop!! Ghostface Sean P method man wow all these dudes he mentioned literally shit on j Cole and kendrick
Honestly there aren't a whole lot of rappers anywhere else that are better than NY rappers. The only exception is the midwest. The West produces a few. The South is garbage except for a few like Scarface, Andre 3000, Jay Electronica, and T.I.
Em doesn't even make my top 10...... Lyrically, from a technical standpoint Em is one of the best but overall - albums & singles and impact, nope! I can still listen to Rakim's music from 1988 but I cannot listen to some old Em songs. Again, Em is dope but his impact is not on the same level as NaS, Black Thought, Redman, KRS, LL, Pun, Jigga, Pac or Ice Cube
Liked the phrasing "who is your top five" its a question that has no wrong answer. Besides the top 5 has been set for a long time. 1.dylan 2.dylan 3.dylan 4.dylan 5.dylan Becauae he spits hot fire.
I was in school and the teacher kept saying dieline, which is like a template and each time she said it I would say Dylan. Everyone in the class would giggle, but eventually the teacher stopped the class and snapped lol.
I hope you're trolling. Eminem is amazing but writing this in a video where a guy just mentioned absolute legends and hip hop godfathers it probably means that you don't even know who is he talking about
@@massdagod says you. Brenda's Got a Baby hit hard with me when it came out. And Keep Ya Head Up the years after was a super hit. I love early Tupac songs. I was still I'm grade 5 and 6 but I knew they were special. Then when Thug Life and Me Agaisnt World dropped it was homeruns.
@@ryangmilam He still had a substantial body of work. Big I get because he literally released 2 classics and that was that but Pac had released a lot of music. Maybe he still needed more music from him...Pac released some trash albums and music along with classics so it's hard to number him without letting his death effect the number.
Kendrick is a legit contender as one of the GOATs. So I would not be mad if someone put him in his top 10/top 5. I personally would not. Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Big Pun, 2Pac
Kendrick and Cole names shouldn't even be mentioned at all they not even all time greats when you speak of golden age hip-hop greatest of all time. Are the legends. That's it. Me personally kendrick and Cole are wack compared to the old school Era I would never even mention them period.
sean24833 music is subjective... If he's in your top 5 favorites, he's in your greatest as well... Your list shouldn't be how others view an artist you like
Spida Spirals Absolute self centred rubbish. “They’re the greatest because they’re my favourite.” What ever happened to appreciating the craft and the art? I like Isaiah Rashad more than 3stacks but it would be insulting if I said that he was greater just because I like him more.
Spida Spirals No there's artists that I like personally because I enjoy their music or relate to them more than others. But it doesn't mean that just because I like them that I think they're better than everyone. As a lyricist Cole is great but I know that there are better lyricists than him. Some I don't relate to as much or enjoy their music as much but I could acknowledge that some are better rappers than cole.
zMawzz how would that be insulting? Be real with yourself... It's like you're relying on other's opinions to say what's better... That's how artists like Em, Pac and Kendrick become overrated...
sean24833 but just being a lyricist doesn't make you a better rapper... Anybody can rhyme words together.... kinda like comparing Earl's early work to His last album... He was a great lyricist but he was just saying them to rhyme, once he had better subjects he became better (to me)
He mentioned Albert king ' guitar God' to make his point. You really have to be an historian, and know your shit to make that analogy. Respect Michael Rapaport!
Eminem is a much better lyricist than the dudes Rapaport mentioned, his ability to absolutely decimate the English language are second to none. But all these dudes are interchangeable imo, they're all fucking amazing at what they do.
Santiago Comics So? It's not even close to being considered one of the best albums. There are so many albums I can put above ANY Eminem Album. 36 Chambers, The Infamous, Illmatic, Stillmatic, ATliens, Black Star, Ready To Die, Wu Tang Forever, Liquid Swords, Iron Man, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 1 and 2, All Eyez On Me, Man on the Moon 1 and 2, etc. I swear Eminem fans are almost as bad as Drake and Weezy fans. P.S: Eminem was in a group of 6 people. Mos Def was just in Black Star with Talib Kweli.
How you gonna have the Madvilliany cover as your profile picture and not include Doom in your list? smh He is the only one in my list that I believe absolutely has to be in everyones top 5 for their opinion to be worth anything.
My top 15 list ( lyrical aspect more ) : MF DOOM Immortal Technique Rakim Aesop Rock Daylyt Loaded Lux KRS Eminem Big Pun Black Thought *Mos Def* *Canibus* *Nas* *Big L* *Kool G Rap*
lol the amazing thing is this thread. Just look at all the different top 5's you're getting, and just about all the lists are dope! You can't go wrong to be honest with you, which is why we as hip hop lovers should thank our lucky stars. Black Thought, Sean P,common,Inspectah Deck,Scarface,Jeru,Andre 3000, etc... so much great talent to enjoy. We should thank people like Rapaport for guarding the culture of Hip Hop and it's music.
Rakim - Bill Russell Kane - Kareem Slick rick - Dr J 2Pac - Chamberlain Sticky fingaz - Grant hill Nas - Jordan Scarface - Rod Strickland DMX - Shaq Eminem - Larry bird R.A Rugged Man - Petrovic Big L - Ewing Pun - Hakeem Chino xl - Iverson Biggie - 🍔👑 Jay Z - Gay Z
@@jerzyghost72 Beans is better than Jay-Z. Styles P killed the ROC. Who won between Beans and Jada, I never argue either way. Beans only went at the LOX because he was loyal to a man who wouldn't do the same for him. He put his neck out for Jay and look where it got him. Even beans said Jay was scared to go at Jada, because he knew Jada would spank that ass. Beans was the only one who had the fire power to go at them. Beans later, said he regretted it because he didn't have beef with them. But, as I said, Styles killed them all with hard bars. Beans was that dude, but I've never heard anyone say beans would beat S.P. I'm more of a Styles P fan than Jada, but Jada is more marketable than both Beans and Styles. That's why I wondered why Jada wasn't mentioned. At the end of the day, I listen to all of them. I wish Beans was still making music, though.
bennett white A reach is usually an outlandish or exaggerated statement. I stated a fact, being that the comment you felt the need to insult is indeed 9 months old. Where was the reach? You do better.
That top 5 is legit. I like Rapaport's idea, a top 5 without naming the usual suspects is hard. My personal is Nas / GFK / Jay Z / Big / Common but using Rapaport's model Big L / Common / GFK / Rakim / Kool G Rap
Kane is nice,I seen him do a show a year ago and he was spiting like he lost his mind.See the problem I have with today’s artist is they don’t value lyricism as much as they use to.Nowadays they focus on making a hit more than being a lyricist. And J Cole and Kendrick are good.
@@Eli-pl2pi hmmm id say and itd change but redman sean p big l nas jay z em thats 6 q tip ghostface necro a few other i omitted all the ones before as they are old school to me but i wouldve put g rap in it rakim and krs
My list without Eminem, Pac, Biggie, Big L: 5.Method Man 4.Slick Rick 3.Rakim 2.NaS 1.Joyner This is my list of people who’s music I enjoy, not an official fact that everyone should follow, it’s an opinion, don’t go for my head.
Fun fact: Nas was only on Live at the BBQ because MF Grimm was arrested earlier that day and couldn’t make the recording, so Nas stepped in to his place. Grimm knocked out a NYC cab driver that crashed into Kool G Rap’s car that Grimm was borrowing, and was arrested and held for 3 days. If you don’t know who MF Grimm is, give his Scars And Memories album a listen. Very underrated. Also, read his life story. It should be made into a movie because it’s so ridiculous. PS - Grimm also ghost wrote for Dr. Dre, believe it or not. Specifically he penned most of the lyrics on The Chronic album which everyone loves so much.
